just wondering are there any?
i dont really think there would be, not too many aussie developers and we arn't exactly a huge region of gameing in comparison to US/Japan, but it would be nice if we had one say in sydney or brisbane etc.

or even any large gameing meet of some description (not lans ) please someone inform me

Nintendo Gaming / good news
« on: March 12, 2003, 05:49:42 PM »
couldn't see another post with this info, so thought i would add it here, given its EA themed

EA and nintendo team up

for those too lazy, it says that EA and Nintendo are teaming up for games (20 aprently in production, not sure if all 20 will be from this team) for gamecube and gameboy, with EA doing  the creative side and non other than Shigeru Miyamoto, providing input on technical game play elements

good news indeed

the link has some other interesting news articles reguarding a new prince of persia to be developed by Ubi Soft, and other assorted info

Nintendo Gaming / what game wouldn't you buy for $10?
« on: March 12, 2003, 05:17:53 PM »
i was ready to lose it there reverse gekko i only scrolled the page down just enough to see the top part of your post, dont do that again
but i do agree with you about the money aspect of games, ill buy a game cause i want it, not cause of the price (aslong as they arn't stupidly high) would just take me a bit longer before i got the game given i cant save money for the life of me

2937
2003 could yeild either interesting results for nintendo, or possibly could plod along at the same possition happy in the knowledge they are still being very profitable, "the capcom 5" (i hate saying thigs like that for some reason) could sway some xbox/ps2/pc owners to pick up a cube possibly more than any other title in the release schedual (im ignoring zelda for the reason that you either love it or you dont, and would only pull old nintedo fans back rather than convert new ones (strictly my opinion))

nintendo will allways beat an american company in its homeland, just the way of the world

/me wanders off topic for a moment

hush wee onion best advise i can give you is 1# older gamers own (/me recalls a recent topic where i discovered the majority of this forum's users are 20-30) 2# dont retaliate, just leads to ghey l4m3 flame warefare, which ive not seen on this forum, and damn glad about it too

2938
i thought all nintendo stuff had a life time warrenty. ohwell my bad, thanks for the tip though, perhaps i can get my 64 fixed (died right before i got my gcn)

Nintendo Gaming / Gamecube Internet
« on: March 12, 2003, 04:29:46 PM »
yes, im kinda on the opinion of stay away from online consoles, but then most games i like wouldn't really work online (baring pokemon, which if done right would fully change my opinon of online consoles )

pc's are quicker and easier to access online gameing with, and you would be hard put to not be able to find a clone of what ever game you wanted to play online on console, there are that many fps' around, all pretty much as good as each other

i do find it interesting that uncle ed says that xbawx live isnt really stable, given its bband only, ohwell not my problem i dont own an xbawx

also, its good to hear that nintendo dont want to charge to play the games, thats a load off my mind should they do decide to go online (naturally i would have a looky, see if my opionin changes) cause im going to start playing everquest, and well, i couldn't really afford alot of p2p games

Nintendo Gaming / Music in Games
« on: March 08, 2003, 08:21:50 PM »
i rate videogame music very highly as i said somewhere else in this forum i have the Chrono Trigger soundtrack and Ocarina of Time soundtrack (still in transit)
i want the phantasy star online album, and prolly metroid from the snes

but to actually put something worth while to the topic if the music is done poorly i enjoy games less, alot of games i had on the 64 (im kinda too sick to remember which ones) i used the volume down feature on the music which i think is a shame, if developers had more time then music would be better

... im rambleing now, gah im going to bed =\

unless it has a complete monopoly then by defintion it has the best games

im exactly the same i possibly could have completed OoT alot quicker than i did, but i tended to stray off and go fishing alot the thrill of catching a bigger fish than before was exciting (and tense trying to reel it in) back before i knew where exactly to get the 20 pounder ofcourse

General Gaming / Dreamcast games
« on: February 26, 2003, 02:48:53 AM »
Pso on dreamcast is still very popular (i last played at my mates about 1-2 months ago)
OMG marvel vs capcom, i would give my left testical for an IDENTICAL port for that on the gamecube, its THAT fun, best beat 'em up EVER in my humble wee opinion infact, im still considering buying a dreamcast from Ebay cause i love this game so much

cannon spike (i think) is a pretty good game too, allbeit a little short, but it does have megaman in it thats a fun novelty in its own

Nintendo Gaming / Wireless Game Boy
« on: February 26, 2003, 02:33:21 AM »
thats a capitol idea, but it possibly could run the batteries down a fair bit, i may be walking down the wrong path here correct me if im wrong, but with the wavebird its just sending commands, with the wireless link up for gba it would have to send and recieve and for the gameboys little AA batteries could possibly have problems

also.. it would be a minor problem, but say 2 friends were at school trading pokemon (for arguments sake) and another 2 friends on the other side of the classroom were doing the same, if they were all on the same frequency wouldn't that cause the gameboys to be confused and possibly end up with miss sent data?
