thats a hell of a deal Lord_die_seis, too bad their online site has Hotel Dusk, Phoenix Wright JFA, and a few others temporarily out of stock for online purchasers.  Looks like I'm gonna have to get up, start the old car up, and drive to a ToysRus.

Again the numbers all match up to what the EVs should be doing but the outcome didn't.

As for Dragonite, he just used normal moves (no items went off while he did the moves nor was the move an extreme speed or quick attack style move).

It's weird I know so like I said don't bother with EVs . . .lol.

It's a trick!  He just doesn't want us to EV train, because he works for Peta!

Why does that sound familiar.......ah, Megaman!

Nintendo Gaming / NWR - Pokemon League (Fav5/1 Teams)
« on: June 20, 2007, 04:49:56 PM »
NWR - Pokemon League Tournament Members Only!

Follow these rules!
Only post in this thread once, do not reply again, EVER.  If u must say something to somebody please PM them using the pad lock icon on their post.  You may update your team by clicking the edit button on your post.  Do not post here asking for Friend Codes, posting Friend Codes, asking for invitations to NWR - Pokemon League Tournament, or anything but to list your Fav5/1 Team.

Now for an explanation the "Fav5/1 Team" is basically a list of 5 of your pokemon, their move lists, and hold items.  Your sixth and last pokemon is kept a secret, you do not need to reveal anything of its nature at all.  During a Tournament you may not change your team, however you may update your team and edit your team's posting here as much as you like but on the 2 days before the tournament.

Also some tournament rounds will only be 4vs4 while others may be 6vs6, please list your team in order for 4vs4 rounds.  In other words your first 3 Pokemon listed are to be the 3 pokemon (plus your "kicker" pokemon) that will play in a 4vs4 round.  While in a tournament you may still decide the order of your pokemon for battle(i.e. round 1 you can use a Gyrados first and in round 2 you may use him last).

If you have a question PM me.

Here is my team (use this as an example how to post your team):

1.  Abomasnow (Sitrus Berry)
-  Wood Hammer
-  Blizzard
-  Swagger
-  Ingrain

2.  Gyrados (Shell Bell)
-  Waterfall
-  Surf
-  Dragon Rage
-  Rain Dance

3.  Charizard (Sitrus Berry)
-  Flamethrower
-  Slash
-  Toxic
-  Protect

4.  Bastiodon (Sitrus Berry)
-  Hyper Beam
-  Metal Burst
-  Metal Defense
-  Swaggar

5.  Drapion (Sitrus Berry)
-  Poison Fang
-  Pin Missle
-  Acupressure
-  Toxic Spikes

Seems like a good idea, but then again Contra's last gen outings have been outright crappy.  If they keep the 2-D in, that should at least be something positive.

wtf?  maybe you should do an experiment on it, make sure you fight the exact same pokemon and use all the same attacks and log the results.  Remember to log critical hits and etc.

I say what pokemon work for you and are most comfortable may be the best team for you.  For one you will know their weaknesses and strengths better.  That's why I've stuck my Lopunny in almost all my matches, and almost always knock out 1-2 pokemon with it.

well the way i see it is if a non EV'd Charizard is hit with say surf and dies, I'd bet a EV'd Charizard would still die too.  Personally I think EVing only helps the weak or mediocre to become either mediocre or decent.  Sure you can increase your Alakazam's SP Attack but chances are its SP Attack is high enough anyways that you are just wasting your time.

Saturday's Tournament went pretty well....

Here's the breakdown:

WuTangTurtle won the tournament

1.  WuTangTurtle   4-1
2(tie).  Mashiro      3-2
2(tie).  Toruresu    3-2
3.  Shast                0-5

Round by Round:
(parenthesis acknowledge your overall tournament standing)
*matches shown in reverse order.

Mashiro(6)               defeated      Shast(7)
WuTangTurtle(3)     defeated      Toruresu(4)
Mashiro(6)               defeated      Shast(7)
WuTangTurtle(3)     defeated      Toruresu(4)
Toruresu(4)             defeated      Shast(7)
WuTangTurtle(3)     defeated      Mashiro(6)
Mashiro(7)               defeated      Shast(6)
Toruresu(6)             defeated      WuTangTurtle(3)
Toruresu(7)             defeated      Mashiro(6)
WuTangTurtle(3)     defeated      Shast(5)

So as you can see, yours truly has officially bounced back from a 0-5 outing from a tournament ago.  Mashiro's EV comeback didn't go as planned.  Shast..........he got Shafted this time around (sorry Shast but I had to use that word, lol).  Last but not least a new challenger, Toruresu, arrives and nearly steals the show!

I look forward to more of this kind of action, it was some nice furious kinda fun.  Till next time guys!

P.S. Forget about fearing my Lopunny shaming you, aBobInSnow is snowplowing everyone away lol.

I don't IV train to perfection (which would require an absurd amount of time and lots of rare candies) but the EVs are easy to do with a Gamefaq list and a calculator haha.

I look forward to playing this week, 5 of my guys are now complete and ready to roll! Just deciding on what the 6th should be...

Oh and on a random side note, I beat the first Tycoon fight in the battle tower today...word lol.

You would also need to catch/breed the right pokemon with the right "nature" if you really want to be a perfectionist.  Oh and congrats to Mashiro for winning his first fight in the battle tower, personally I still haven't beaten the elite 4 yet

Now some semi important news!
I've recently added some nice links back to NWR Home, Forum, and Chat in order to make things easier for people.  I've also just added 2 new polls to the main page.  Go check em out!

I think the only movie licensed games I've bought or enjoyed were:

Goldeneye (N64)
Naruto
Terminator the arcade game (lightgun)
Demolition Man (SNES)

so in total thats 4 games in the last +20yrs.

And sadly when ppl say "slightly above average, it can and most likely means above 5 out of 10.

Nintendo Gaming / Secret files of Tunguska
« on: June 13, 2007, 08:14:30 AM »
Secret files of Tunguska will be coming to the Wii and DS.  Yes it is a port, but on the bright side it is a point and click adventure.  This may or may not be your type of genre but if u liked Trace Memory, Phoenix Wright, Hotel Dusk, Touch Detective, etc you might like this one too.

I'll be keeping this on my radar.

.....im still waiting for either battletoads & double dragons or TMNT in time for beat 'em ups.  Oh and an almost unheard of game called Brawl Brothers on SNES.

looks amazing if u ask me.  The way i see it, as long as it performs better than Perfect Dark FPS wise, its still very much playable.

unfortunately there doesn't seem to be much RPG's to be found anywhere on any of the 3 consoles.  Personally I'm waiting to see what Bethseda does with Fallout 3, its only for PC though...

I don't know how HDR lighting or Bloom lighting works exactly but in terms of lighting in general, there seems to be a lack of it in the environments.  The trees don't seem to be accepting lights very well for example, everything seems to just be completely self-illuminated or unlit almost.

Also some of the trees look like @ss, then again most big devs have licensed out a tree generator program (simply add numbers, and push sliders around to make trees).

Overall I like the concept a lot, the re-animation mechanic is very refreshing.  I'd love to see how far they can take that mechanic and make a great game out of it.

Bad news:

EA Friend Codes

As of now EA will be conducting their own friend code system, unless Nintendo fixes things it would seem EA will stick to their own friend code system.

thnx to the elite 4 it no longer likes me as much.....(i can't get past the 4th person)

the funny thing is Lopunny isn't really that good at all, but out of all my Pokemon so far it has been one of my most stable pokemon.  As for that last match against Shecy, ur lucky i deleted the move foresight, otherwise my Lopunny could have destroyed ur Gengar.  Also I was able to get u down to just your Gengar, and took half of its life without landing a single blow.  If i had just one more Pokemon to withstand Gengar's attacks, Gengar would have died from Hail/Swagger.
