Nintendo Gaming / RE: Samba De Amigo for the Wii?
« on: August 24, 2007, 04:11:27 PM »
That'd true. I hope if they make it, they outsource it to someone like iNiS or Namco, with only the concept and the character coming from Sega.

I haaaaaaaaate Bowser Jr.

And I don't think Diddy Kong's moveset is likely to resemble DK's moveset in any meaningful way.

I don't think Birdo has ever been a villain in a Yoshi game.

Yeah, it looks big. It might be a random thing, like getting a Bob-omb instead of a turnip. Maybe they'll have a variety of shapes and sizes, instead of just funny faces.

I hope that the Mario Kart stage has an epic medley of all the great Mario Kart songs.

Something along the lines of Mario Kartopia:

It's possible that there won't be any image of Kawashima, just because Nintendo's legal right to his likeness may be limited to the Brain Age series itself. I don't know what the fact of the matter is, but that's enough to make me doubt its likelyhood.

Clearly, they're kidnapping all the princesses, hoping to find the princess that holds the missing meteorite piece, to merge the dimensions.

It would have to be 2-D to 2-D, and when the stage flips, everyone would be in the exact same spot (horizontally, that is). The "flip and be over a pit" scenario would be impossible unless everyone was every time, which would kinda ruin the point. It would not play out anywhere near as interesting as in the actual Super Paper Mario game.

Nah, picture it this way: the characters remain in the same position on the screen, but the level rotates 90 degrees around them. It could work.

That said, I'd honestly rather have a stage from Paper Mario 64 than one from Super Paper Mario.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: New franchises that need to be present in Brawl
« on: August 21, 2007, 04:19:13 PM »
What do you have against it EBA in Brawl? I think the characters embody the DS as much as, if not more than, the Nintendogs. I don't expect there to be a playable character (which is a shame, because dance-moves-as-attacks would be humorous and effective) but at least a sticker to acknowledge the games' existence. I mean, come on, the Wild Gunman guy got a sticker.

I also hope to see the Kawashima-head, as a sticker or trophy. I've also mentioned before that I feel Metroid Prime Pinball deserves some sort of nod. That game was clever, dangit.

Also, does this thread have to be limited to new franchises? Some old ones have been overlooked in the past, and that could be rectified in Brawl. For instance:
Wario Land. The new Wario seems to be all-WarioWare, all the time. There needs to be some shoulder-dashing and some Kitchen Island in this one.

Super Paper Mario sounded a bit like Kingdom Hearts, storywise. This is... less similar.

Still, more R.O.B. love. I wonder if they'll start selling them again? Maybe for Gyromite on VC? Heh.

I think between assist trophies, stickers, and minute cameos in the story mode, I think they're going to reference every Nintendo character ever. Anyone whose favorite series isn't represented in some way will have the right to be seriously offended.

I intend to be seriously offended when the EBA/Ouendan series isn't at least a sticker... T_T

At first I didn't care about the lack of DVD support, but switching the cables on the back of my TV is getting annoying, and the Wii remote would be a good way to navigate DVD menus.

Good to know. I won't do this mod, but it does mean there's hope that I won't need to buy a new Wii... I'd pay for a "dongle" or a software upgrade.

It should be like Soul Caliber 2, and have a different character for each system.

On Wii, it should be Samus.

Regarding: Kid Icarus Passwords

Look at the upper left corner of this box:

"Password Pak." Sounds like a piece of hardware to me. That's probably why the Wii doesn't emulate it.

It's nice to see the official render of the new model, though. It's a lot more detailed than the Melee version was (surprisingly so) and it has a great balance between matching Brawl's more realistic style and looking very much like the cartoon version of Peach.

Melee vs. Brawl:

It's too bad he didn't do the combo-update like he does for new characters; it'd be nice to see what her final smash is. Maybe tomorrow.

PS Peach is hawt.

There's a homebrew ukulele simulator for DS... but it's more along the lines of Jam Sessions than Guitar Hero. In fact, I'm pretty sure Jam Sessions is just a rip off of Ukulele DS.
