Take your time, pace yourself on the puzzles. The atmosphere is nice but the story starts inane and remains inane.

I bet there are moai in the backgrounds.

I'd like if it has a Mario Paint style music editor. Or hell, just port the exact music editor from Mario Paint.

179
I don't think Wii Music will be the same type of game as Rock Band, really. It'll certainly be different enough for some people to buy both, especially when Wii Music won't require an expensive peripheral.

Dr. Mario 64 had roughly 16-bit graphics: http://www.mobygames.com/images/i/31/26/541726.jpeg

This Wii version has simple graphics, but it's a needless insult to suggest that the 64 version is better.

Donkey Konga is a fun game. Play it with drumsticks and you'll be fine.

Or you adding "friends" who you don't actually know or speak to.

Not trying to place the blame on you, as I agree it's an inane system choice that there's no notification.

I'd have to agree with Shyguy.

I don't want to put words into Shiggy's mouth, but I think he is a fan of the immersive nature of a first person perspective.

It seems that Shiggy is more interested in the first person PERSPECTIVE, not necessarily the shooter aspect of it. His comments all pertain to the perspective, and not the gameplay genre.

Gamers seem to have a pretty limited vocabulary when it comes to genres.

I really hated the Temple of the Ocean King sequence in The World Ends With You.

I do want to know this.  Since this is episodic content why not just split it up a little and lower the price?

Episodes still have beginnings and endings. You can't just chop it up. Although it feels like they did that with LostWinds...

I'd actually like it (and almost expect it) to be somewhere between Mario Galaxy, LostWinds, and Phantom Hourglass, with Link's movement controlled by the nunchuk but with the cursor and motion controls constantly being used for interaction with the environment as well as various tools and weapons.

188
I do find it weird that the Zelda games, despite supposedly taking place hundreds of years apart, all seem to be stuck in the same era. I liked that Twilight Princess at least took a couple small steps toward an almost Victorian look.

Wile I was happy with the game, it did feel less like an episode and more like a chapter. They could have made the end cutscene a bit more climactic and I would have been fooled, though.

As long as the next one has all new environments, I'll be happy to buy it.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: Nintendo Channel DS Demo Downloads
« on: May 13, 2008, 11:21:09 PM »
Brain Age 2 has "Virus Buster," but I doubt that's in the demo.

I hope that Nintendo's adding of Brain Age foreshadows more demos of older games, such as (wait for it...) Elite Beat Agents.

I do think the timestamps on the 3rd Party games are a bit odd... makes it seem more like an ad. Still, cool that the Apollo Justice demo is up.

Yeah, I was thinking. From a gameplay perspective, a gun would just be a faster version of the bow. It's not hard to imagine Link using a magical/steampunk-looking gun, but it's harder to imagine a reason why it'd be necessary.

192
Imagine, time travel in a Zelda game? That would be a travesty.

I remember someone once edited Wikipedia to say that Cho Aniki was "possibly the most overtly homosexual game in existence, with the exception of Phoenix Wright."

I liked finding places to use "anyone - hardcore." Like Bomberman. Anyone can pick up and play Bomberman, but then it's serious business.

Watch the Professor Layton trailer if you haven't. The animation is great.

I hope they add trailers to more pages, and older DS demos, in addition to new ones going forward. EBA could use a demo, and the Apollo Justice trailer is absent.

I heard that Sakurai has Miyamoto's picture pinned to a dart board in his office

Apparently, you heard right.

I love that song! And that actually reminds me, you'll get a kick out of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=psy7IFSYRSE

I think if someone tried to "chaingrab" me when playing Brawl, I'd be justified in punching them in real life. That's just good, old-fashioned annoying.

Yeah... plus having so many computer players basically means you can sit there and not do anything and your team could just as easily win...

I assume they chose retro stages that weren't included among the retro stages in MKDS, hence no Baby Park.
