I think it's because a lot of the humor relies on running gags and such built up over the course of the episode. Also, the trailers tend to be more artsy than funny sometimes. Going for a kind of Andy Kaufman funny.

Conversely, if the game's music is comprised of midis recorded into ogg, then it is a big waste of space, eh?

It's interesting that we have this game coming out and we also have Wario Land Shake coming out, so we can really compare this no-frills retro game to that amped-up retro-style game. I think there's a place for both types.

Is anybody still waiting for their copy of T&T from Capcom? Haha. I mean, besides Europe, haha. I'll be here all week.

(P.S. Panties lol)

Well, there's different policies for different games.

Smash Bros/Mario Kart: One per system
Mario Party: As many as we can churn out
Pokemon: 3 per generation (MAIN SERIES RULE ONLY)

Mario Party has been more or less annual.

I was going to get this, then I discovered it's going to look and play exactly like the NES games. No deal.

When were you going to get it? Didn't they announce the 8-bit style at the exact same time they announced the game?

but rather than the clicky lightswitch, inset a nice touch screen in the body and let me use a DS-type pick/stylus to strum.

It's funny that with GH4's "touch sensitive" controller, they didn't think of that. Wouldn't even have to be a screen, just a little touch pad, and using it for strumming would be a thousand times better than whatever they actually plan to use their touch pad for.

Did I miss the boat when everybody started hating Smash Mouth and Maroon 5? They're mediocre bands, but they aren't raping your ears.

Nothing stopping you from drinking beers while playing the game anyway.

You guys might enjoy this quote from a Nintendo Power interview with Sakurai:

NP: What aspect of creating a video game do you enjoy the most?

Sakurai: I enjoy freely manipulating objects that are displayed on a TV screen.

Really, Sakurai haters will find a lot to ridicule in this interview. All the guy cares about is making the game fun, in the old-fashioned sense.

LOL fanbois are just bending over for the latest company. har har Vicarious Viagras

I was just making a joke based on their recent Guitar Hero thing (which I haven't played), but they've been making surprisingly decent handheld ports at least as far back as Tony Hawk for the GBA (which I also haven't played), so I figure they'd be a decent studio to tackle Smash Bros DS.

I know that.

That makes it even stranger that they still haven't ported them to the DS.

I wonder why they haven't (officially) ported Doom and Wolfenstein to the DS. I've played the homebrew ports, and they work extremely well.

EA Exec 1: Boogie wasn't very good. Should we improve it for the sequel?
EA Exec 2: Nah, just market it to girls. They won't notice that it sucks.

Yeah. I never had a Sega when I was a kid, but going back and playing some of those games now, they just feel different from Nintendo games.

Yeah. A plug-and-play TV game is expected to cost 20-30 dollars. Any more than that and people will frown upon it. And at 30 dollars, good luck with licensed songs and DLC.

Maybe a keytar. Eheh.

Actually, for a keyboard game, you could have it so that there are, let's say, 20 keys, but it's the same 5 colors repeated 4 times. It'd work.

I don't know. In their current state, these instrument games are still more of a video game than a musical instrument, and while non-gamers may enjoy them, it seems like most of the people who would pay money for a video game instrument are the sorts of people who already own game consoles.

No need to hurry to catch up. You'll have plenty of time to play all those games during the drought.

I think it'd be funny if they add support for any USB memory devices, but it was the exact same kind of support that the SD drive has, and therefore misses the point entirely.

When you say censored do you mean the SNES version or the Neo Geo version? Cuz I was unaware of Neo Geo games ever being censored.

Neo Geo games were sometimes censored. I think it was some internal hardware switch.

Does SNK really have much going for them anymore outside of old games they rerelease like mad?

They have a successful Witch Touching franchise.
