From looking at the Club Nintendo NA site, the game also gets you 30 coins.

I'm surprised that the game only costs US$19.99. Pretty cool. I hope the game gets a good reception. Or any reception in this busy holiday season.

I wouldn't mind a cosmic Legend of Zelda where you interact and fight against or fight alongside Nayru, Din, and Farore.

It's really weird that Skyward Sword barely even pays lip service to those characters, considering the role they played in Hyrule's creation.  I guess we'll probably see that story the next time Nintendo decides to create a "true" beginning to the Zelda timeline.

Mm hm. To be fair, the three goddesses are hardly mentioned in The Wind Waker and Twilight Princess (at least to my recollection). I have never played Majora's Mask. From what I've read about that game, it doesn't seem it talks about the three goddesses much. This is in contrast to Ocarina of Time where entire cut scenes are devoted to the creation myth that involves the three goddesses.

And now we have Skyward Sword throwing a fourth goddess in the mix. Maybe Rosalina can make a cameo sometime.

So what did FFX-2 come in at for week 1?

Also, it came out the same week as the Vita... which sucked a lot of money out of the room.

VGchartz has it pegged at around 1.5 million. Pretty crazy if you forget it's a Square-Enix game. I'm curious to see if next few weeks will show Final Fantasy XIII-2's debut to be a sign of things to come or displacement from by the Playstation Vita. I hope it isn't the former because it seems like Square-Enix really tried to make XIII-2 a better sequel that fans will find more pleasing.

It's a shame, but I guess all this is to be expected?

It's even easier to do things the way Nintendo likes to and do whatever they feel like, continuity be damned.

This is the same logic which killed Star Trek.

Never got the feeling that some Star Trek TV series were damning continuity. If anything, the series (i.e. Voyager and Enterprise) were trying to do something new while simultaneously being told to retread the old and suffered because of the two pulls.

You want to see someone damn a series continuity, look at Macross. Only there will you find a TV series and a pair of TV-series-adapting movies that have wildly different endings because the series director doesn't care if they are different as long as they are good story.

Yahtzee always doesn't sound like he doesn't like anything in those videos. That's the shtick. Some of his favorite games of a given year got video reviews from him where it sounds like he didn't like it that much. Case in point, Just Cause 2.

As for his complaints on the game, they are nothing new. While he was talking of Fi, I was reminded that I'm not bothered much with her boring interactions. At least not yet as I near what I assume is to be the water-themed dungeon of the game. My tolerance may be due to surrendering myself to the slow pace of the game as evident to the fact I no longer bother to hold the 'A' button to make the text display (slightly) faster.

I'd much rather that this was kept a secret to everybody as it was fun guessing how messed up it is as opposed to knowing exactly how messed up it is.

There's an absolutely silly amount of stuff that adapts from the Three Kingdoms period (Sangoku) and Japan's Warring States era (Sengoku). Considering the amount of characters, action, and drama of the history, it's not hard to see why. Kind of makes me wish we saw such adapting from other histories, for better and for worse. Then again, it seems only in Japan and Asia are accepting of weird and/or crazy interpretations of history.

Oh well, doesn't stop western works that are allegories to wars and such from being made.

I guess it is safe to assume that there is no chance that it will be the latest hardware? Well, assuming that Nintendo is tweaking the design of the console and the controller.

Still, this is a chance to hear more detailed impression on the system.

Stick to the british TV series "Sherlock". Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman are considerably better than Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law. Less blow-stuff-up-wowzy and more wit and classy writing.

It's a shame that there are currently only three 90-minute episodes because the show is really fun. The next series/season airs in 2012.01 and will be another three 90-minute episodes. Ah, I've been waiting for so long for the second series/season.

Reading off the release calendar is nice, but the segment was rather lengthy. Also it was frustrating to hear when none of the panelists knew anything about a particular title. For the future, how about a standing rule that if anyone knows any information on an upcoming title, then that person will comment immediately if the person wants to share. If no one knows anything, then the show will bowl through the release list to the next item.

The Rayman segment was nice. I'll be sure to grab a copy for myself in the future.

I can't shake the odd thought that this crossover might be the moment when Pokemon sells out/jumps the shark  (for the lack of better words).
I'm curious, of the dozens of spin-offs released over the years, what makes this one different/worse? Not even Pokémon Teaches Typing reached that point? To me it seems like the Pokémon franchise was designed to sell out.

Heh, indeed.
The difference that sparked my odd thought is that this is a full character-to-character crossover with another long-running series. This differs from the mystery dungeon games where it was just (from what I understand) Pokemon characters slammed in to the mystery dungeon style. Also, it's a collaboration with the Koei side of Tecmo-Koei, a company that has received some flak for the popular Musou/Warriors series. Of course, this collaboration is with a Koei strategy series and those series are regarded better.

Ah, I'm not making much sense. A full-on series crossover project is such a rare thing for Nintendo to do that it has frazzled me. I just don't know what exactly to make of it! However, I'm curious and eager to see how this game turns out.

Gundam 00 had some fun things around it, at least the first season where there were three governments.

This is silly and ridiculous in a fun way.

I can't shake the odd thought that this crossover might be the moment when Pokemon sells out/jumps the shark  (for the lack of better words). Given how much Pokemon merchandise there is and that some spin-off games have been bad, it is an odd thought indeed. This crossover looks like harmless fun. I hope it will packed with weird but great moments.

Good to hear that the L button can be easily pressed with the Circle Pad Pro attached. I was worried it would become hard to use when I was looking at pictures of the 3DS with the Circle Pad Pro.
