I don't have a very interesting launch day story. I went to K-Mart and bought mine when they opened up. Turns out I was the only person smart enough to goto K-Mart cuz nobody else in Twin Falls shopped there, they all waited in line for days over at all the big stores and I just walked in, grabbed my Wii and went home.

How can you take these characters seriously?Stuff that does bother me is Baby Mario co-existing with Mario in Mario Kart. Yeah it's just a racing game but it just reaks of Nintendo not giving a f*ck because it's just product. They're the SAME CHARACTER. How the hell do they co-exist? Am I just taking it too seriously?Then, Smash Bros. must really drive you nuts. Imagine that game if you couldn't choose the same character in multiplayer. How can Mario fight himself? AHHH!
It's no different then in Mortal Kombat when you have Scorpion facing Scorpion. They called it a Mirror Match (in the book it even said you would face a doppelganger of your self)
So that settles that.

Ok so I was at a Thrift store shopping for inventory for the site, and I come across a ton of old Atari games for $.50 each so naturally I snatch them up. As I am digging through the games this guy standing next to me ask me if I have the player for those games. So I say yes, and proceed to tell him how I have the other consoles as well for the different types of games.
Ok so he tells me he has this case of Atari 2600 games in his basement and he was going to just toss them out cuz he needs to clean out his basement, so instead of throwing them away he just GIVES them to me. So I grab up another 18 Atari games and now I have enough to put all the good stuff on the site and have extras left over to keep. I am now a happy camper.

wait Lohan, Nude, now I am torn, should I respect her even less, or give into temptation?
I don't see this Natalie Portman as being as hot as some say. She was ok in Episode I. but pretty hot in II. Aside from SW I haven't seen her in anything else and Episode 3 did not do well for her.

I am with Pap here but I am kinda the opposite really. I grew up on Mario games for the most part. I remember back in the old NES days I would read the instruction manuals to get the story and my sisters and I fell in love with the Mario story right off the bat and would re-enact it as often as we could until it eventually developed into a bigger adventure that we are currently turning into a book and hopefully a movie.
I stopped taking Mario games seriously with Mario Party 1. I love the Mario Party games but they killed the characters for me. It was like the games no longer were serious and there was no longer any danger to them. I remember being terrified and my heart was racing when I got to World 8 for the first time, and that feeling stuck with me till I beat the game.
It was the same with Mario Bros 2, 3 and World. Especially Mario 64 when you walk into that room for the first time and a now GIANT sized Bowser is staring you in the face, your heart skips a beat and you start to get into the game.
Then along came Mario Party and the Spin offs and I think of those spin offs as not just different characters but different universe altogether. I think of it like this, Mario Kart, Part, Golf, Tennis, etc those are like the Super Mario Bros. Movie, true Mario story and characters, just in a diferent mythos than what I put the "real" Mario games in. I lump Mario Bros, Super Mario Bros, SMB3, SMW, Mario RPG, Mario 64 and the GB Mario games into that universe. I put the spin offs into an "Alternate Universe" category and that is how I can still take the characters and story seriously but not the other stuff.
Also Nintendo kinda sorta made the Luigi-Daisy thing official with the movie that they deny exists.

« on: April 02, 2008, 10:39:49 AM »Speaking to the Dallas Morning News, Pachter said he believes the Wii shortage was caused by the weak U.S. dollar. By selling excess product in European countries with a strong Euro, Nintendo makes more profit when the money is exchanged to their native Yen.
I seem to recall reading that Nintendo keeps all its monies in U.S. Dollars, so the Euro/Yen exchange rate shouldn't be an issue. The Euro/Dollar exchange rate might be, I suppose.
I don't know where to look for confirmation on what I just wrote. Does anyone know for sure?
I read that in their stock report, they blame the exchange between US and Yen for their stock prices going down.

I never played games while driving, but my friend had his PSP attached to his steering wheel so he could play PSP while driving. He never killed anyone or himself but he did break his PSP when he slammed on the breaks and hit the steering wheel.

It was the first game I ever played for N64 outside of a store demo of Mario 64. It wasn't the best game ever but like most VC games, it is associated with better times and better memories.
