I really don't care about another Castlevania GBA unless they do something different with the series. I mean I love the Castlevania series but I'm really getting sick of the Castlevaina/Metroid thing that Iga seems obsessed with. At the very least make it so you can go outside the castle into towns, forest, etc like you could in Simon's Quest. Frankly though I really want to see an old school style Castlevania. Something like Castlevania 3 or Rondo of Blood would be great.

Uh, please don't hijack this thread and turn it into a LotR vs Star Wars discussion. You can make your own thread for that. I made this thread with the intention of sharing the birth of Darth Vader art so there could be a discussion about that and Episode III as a whole. Frankly, I didn't want it to become a prequel bitch fest either. I've had an ass full of why and how much the prequels suck so I don't see why it needs to be done here. Hell, I was reading an IGN.com review of Flight of the Falcon for the GBA and the reviewer had to pointlessly mention how much the prequels suck. The damn game doesn't even have anything to do with the prequel movies.

Miyamoto said in an interview a few months back that they were aiming for a 2004 holiday release in Japan. That means the US won't see it until sometime in early 2005.

Hmm, I got 4 Zelda games on one disk for $20 so I really don't see myself spending another $20 to get just The Legend of Zelda on the GBA. It would be cool to be able to play The Legend of Zelda anywhere though  but these things are overpriced period. Like everyone else is saying they should have bundled like 3 carts together and then sold them for $20. Hell, they could have even put all of these games on one cart and charged $20 for it.

Oh dear lord. I thought we had seen the end of this "MAEK Z3LDA DARK3R1!111 WTF" crap. That's all I saw on Zelda boards before and shortly after Wind Waker was released.

Quite frankly you don't get the Zelda series if you feel cel-shading doesn't fit the series. Go play your "mature", violent, bloody games with big polygonal breasts and leave the Zelda series alone.

Nintendo Gaming / 4 New Zero Mission Vids.
« on: January 10, 2004, 07:28:47 PM »
Nintendo.com has updated their Zero Mission page with 4 new vids. They are really amazing. Click here to check them out. This game is going to be great. The graphics are absolutely gorgeous. I also liked how while the gameplay has been updated and modernized it has a distinct old school feel to it. I really hope that is something that Nintendo will do with all of its series.

Speaking of the graphics, I haven't played a ton of GBA games, but would anyone else agree that these are the best graphics seen on the GBA yet?

Yeah, that's Ganon's Tower. I think I know what you are talking about too. There was a bridge and at the bottom of the screen at the end of the bridge there was a platform but it appeared there was no way to get over there. The only way to get over there was to have your back toward the platform and do a running dash into a piece of railing on the bridge. When you hit the railing you were knocked backwards and onto the platform. It was the only way to get into the room and wasn't very obvious since it was the only time you had to use that technique in the game so it's probably the room you are talking about.

Nah, this was something that 1asphost.com put up, not the mods. I e-mailed them about it and they said they don't want anyone posting images that they have hosted on their site. Kind of ruins the whole point doesn't it? What's also stupid is that they don't want anyone to use their "hosting" service for storage either. So just what the hell are you supposed to be able to do you ediots? Ugh.

Is using an image that you have uploaded to a hosting site as your avatar considered hotlinking? I've been using 1asphost.com to host my avatar for a very long time, but as of tonight my avatar has been replaced with a stupid pic saying that I'm hotlinking and it's against the rules. I know a lot of other people use 1asphost.com to host their avatars, so what the hell is the deal?

Could you describe the area? You are talking about Ganon's Tower, right?

Well, if you aren't into Star Wars then I suppose it wouldn't be a big deal. For a Star Wars fan it is a big deal because it is the climax of the prequel movies. That scene is the entire reason for them. Everything else is leading up to that moment. It's just like Vader destroying the Emperor in Jedi was the climax of the Original Trilogy. The prequels are about Anakin's fall and the Original Trilogy is about his redemption. So yeah it's a big deal to Star Wars fans.

If this topic was about the Matrix or The Lord of the Rings then none of you would have a problem with it.

Holy Crap!!! Click here to check out a thread at the theforce.net message boards in which a piece of concept art for the birth of Darth Vader was posted. There's a bigger version of the pic if you scroll down a few posts. From everything I've read this is supposed to be official concept art.

WOW!!!

Yeah. More than likely Wind Waker 2 will revolve around Link and Tetra finding a new land.

Okay, I see what the problem is. I should have said that Wind Waker 2 will probably be about the same size as Majora's Mask instead of shorter than Wind Waker. Basically what I meant is that it will probably have less dungeons and a smaller over-world much like Majora's Mask. Hopefully like Majora's Mask it will also have more content (side quests, etc.) to stretch the game out. Frankly Wind Waker could've had more content. Exchanging deep and involving side quests for deep sea treasure searching was a terrible idea and felt cheap. One thing that really irritated me about Wind Waker is that it used almost nothing from Majora's Mask and instead was a simplified version of Ocarina of Time with a whole lot of boring sailing.

Remember they have two dungeons alredy planned out that they didn't put in WW. MM was hardly shorter than OoT, and it's beeen given around the same development time. Why would they release a shorter product? Unlike when WW was being developed, the Cube already has a decent library of games. A stellar game 6 months later would do more good than a mediocre game 6 months sooner.

EDIT: Thanks Bill

I don't know which version of Majora's Mask you played but the one I played was considerably shorter than Ocarina of Time. For one thing Majora's Mask only had 4 full dungeons while Ocarina of Time had 8 not counting the final dungeons. In fact Majora's Mask has the least amount of dungeons out of all the Zelda games. Also the over-world was about half the size of Ocarina of Time's. This was something that Nintendo themselves said. Just to make this clear I don't think Majora's Mask is a bad game. In fact I think in many ways it's superior to Ocarina of Time, but the fact is that it is a shorter game.

I forgot about them already having those two dungeons made that were cut from Wind Waker though. They should definitely be able to get this game out within a year with that in mind.

I dont want it to be rushed. I want a nice long game with a great, deep plot like OoT that will tie in nicely to the rest of the storyline. I want it to be better that WW, because thats what making new games is about: improvment.

Besides we are talking about Nintendo here and Miyamoto's star series. They aren't going to release a half assed game.

Okay, here's a free tip:

When you first start the game, go in the cave and get the sword.  The game is much easier with the sword.

Hehehe. lol

EDIT:  By the way if you think LoZ is hard wait till you play AoL. Without a doubt the hardest Zelda game.
