You think late 2023? Switch came out on March 3rd. I'm not sure Nintendo cares about releasing everything in the Winter anymore.

because Switch has been out for 4 years I think branding is now a sort of issue. The Wii was very popular, but had dropped off tremendously by the last years. When Wii U came out there was brand confusion as everyone thought it was an addon and not a system itself.

It's too bad I decided to come out as the killer on the April fools game. I forgot about that strategy.

If everyone wasn't the killer that would have been an interesting strategy.

There are still 12 players left. Some are mafia and one is the killer.

Clearly Nickmitch was not the killer. When I said you could be in the above post I said I had nothing to back that up. Feelings are pretty worthless.

My feeling was based on that Nickmitch was playing the most like I was the first day, and I was one of the killers.

I was messing around with a calendar calculator earlier today.

If I had a kid when I re-joined NWR after the software switch it would be:

18 years, 8 months, 12 days old.

I was 18 years, 10 months, 5 days on that day.

So, at this point Metroid Prime 4 is going to be a launch title for the next hardware isn't it?  If it comes out at all.

Honestly though. Even with the n64 controller wear flaw it is still my favorite feeling joysticks. It felt easier to make very tiny precise movements. Like when you have to tip toe in mario 64 it feels shittier on a modern joystick.
Alot of that is just Nintendo didn't really care about getting the emulation right for the n64's analog stick.

Mario 3D All Stars nailed it though. Hopefully that carries over to N64 Online

I think it has more to do with that the n64 stick is just a little longer than modern joysticks. Which is also a structural flaw and probably why they don't do that anymore.  Also, a brand new n64 controller feels tight with lots of resistance.

Functionally and technically, the sticks on newer hardware should be better based on specs. They just don't feel that way.  A better player than me wouldn't have a complaint. I'm more talking about the feedback loop between myself and the machine.

It's not just emulated Mario 64 that suffers. A game like Monkey Ball could be better than it is on Gamecube and Dreamcast. And even on Xbox and Playstation systems games where I had to tiptoe or use very precise analog stick movement could feel better. The next best analog experience I've had is the Dreamcast trigger buttons. Loved Gamecube's shoulders too. Even the recompiled Mario 64 PC version didn't feel perfect with an xbox 360 controller.

I never tried one of those elite xbox one controllers though, apparently you can adjust the tension.

I wonder what the internals of a joycon stick are made out of.

I used to take apart n64 controllers to fix them, and it was a pretty simple fix. Just clean any dust and dirt out. The plastic joysticks were inherently flawed though. Plastic is just not a material that should be made to endure friction repeatedly. There was a fan project for improved n64 joysticks that looked pretty good. They were either made out of stainless steel, but I think their website went silent.

But wasn't this more of a calibration issue? You can engineer drift in most controllers if you hold the joystick when you turn it on. But also if the stick is made out of substandard materials it wont calibrate right anyhow. I also imagine being able to "Switch" create extra calibration issues.

and people come back to reality.

This is exactly what I said would happened when people started bitching it was doing terrible just 6 weeks after release. Pure Hyperbole.

Prediction: 2 years from now Nintendo has some press conference talking about how its doing the best of any of its systems. This time though I'll know better and wait till the Second Iteration. You know the one with the built in 2nd joystick they'll announce soon.

bookmarking this page, so I can bump the **** out of it 2 years from now when this happens.

Not that anybody cared. But I just found the bookmark again... it was in an email to myself with the title Super Bookmark.

Sale were great

Newer model with analog stick
https://www.theverge.com/2014/8/29/6082243/nintendo-new-3ds-and-3ds-xl-announcement

So, bumped as promised. Late... I did not buy a New 3ds or a Switch though. I have wait for the upgrade syndrome with handhelds. I bought a DS and the DSi came out and it only got magnified by Wii U's shorter by a year lifecycle. The Switch has now been out longer than Wii U was before they replaced it.

4 years, 3 months, 27 days between Wii U and Switch

4 years, 6 months, 25 days  between Switch and today

Not playing for 2 days is a pretty good move. I was super quiet as Mafia Godfather in Mike Tysons Punchout Mafia. I had a great team FTW that time too.

I'm not sure how many times I've been the killer. I rarely play these. One thing that is a turnoff is getting eliminated on day 1 which happens a lot for me. But that's pretty much my fault when it does. Be too quiet get eliminated, be too visible get eliminated. You got to hit that middle ground.

People who have played Resident Evil 7 and Metroid Dread: How does it compare? One of the mechanics on RE7 is the unrelenting enemy that keeps coming. This sort of thing is a source of great tension that has prevented me from beating the game.

It would be influency if I knew anything. I have no idea who the mafia is.  This is color commentary.

When John Madden says what Brett Favre should be doing it's not influency. I'd be in the same position if I was just a random forumer commenting having read the thread.

I wasn't the magician or the detective, I never used my killer power, and I made two inane pointless comments before my badwagon vote comment, which was simply a restating of the rules. I never talked to anyone in private messages.
I wouldn't be interested to do that till today, but I'm dead.

But we'll see how well I nailed it.  Even more interesting that you commented on it. Because I could do some commentary on your commentary of my commentary.

But since they killed me. I'm rooting against the Mafia. GO TOWNIES!

I should have known better than to start a no vote bandwagon.  But if I were still playing I'd vote out all the people who originally bandwagon voted out Mop It Up. Luigi Dude, Stratos, Beautifulshy, Luigi Dude.

If I were to guess who the Killer is, it's probably Nickmitch. I don't have anything to back this up. Just a feeling.

Remember when UncleBob used to post

It's sad we haven't seen UncleBob post here since September 10.

Hey, folks. Bogmire here. Kermit the Frog said it wasn't easy being green. He should try being purple! Sitting on a log singing to the forest creatures is easy! Try living in a swampy graveyard with corpses for company! Sigh. There's a reason why people sing "A Pirate's life for me" instead of a ghost's life.

what about...

They have a free game every week.

Anyways, some weeks I forget to get the free game. Please people bump this weekly.

I missed Europa Universalis IV, which I wanted to get. Sigh. It seems like the weeks I forget about the store that's when the really good games pop on.

No Vote

because why not? I skimmed the rules. Is there are reason to change it?

I've only played the original Luigi's Mansion. Unfortunately, (sigh) that was 20 years ago too.

I was actually really hyped for Luigi's mansion when it came out because the first game I beat was the PC version of Mario is Missing. I need to install that and play it on a DOS PC emulator. I still have the disc and manual.

Historically, I don't have any trust for Mop it Up, and I also don't remember why that is. I think Mop it Up started a bandwagon that ousted me.  But maybe I remember that wrong.

I'm excited about this one because it's Halloween month and we're playing Luigi's mansion.

We're going to solve this!

I'm in! I just got back from a road trio. Now I'm free to play.

The thing about Kevin Michael Richardson and Jack Black is if they switched that would probably work better. "Play the best song in the world or I'll eat your soul!" That is what I expect a lizard wizard like Kamek to sound like.

Kevin Michael Richardson is the voice of Darkseid, Shredder, and Joker in a few cartoons. He'd probably do a really good Bowser.

But I imagine they're going for a very hyperactive version of Bowser. I could hear in my head Jack Black doing an interesting take on Bowser if he does it right. If Bowser sings that's going to kick so much ass. Charlie Day can sing too.

The even crazier thing is that statistically, there has to be a very small amount of people that are out of the loop. Like some people that go out only every 6 months to shop for supplies and then retreat back to their bunkers. It must be weird for them. Or not, in the states where they keep reversing measures they could not even notice because they only get out in intervals where things look normal.

273
The fact that most all of these are cast against type makes this more interesting. Key as Toad is genius. Although Charlie Day as Luigi seems on type. Though Charlie Day is an under-utilized actor. He could be anyone.

Apparently Interview With A Vampire is actually Interview With The Vampire.

I googled it and the likely explanation is people pronounce "The" as "Thugh" and it follows "with"

A couple holes in this: The "th" in "with" is a different "th" then in "the". Also, in French the movie is called Entretien avec un vampire! You're not fooling me Matrix!

David S Goyer is sometimes good. He works well with the right people. David S. Pumpkins is always good.
