Nintendo Gaming / RE: New Kirby Adventure for GCN!

I dunno about this game. Kirby seems to look like he was just copied and pasted from SSBM

He's freakin sphere! What do you expect? Maybe Nintendo should be edgy and make him a cube?

Besides he doesn't look as good as he does in SSBM.

The DS is about 3D

No it is not.

What would be good is a 3D peach game. Anybody agree?

No, I do not agree.

You know now that I've had some time to really look at those shots this game looks like it could be really cool. It's a 2D sidescroller. As cool as the New Super Mario Bros may turn out to be it uses polygons which to me don't look as good and as a result I was a little disappointed when I first saw it. But this is all sprites which I love.

Big ditto on that one. I'm dying for the new Mario Bros. game, but I really wish it were more spritey, hehe.

Another is gonna be the best game ever.. I seriously cannot wait for that game. They better release it here or i'll be upset.

No lie. I REALLY hope it comes to the US. Oh yeah, and um, to Australia too

My only complaint is that Gambit sucked. Jean Grey and Nightcrawler ruled, though, so I forgave.

Wow, Mozart and Brahms in Donkey Konga? Did the US version have any classical stuff?

It looks really awesome. The use of the dual/touch screens is one of the best I've seen. It'll be hard waiting for this one.

I'd also love Dragon Quest VIII for the Cube, but that's a real pipe-dream.

Indeed, I dare not even dream of that =\  It is really stupid, Enix OWNS Japan, they make the console... why not Nintendo's?

Hey don't forget about Dragon Warrior 6. Thats my favorite DW title since DW2 for NES

You're right, for some reason I transposed that with DW VII ( I've never played VI =( )

I'd love all three.

"Another" looks to be a point and click adventure/mystery game, the first for Ninty since the Famicom Detective games that never left Japan...Hopefully this one will make it stateside... ^_^

::changes underpants::

By the way, did you guys notice that Baby-Mario cloud game is looking like a new Yoshi/BMario platformer?

Damn, Ian, you really are insane. Good Lord, that has to be the most dramatic outburst I've seen in a long while.

How would it be better to delay the launch? That is completely non-sensical.

PSP deserves to win? Get a grip, Ian.

Nintendo, my money is still in hand.

TalkBack / RE:Final Fantasy III on DS
« on: October 07, 2004, 08:25:37 AM »
I also agree with Ian, I already own Final Fantasy VI. Final Fantasy III will probably be the first good game Square has released since Final Fantasy Tactics, since technically for we Americans, Australians, etc. this is a new game.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Sly Cooper for gamecube
« on: October 06, 2004, 09:20:13 AM »
Jak sucks. The first one was tolerable, the second is complete trash. Sly and R&C are the only good, true platformers on PS2.

There is also Ray Man 3, available for GameCube and PS2 as I recall. I'm actually surprised no one has mentioned this one yet; it is pretty good, not as good as SMS, though.

Alternatives are inferior...SMS is by far the best platformer this generation...

Agreed. I like Sly Cooper, but I didn't enjoy it nearly as much as SMS (especially the old-school levels!)

So Deguello you only play games for the thrill of gaming? Or do you play games for unique imaginative experiences?

Save the world. Get the girl. Maybe die just to switch things up. Boom, every RPG ever created. I like a nifty story, but there are so few unique stories you may as well not game at all.

Great gameplay IS my unique and/or imaginitive experience.

More like, wow these guys can make some good rpgs, the kind we haven't focused on ourselves. Our fans love the games we make now and we can't change complete direction with our employees to make those types of games all on our own successfully (think of some of the games they've made that are radically different from their usual rpgs). Let's get some of these guys to help us make a great strategy rpg. And so they do and the game rules.

LoL, that sounds a little naive.

If psp launches WITH advent children...

wow....that'd be killer...totally killer...they wouldn't need any good launch titles and they'd still sell by the truckload

Um, where did you see PSP launching with FF:AC?

FF:AC might be out for the PSP launch, but I've never heard anything about a pack-in. Assuming that is what you meant. If all you meant was that FF:AC will be out at the same time PSP: So what? Who is going to be stupid enough to buy a movie on a proprietary format like UMD, when they can buy a DVD?

Also, I'm curious, has anyone asked sony about rewinding movies? I know I'll very often run back if I miss a line or something. I wonder if Sony has factored that in at all.

I like top-loaders. I've always hated "trays." Too bad I already own a PS2 (I'm sure as hell not giving Sony money for a third, since the first gen of PSTwo is going to be as crappy as PS2)
