I believe slacker has it right here. Its all about a return to the NES. I think Nintendo has been taking a serious look at what made them so popular to begin with. Iwata hints around this with the original SMB and the let me try theory.

A Wii package with 2 nunchucks and 2 wiimotes with a pack in game at a reasonable price ($199-249) has alot of attracting power IMO. If Nintendo can put together this package the blue ocean idea has a ton of potential and can bring back the people who have left gaming as of the days of the NES. Even though most of are just curious as to the price and package details, I think that Nintendo's biggest announcement for the Wii will be these details. Let's hope the path Nintendo has chosen for the Wii is a suitable one and Nintendo's actions mirror the ideas put forth to this point.

My God the willpower! I can guarantee you one thing, you won't be anywhere near disappointed. I am just about done with the game and it makes me sad. I loved it soooooo much. I think it would be great if beating the game unlocked the original smb with the new items, graphics and moves. Anyway the 11th will be a great day for you, DSLite and New SMB

I would be very angry if any players were axed from SSBB. I personally use Ganondorf and I could easily see him getting the axe due to the fact that he is a clone. I coudn't agree more with Athrun Zala, the real solution is a new move set, something to differentiate the clones. Plus the larger the roster the better! I love booting up Marvel vs. Capcom 2 and having a huge number of fighters to chose from each with their own unique moves.

The only reason my list is in alphabetical order is due to the fact that I wrote a program to keep track of all my games(I have waaaaaaaaaaaaay too many, see sig) and the program puts all the titles in alphabetical order. When I was a kid I used to keep them in alphabetical order on my shelf. Now I group by similar games(All LoZ's will go together) and I group by publisher/developer. So I would group Sonic Mega Collection with Skies of Arcadia and the Super Monkey Balls. Yes I am a nerd.

This is some very encouraging news from Iwata. It seems like there was a lot of strain on the $199.99 price point in a roundabout kind of way. I am also hoping that Wii Sports or some game is packaged with the system to push the concepts Nintendo has been advertising.

I just don't care anymore. The price is irrelevant, it's under $300 and thats good enough for me. Though I will agree $200 is far more likely and it would mean essentially another launch title for me instead (I'm sure I'm not the only one who would take that $50 and just blow it on another game).

At first when the Xbox 360 was announced so early to start the next generation I was angered. I felt their was still alot of life left this generation and that we could see alot of the best games of the generation, much like the N64. I pretty much told myself that if Nintendo didn't bring something new to the table I was out.

Thankfully the Revolution was announced and Nintendo made me feel like a little kid again. I can't wait to have one. Gaming has become stale to me and the Wii seems like it is breathing a breath of fresh air into the industry. They even have Sony copying them again! ;-)

I really enjoyed the conference on a whole. As others have said, I think my expectations were a bit different. I wanted to see games and I wanted to see them played with the controller. I saw this and more and it was very satisfying. Not to mention the controller looked very natural and very fun. I can imagine playing a game like Red Steel and feeling the rumble and swinging the sword and hearing the blade right in my ear. Very engaging.

On another note, I hate video game journalists. It's like a big joke. They were the journalists who weren't good enough to hack it in the real world and ended up in games. There is no professionalism, there is no stripping of bias, and as a result, there is a significant impact in the market. People trust these people with their money and that is a very big thing. What winds up happening is these jackasses spout off their completely ridiculous opinions and they are carried into the minds of the people they preach to. I actually come to this board for my news and reviews. I trust all of your opinions and news more than I trust any single gaming site out there. I wish there was some way to legitimize game journalism. I thought G4 had the potential when it started, but they turned out worse than anyone else.

All I have to say is wow. Nintendo blew me away. I want that system so badly right now it's not funny. I can't wait to see some in game footage as the conference continues. I am keeping my fingers crossed for some sign of SSB:Wii. Let's not forget the DS either, Diddy Kong Racing, Starfox, Yoshi's Island 2, Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2 and Ouendan.
