Nintendo becoming number 1, if the ds is any indication, would be fantastic. We'd wind up with more innovative, fun titles than we could buy.

Just a thought for everyone while we are on a close subject. Did anyone notice that there is a curse in the third system?

After 2 generations of success, a company will assume success is a given and do stupid things.

Nintendo thought they could push no-load-times cartridges on the marketplace. Sony is thinking they can push blue-ray on the marketplace.

3903
Well, the thing is, the psp doesn't have any games.

Considering the utter worthlessness of the product, I'd say the psp commercials are pretty good.

Because 8 year old parents are still gullible. Thank back and remember how much harder it was to get things when you become 12 or even 10. When you think about it like that you realize that

Right. That's why they don't make portable dvd players for 8 year olds. They make portable 'PortaVid' players that only play 20 dollar 'PortaVid' discs.

I mean that thing looks soo.... Blah... It's icki... Looks like it's got a brain condition. I tend to avoid people who look like that so that add makes me just want to avoid the PSP unless it might be contagious and I turn into a mental case.

You should avoid me, then.

This gives us the opportunity to do some risk-free probing.

That's what the aliens said when they abducted me....

On an unrelated note, I find it highly suspicious that vudu remembered what mafia were scheduled to make a kill tonight.

ahaha.

I think, though I know this might sound crazy, that at&t's phone line might be made more 'user friendly' if they connected you with a real person right away.

Seeing as how I'm about to die, I'm inclined to agree. Does anyone know what's going on with Pryo?

Hahaha, if only things were that easy...

Easy for you to get a kill, you mean? Or easy for vudu to gather information for you and the rest of your team?

Oh, wait, it actually plays dvds?

Then I don't understand the system design at all. If it's a serious portable dvd player, why are they desigining it to appeal to 8 year olds?

3914
Look, I have no intention of taking over the game. Unless pryo doesn't come back tomorrow. Then I'll do a power grab... I just find it likely that, when Pryo comes back, he'll declare the person voted off in the unoffical thread (in this case, me) to be living no more. So I'm just trying to help out with the initial vote.

whoops.

Bah, don't bother me with your pesky logic, the leadership must be overthrown! The power must be given to the people! Through me! Who will rule over them with a manical, blood thirsty, iron fist!

Wandering awoke, naked, on the beach. He had no memory, no razor sharp wit, and one rather long, grizzly beard.

As he wandered into town, he heard people shouting about the naked man on the beach, and how scum like that should be killed.

Then, he spotted a glowing metallic contraption in the town square. Approaching it, he saw it featured push-buttons aligning to names in it's center in a butterfly-like arragement. He saw the man they call stevey push one button, comic book for a recount, then push another one.

Wandering pulls a note out of his beard and hands it to stevey. Then, he pushes one of the buttons himself.

If he's not alive, he should hurry up and post. I want to VOTE WANDERING because of the way he played me the last game. He deserves to die.

Bah, I may have played people a little, but I never gave a single person a piece of advice that it wouldn't have been a good idea to follow.

UncleBob, if you had helped me vote off vudu, a mafia member would've died that night instead of a townie.

And vudu, I told you to kill me, and if you had, I wouldn't have tried to get you knocked off. (Funny you complaining about that, btw, when you know very well you were planning on killing me when you found it convienent.)

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Best system launch ever?!
« on: March 05, 2006, 11:18:20 PM »
*shrug*

There hasn't been a Miyamoto-developed mario game since Mario 64. Gamecube launched with Miyamoto's pikmin and, for the first time ever, no Miyamoto-developed mario game...or any mario game at all. The Revolution will launch with another new Miyamoto IP, and iirc, Satoru has said that Miyamoto has said mario probably wouldn't be there for launch. It seems like he's moved on, as it were.

Though I guess, now you mention it, there's still Mario 128.....

Mario on the other hand, I think that up until Mario Sunshine it had stayed pretty fresh and new but Sunshine wasn't enough for me to think of it as the next "leap". I really enjoyed the game but it was no better then Mario 64. Plus...all of the Mario games (party 1-who knows, tennis, soccer, golf) on both their consoles and handhelds have sort of made it hard for them to maintane the hype of the next "mario" game. I don't care that mario is featured in all those games because for the most part they are of good quality, but the general consumer is seeing this and probably starting to think that's all Nintendo is, tired mario "rehashes".

This used to bother me...the degradation of the mario franchise by putting him in everything, I mean. But then it hit me: I don't think Miyamoto cares about mario anymore. And if that's the case, there's really no reason to not milk the plumber for all he's worth.
