Nintendo Gaming / RE: The Ace Attorney thread

Oh, I almost forgot the reason I renamed this thread. I wanted to let you all know that it is believed that the localization of the third game will be announced soon. Specifically, when this contest is over. I am excited.

I'm making this the official thread for all the Ace Attorney games. I don't think there's quite enough interest in the series 'round here to warrant a separate thread for each game. I trust there will be no objections.

Really? I would've thought you'd have a harder time with case 3, what with your coulrophobia.

The horror ... the horror ....

Considering Capcom couldn't get Franziska's voice anything close to right in English (needed to more commanding, angry, and German), I agree that voice overs would not be a good idea. Besides that, the Phoenix Wright games would need to be a super megahits (which they aren't) to justify the expense of hiring good actors.

I find the ads somewhat misleading - whether or not you get the ipod is not contingent on your answer to the question. Furthermore, the ipod isn't really "free", you may need to purchase various items to get the ipod, and there's no guarantee that the monetory value of the items you purchase will be less than the value of an ipod.

Oh, good, you unlocked this, Bloodworth. Now I can go ahead with my insidious accusations as planned.

What was I saying?

Oh, are you sure Bloodworth is really as great as you suppose, Khushrenada? What if he harbored a dark secret?

Consider this: Bloodworth just locked a thread because people were speculating about whether mysticspike was a dupe account. Why would he do that, unless...he had something to hide?

That's right. I think Bloodworth and Mysticspike are one and the same.

I may not be able to control the fact that branding permeates every aspect of my daily life. Corporate logos and trademarks surround me, demanding my unswerving allegiance. Every time I boot up my Gameboy, I am marketed to - I am told by a carefully focus-tested logo that Gameplay belongs to me, and I to it. But there is one thing I can control: how I spell "Gameboy" on internet forums.

And I spell it Gameboy.

Gameboy. Gameboy. Gameboy. GAMEBOY.

And I'll be damned if I'm going to let someone tell me I must spell it otherwise.

I blame the rushed post-production. I think it would've been much better if it was released in the summer.

Not really. The wiimote was developed with Iwata's minimalist philosophy in mind. When the idea of a wand-like controller was presented to Miyamoto, he didn't think it would work with traditional games, and suggested it become a removable part of a normal controller.

I think that right now, the public faces we see, hear, and read from Nintendo are as follows: Iwata and Miyamoto (Anouma, when they're talking about the next Zelda) from NCL, Reggie, Kaplan, and George Harrison from NOA. The names from NOE and NAL evade me at this time, but you get my point.

If we could hear more from the designers, programmers, artists, even from NCL's board, then we'd could equate Nintendo to more than just the names I mentioned above. I just learned from this thread the man responsible for Animal Crossing!

Well, there's Iwata asks...

Bump! I read this article (courtesy arstechnica) and thought of you, Nile Boogie.

...a back door has appeared in the Music Store itself: While iTunes Japan pegs foreign undesirables from their credit card numbers, it can't screen fake Japanese addresses provided by prepaid iTunes Card users. There's a small but ardent underground economy among Americans in dummy addresses and e-mailed scans of Japanese iTunes Cards, picked up by friends in Tokyo convenience stores or openly sold online.

Right now I'm listening to "Call me Call me" by Yoko Kanno. It is quite good.

For a lot of reasons but the main one is that most "Pop" (what the hell is the real category for people like her, Britney Spears, Mandy Moore, and those kind of performers? Pop means popular and even TOOL has fallen under that category) singers don't have anything to do with the lyrics they are singing? Someone writes the lyrics and they sing them, they aren't artist, they don't create music, all they do is perform, they're like an art gallery, when you go you look at the wall and go "wow it's doing a good job of holding up that Monet".

Elvis didn't write his own material. Are you dissing Elvis?

....good. Elvis sucks.

The sun reigns, and the cat with the fiddle sings:

I thought I saw a puddy cat.
I thought I saw him die.
I thought it was tit for tat,
An eye for an eye.
I thought 18 days was bad,
The worst kind of guy.
I thought we should now be glad.
I thought we were free.
I thought we were free at last,
Free from tyranny,
Free as we could ever be.
I thought correctly.

After dispatching 18 days (the final Louie Loyalist), the sole surviving citizens of Louieville were solemn. The victory felt hollow to TVMan and Blackfootsteps - how could anyone celebrate after so many had died?  But life goes on. The two of them tore down the statue of Louie, and rechristened the town "Funhouseville". And soon enough, they found weren't the only ones living there. Stray cats from all over came to Funhouseville and called it home. The town thrived once again. Once more it was home to good times, laughter, and fun.

Actually the Enterprise, where Sulu was part of and also the one shown in the original TV series, did not have a letter. If you check the ship pics from the second link that I put, you will see that the license plate is really the first Enterprise.

"Following the destruction of the NCC-1701, Kirk and his officers were instrumental in saving Earth from a mysterious probe (as chronicled in Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home). As a reward, Kirk (who was demoted to captain as punishment for disobeying orders and taking the NCC-1701 to the Genesis Planet) was given command of a new U.S.S. Enterprise, a virtually identical (from the outside) vessel with the registry number NCC-1701-A. This began a long tradition of continuing the NCC-1701 registry number through successive generations of Enterprise which in some timelines continues until at least the 26th century (see Starship Enterprise)." - Wikipedia

You are correct. The original enterprise had no bloody A, B, C or D.

Though I'm surprised the Enterprise used in the first three films had the same serial number as the one used in the series. I had forgotten that. In The Motion Picture, they make a big deal of the fact that they're using a new ship.
