Nintendo Gaming / Voice Acting - Yay or Nay?
« on: March 28, 2003, 01:08:22 PM »
I'm reminded of Final Fantasy fans.  They complained and complained that Square did not have voice-acting in their PS1 games (FF7/8/9).

Then, when Square finally included voices in FF10... the fans complained again that they sucked!

(sigh) I'm surprised game programmers even try with all the complaints they get.  No matter what they do: It's Wrong.

"Were you embarrased to pick up Ruby or Sapphire and why/why not?"

No, because I'm not an insecure teenie-bopper trying to prove how adult he is.  Pokemon or Porn... I could care less what other customers or clerks think.

Nintendo Gaming / Zelda - Game Boy Player

Cool.  So the Gameboy Player has a link cable interface on it?

For example, use Metroid Fusion to unlock Metroid Prime's extras?  I'm guessing no.

Nintendo Gaming / Metroid Prime Discussion

Well, it seems that *negative* opinions are viciously attacked.  That's not fair either.  A GameCube Owner should be free to say, "I thought Metroid Prime was boring," or "It needs some video logs to break up the monotony," without being called "unimaginative" or similar insults.

People should feel free to express their minority-view opinions without feeling that they will be verbally beat-up or insulted by the majority.

Debating Facts = OK.  Attacking People = Unacceptable.

Troll Alert... Troll Alert... Troll Alert!  I suspect we have a troll here (someone who posts ridiculous comments in order to draw attention to themselves).

There are lots of products with scratchable clear plastic.  VCRs.  DVDs.  Boomboxes, Stereos, Microwaves.  It's not just Nintendo... ALL electronics manufacturers use this type of scratchable plastic.  Are you planning to boycott them all?  You'd have one very empty home!  hahahaha!  You can't blame Nintendo, because they are just following the same practices as ALL electronics manufacturers.

Also, so what if your *used* GameCube has a few scratches?  In 2 more years, GC2/PS3/XBX2 will be released, and then your GameCube will be worse than scratched... It will be obsolete!  So stop sweating small stuff.  Scratches are trivial and not worth getting stressed about.

Test again.

BTW, have you guys taken a close look at the "fur" on the characters?  You can do it with Fox's Zoom-Zoom Goggles, and it's not really fur.  It's just "smudges" or if you prefer dots that hover over the character to give the illusion of moving fur.  Very ingenious.

Kinda like Rare's other game Banjo-Kazooie.  I like Banjo, because it was fast-paced but the item-collecting didn't work for SFA.  Fortunately, that aspect of the game only happened at the beginning.  In the middile and end, the game was more focused on solving puzzles to open doors.

I wonder what crap...er, games Rare will come up with for Xbox?  Will they be able to produce more than just Perfect Dark sequels?

Nintendo Gaming / Starfox Adv. = Zelda. So why don't people like it?
« on: March 28, 2003, 02:28:29 AM »
Bought it last week, played it this week, and I thought Starfox Adventures was just like Zelda = Move from dungeon to dungeon.  Solve puzzles to open doors.  I don't really enjoy Zelda's puzzles, but given that Starfox followed that same style, I am surprised so many people, especially Zelda fans, did not enjoy it.

And of course the graphics are absolutely beautiful.  Rare has some amazing artists working for them.
(Maybe this is why they moved to Xbox?  To get the absolute best graphics possible on a console?)
