I'm sure they'll do something with the touchscreen. They've been pushing developers to do more than a map view on the touchscreen, and to innovate. So I don't think that they'll use the touchscreen for only a map, especially since this is a flagship title.

I think he eliminated those when he said "...but developers of those games are working on other consoles" i.e Rare

They can be fairly certain by doing that, but still, it is by no means an exact science. Would you happen to know the percent error involved, because it may not seem like it, but just a bit of difference between actual and estimated data could make a lot of difference

I really think we should discuss this in the DS forum. Having said that, I would also like two types of stages - one with two levels and the other with a zoomed out view on the bottom screen. However, it would still be hard to see items, like mines, etc with the zoomed out view, especially if it is a big stage.

Also, how else will the touchscreen be used in a unique manner?

Really??? I'm picking up my PSP right away. Thanks zakkiel, I wouldn't have bought it without you!!

Handheld would be too big, would be a lot less profitable (no software sales), blah blah blah

The camera is great in nearly all cases. However, in big stages like Hyrule Castle, when players are spread out, it's quite hard to see everyone. It would be even harder on the DS, with such a small screen.

Who the hell cares?  The game probably had a 4-figure budget...
Notwithstanding, they DID expect it to do better than this...

I believe that you've said the exact same words before on this forum

If Nintendo doesn't start taking some risks, they will lose profit. Until now, they have been just fine, but if this situation continues, it will affect them, so they have to start being more aggresive. They have shown signs of this (online announcements etc) but they really DO have to get a new mindset going into next gen.

Yes, it's been discussed to death. It would be innovative but quite hard to implement.

Living in Asia is your only real misfortune, because the service in North America and Japan is all you could ask for - if what happened to you by any chance would happen to me, it would be no problem to replace it.

Having said that, there still MUST be a way to use your warranty, even if you are in Asia. I don't know how you could replace a Nintendo, but I'm sure that there must be a way if you look around. So if you buy a Rev next gen, and the same thing happens (god forbid), you should be able to replace it.

Um, Babyboy, I'm really not sure why in the world you would do that, unless you have a LOT of spare cash. Nintendo stated explicitly that GB and GBC DO NOT WORK on the DS. Why, oh why, would you try to do that?? Do you hate your DS that much???

Oh, and about the DS connectivity, it is rumoured that the Rev will be a wireless hub, so it will be able to connect to the DS, adn the possibilities if that happens are huge.

Thats true..I'm constantly surprised how quickly kids catch on to video games, and how they sometimes can see something in the game that you just don't have the POV to, and it's so simple at that (eg a puzzle)

No No NO there is NOT going to be a touchscreen controller...

Well,  I had to. My cousin doesn't have any system and he was playing it when he came over, but he switched the Gamecube on without a disc. He got to the memory screen eventually, and ended up deleting my Sunshine, Burnout 2 and Metroid files. I had already finished SMS & MP, but I was halfway through the custom series for Burnout - hadn't played it for about 7 months. The torture that I had to go through to repeat all those uneventful challenges that you had to get first place in every single race was unbearable. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy, much less KDR.

Yes, or if it is a wireless hub, Nintendo could design Gamecube AND Rev controllers that are wireless.

lol yea I just decided to go on a diet, and then I come onto this forum and cookies and cake are discussed. Whyy, dammit, whyyyyy.

Actually that's not true - but I did read it in an Archie comic sometime (whoever was dieting decided to watch TV to keep their mind off food, but there were only cooking shows on etc)

As for me, I like both 3D and 2D Zeldas, but both in a different way. However, I must say that Nintendo just can't abandon 2D now that the DS is out. They shoud keep releasing 2Ds, at least on the DS, because it still has a lot to give.
