Ian - I can understand how you would feel if the simulcast is messed up like it was yesterday, but you have to think about it logically. Since only the popular shows get simulcast, there are many people watching the show. As such, because of the division, many people will watch, say, FOX. And therefore, they would see American advertising - American products and services. Many of those aren't available in Canada, so how the hell are they supposed to reach their target audience? With the simulcast, only Canadian commercials get shown.

As well, Canadian channels pay to license the episodes, so obviously they want to get revenue back from it. With the audience split, the commercials won't reach all the people watching, and therefore they'll get paid less.

Also, maybe it's the shows I watch, but I've found these sorts of accidents to happen extremely rarely. In fact, I don't recall a messed up simulcast like this for a while..

And finally, I didn't think you'd be the type of person that would get so emotional about 10 minutes of TV which you could easily catch later. But, you know, who am I to say?

2) Buy the original Soul Calibur - this you have to

3) Two Thrones is on GCN

Yeah, but I think they extrapolate, however inaccurate that is..

Additionally, the "touch mode" incarnation wouldn't be feasible because there's yet to be a game that is wholly dependent on touch input.

I don't understand why Nintendo is giving a value of $250 to the $100 Micro and a $30 game.

Because they want to make it seem like 2D graphics are TEH CUTTING EDGE. Higher price = perceived as more technologically advanced. Like the PS2 was thought to be more powerful than the GameCube since it was more expensive. Image is everything..

Not like celebrities will know the difference anyway..

Good news for Sonic Rush.  EVERYONE GO BUY IT we finally get another good Sonic game and not enough people know about it.

I second this times infinity.. I've said before - to me it's the second best game on the DS after Mario Kart..

And the PSP is SERIOUSLY beating the DS in software sales, even though less of them have been sold? That is utterly amazing - I would have thought (and the Japanese numbers back this up) that with all the multimedia and UMD focus, games would get lost in the equation. And they're not even good games at that! I don't know about this; I need confirmation, since it sounds really fishy..

As for Racing games, well I just liek real looking cars games that move fast and feel like your in a real race, Need For Speed does ok so its not a total waste but I do prefer Segas Arcade style racers becaus e they are short and easy to play. And fast.

Got Burnout 2?

And if you're such a big fan of arcades, then I don't understand why you don't like the concept of the Rev controller. It has immense potential, and really, it is the only one that can truly bring the arcade experience home. That's one of the reasons I'm excited for it, since I can just imagine what developers like SEGA will do with it.

Speaking of which, F-Zero GX had that arcadey feel that SEGA is known for - the music, the speed and everything. So, again, please at least try it once and don't make a judgement so quickly.

Ian's right.  As much as the Revolution intrigues me and as much as I can't wait to play with it, I just don't think that the market (at least the American one) needs to be "revolutionized."  That's why the DS isn't working as well here; though Nintendogs sold well, it's not some giant phonomenon like in Japan simply because people here are more interested in the yearly rehashes of Madden.
Oh come on; the DS is and will be just fine - don't you worry. You're points just aren't valid due to one thing - the GBA. It sold through the roof here. And nearly every single major franchise that sold the GBA has been succesfully translated to the DS. Castlevania. Mario Kart. Advance Wars. Sonic. These are all traditional gamer games and the DS versions are arguably better. And then mix in some new IPs that are made with hardcore gamers in mind. The only big difference is no Pokemon, which was obviously a big reason for the GBA's success. But regardless..

And that's exactly what Nintendo has been saying - new games such as Nintendogs and Brain Training for nongamers, but traditional (and exceptional) games to keep hold of loyal fanbase. So, with this in mind, I think that in the next year the DS will ride on the momentum it has and do extremely well in North America.

I wasn't talking to you.. I was just commenting on the RPG potential of the Revolution. But, after reading your post, how on earth can you say that the Rev isn't good for adventure games? It's practically made for them. I mean, the controller will be much better than even the mouse for adventure games - puzzles, exploring, items.. wow, I can just imagine.

Square, Camelot, Namco, Pokemon (hopefully a good one with online)..

So don't worry, the Revolution caters to that genre extremely well. Also pure Adventure games; boy those have the potential to be brilliant on the Rev.

The way you worded it - Nintendo's F-Zero didn't cut it for me - and in the same paragraph you were talking about how great SEGA is at making racing games, so it seemed like you didn't know that SEGA made F-Zero. Anyway, Nintendo can definitely make great racing titles (even if you may not like them) - look at F-Zero 64 and the SNES iteration.

Import Jump SuperStars..

I hate it that Nintenod never tries to make racing gamesd up to the quality of Sega because the GC was sure lacking in this field and Nintendos F Zera never cut it for me. I hear its a good game and tahst fine but Sega hands down owns the arcade racing title

Did you know that Nintendo didn't actually develop F-Zero GX; it was .. guess who? SEGA! They outsourced the franchise, and I must say, Sega did a great job on it. It was a bit shallow, but the gameplay itself was brilliant. And if you really consider yourself such a big SEGA fan, do yourself a favour; give this game another chance. You won't be disappointed..

But it would be perfect with the NRC! Move around, push it towards TV to zoom in etc..
