KONG letters have been around since DKC1.  There's also the banana coins you can give to the other Kongs for info, the Kremcoins you can give to Klubba to go to the lost world, and the large DK tokens that add to your percentage.

Shimomura also did Super Mario RPG, but I'm not letting the composer list give me any ideas for what characters may show up, as I highly doubt the two would be related in any way.

I wonder why Uematsu isn't on the list.  Didn't he compose the music for the original trailer?

...just started listening.  I got the "Name That Tune" reference.

EDIT:  About halfway into it now.  With regards to Conker's game, I'm not sure about Conker's Pocket Tales, but I know he plays Killer Instinct at one point.  As for on the Xbox version, he doesn't have a Game Boy any more, it's some made up handheld system.

Two things...

A.  I'm kinda iffy about Cecil's new look...
B.  Now I'm pissed that I got FF4 Advance since this is coming out.

Thanks for reminding me of this with the game boy camera comments.

I remember getting the red version because I saw it in NP, played it a lot, got my save game erased, and couldn't get back into it after that.

That's exactly what happened.  I heard a story about some guys who tried running Super Paper Mario on a modded console for a different region, and it tried updating the firmware, which was incompatible with the region, turning the system into a shiny, white brick.

Something I noticed in the trailer - in one scene, Ashley's wearing her slut ho alternate costume from the GCN version.  I wonder if they'll only keep the GCN alternates or if they'll add the PS2 ones as well.  Or perhaps some entirely new ones?

All the models and levels for RE4 are already created, and there isn't much that can be done to improve them except maybe slightly higher polycount models and higher res textures (unlikely), unlike when they remade RE for the GCN and remade EVERYTHING, as well as added more environments.  Pretty much all they'd have to do is recode the game to take advantage of the Wii controls and maybe upscale a few things to fit the native 16:9 display.

My question is, when you're using a weapon with a scope, will you still aim with the Wiimote or will it use the analog stick again?

Is it really fair to judge the potential quality of the final version by those screenshots, which are both JPG compressed and shrunken down from their native size?

Doesn't it seem like Sonic would have an unfair advantage in the running events?  Or are they going to change the characters' attributes to make them more balanced?  Chances are, the Sonic characters are going to have their special moves taken away, as Knuckles' gliding and Tails' flying would give them unfair advantages in the long/high jumps.  Personally, I'm having a hard time seeing how this is a fair match up unless they take away all the qualities that make the Sonic characters unique...

PROTIP:  Using a Classic Controller may make the process easier as you can use the analog stick to position the pointer properly, then just push A to hit the Start button without having to align the pointer with the Wiimote.  Just keep the Wiimote pointed away from the screen.

Of course they will.  It's all a matter of when they do it.  Perhaps to coincide with the release of Metroid Prime 3 so new gamers can get a look at what the series was like before it went 3D.

Because if they don't release Super Metroid for VC, they're freakin' stupid.

Down at the bottom of pretty much every forum page:

"Copyright 2003 Planet GameCube. All your post are belong to us.

Just something that was overlooked, or was it intentionally left this way?

In all honesty, this game has worn out its enjoyability for me.  After beating it numerous times on the N64, and then getting it again twice on GCN, I have no desire to play it any more, and if I did, I'd just play one of the versions I already have.  MAYBE I'll get it for VC if it has some significant improvements to framerate and such, but otherwise I'll pass this one up.

UPDATE.  I am a freakin' idiot and I apologize for making this topic when I was half-asleep and tired as hell.  It turns out the "1200 Wii Points" listed at the bottom of the screen was not the price of the internet channel, but the points I still had in reserve.  This topic can be deleted because I am a moron.

« on: February 13, 2007, 02:21:20 AM »
I went to the Shop to download Kid Icarus in the VC, and out of curiosity, I stopped to check Wii Ware.  The Internet Channel Trial Version is now 1200 points to download.  I don't know if an internet browser with awkward typing is worth $12, especially when most people who have internet access have it for their computer, and you can download very good internet browsers for free on it.  The only benefit I see to the Wii web browser is homebrew Wii games made with Flash, Shockwave, Java, or some other such internet programming language (assuming the other languages are compatible with the final version of the Internet Channel when it's released).

What do you guys think about the Internet Channel?  Is it worth the price?  Do you think they'll lower it?  I'd rather buy a couple good NES games than update the browser when it's finalized if that's the price it'll be going for.

It would be so awesome if this game made use of SD cards, allowing players to make their own custom dance steps, maybe even use their own MP3s, and then upload their custom songs/steps to the internet for everyone to try.

The "commercials" were too loud.  I had to change the volume in iTunes from full to half whenever they came on.
