In the past, whenever someone would say that Brawl was going to be a Halo killer I would laugh and ignore the claims. Halo is simply too much of a behemoth for ANYONE to dare and challenge. The amount of passion poured onto Halo is incredible. The release of Halo 3 was insane. Galaxy was celebrated, sure, Bioshock was welcomed with open arms and Call of Duty 4 changed the formula, but the ONLY game to have driven gamers to the point of insanity in 2007 has been Halo 3.

Halo doesn't drive gamers insane, it drives Xbox owning frat boys insane. Real gamers would know that it is merely an overhyped franchise (thanks to Microsoft's money) that doesn't, hasn't, and won't do anything particularly new or interesting in terms of the genre. Furthermore, it's a genre that utterly and absolutely sucks outside the realm of the PC. That's right boys and girls, gamepads weren't meant to play first-person-shooters and Halo is as generic as they come in an already generic genre! The kind of people that go batty over Halo are probably not usually the type to be interested in a "kid-friendly" Nintendo game anyway.

Note: I use the word kid-friendly because for whatever reason the word "k!ddie" is forbidden. Maybe to prevent "k!ddie pr0n", eh? Thanks again NWR for having some of the dumbest, most overbearing word censors to ever grace an internet forum. Fascists.

Its censored due to the Gamecube era.  Most of the other words that are censored are inside jokes within the board I am sure if you stay long enough you will learn some.

vote decoyman

Reason why?

Two games ago I formed a townie alliance consisting almost all townies, Decoy snuck in and ended up betraying us all being mafia.  He came up to me at the beginning of the game and claimed he was innocent but look at the deaths, they keep rising up and up.  Hes stepped down from the townie alliance doo dad and even made a thread apologizing for being a "bad" mafia player.  To me that sounds like a really "good" mafia player trying to get a pity party out of the townies to keep him alive.  This is the only lead I have. . .does it make any sense?

This is actually very convincing, as you can see from voter records...

ARGH. I don't want to believe it! Decoyman was in communication with everyone from the very beginning of the game and even Khush trusted him!

See and several people have been telling me all day to go for Shyguy~!  I want reasons why on him. . .  everyone just keeps pointing fingers this game without any basis on their votes.  I can understand this on day 1 but this is day 5. . .  I will change my vote on ShyGuy until I hear some big news...

Nintendo Gaming / RE: When you play VC games on your HD TV, do you...
« on: January 17, 2008, 01:33:20 PM »
Funny this is an issue with my new plasma and I like most of my games stretched.  I also have the option to zoom in on the screen which actually makes it widescreen and the proper ratio but it also zooms in.  I like this mode the best BUT if theres an on-screen hud around the edges of the display it can make it quite unplayable.  Unfortunately I dont think theres a definite answer, just a matter of preference from game to game.

TP was a launch title, Link to the Past (VC) was not.

I believe he was referring to the trend to launch a retro predecessor to an upcoming game such as launching Link to the past right before Twilight Princess, Mario 3 with Galaxy and Super Metroid with Prime 3.

We still have very little clues to go by anyone.  I still fear Khush, hes the sneakiest of them all followed up by decoyman.  Decoyman may seem friendly but he can doublecross easily.  I dont trust anyone.

Yea I just read in a magazine that it was rated #2 Plasma television of the year~!  I am very happy with this television but now between standard dvds and Wii games . . . I want to see what it REALLY can do.   Perhaps a 360 or Ps3 is in the future for me~!

Yeah my plasma puts out quite a bit of heat, but I love it. Like I said if anything keep the TV on for 200hrs or so before playing anything with a static image. While it is unlikely it is still possible to get some burn-in during that period (which is why most recommend using burn-in software or keeping it on a channel without static logos. The reason why is because the gases burn brightest during that period. After that point though you should be safe. Also turn on pixel orbiting (It appears that TV may have it), and keep the brightness along with contrast at or below 50, at least to start.

Do you mean just run the television for 200 hours not playing a game or movie?

Hey I'm Darkheart's roomie making a post as him, hopefully he won't mind.  Or maybe he will and he'll kill me in the morning.  Eep.

Anyways I saw this open on his browser, he's sleeping atm, and I figure I can answer those questions.
Model:  Samsung HP-T4624
Features:  I think all of its specs are here.  It's a newer model, so of note are a 60,000 hour lifespan and a few built-in tools to prevent burn-in reduction (

http://www.samsung.com/us/consumer/detail/detail.do?group=televisions&type=televisions&subtype=plasmatv&model_cd=HPT4264X/XAA

It's a really nice TV, vibrant colors.. though there's so many ways to change them, it's hard to find the most preferred setting!  Definitely not a bad thing.

The only concern I can think of with this TV is that it burns very hot.  This apartment already has problems generating too much heat.  I think it could be a problem in the summer, but whatever, it's worth it.

So I went to Frys electronics today and was just about to buy an LCD when my roomie Louis mentions this beautiful Samsung 42 inch Plasma on sale for 999.99.  I was impressed with its stats and the picture that I bought it on the spot.  On the drive home I asked Louis what drew him to the Plasma and he mentioned that I had left this thread open on my Pc, read it and found Golden's impressions of her own to be quite encouraging.  So damn you golden for weazling your way into my real life~!
