This is only the third title in the Excitebike franchise, following the 1985 original, and the 2000 sequel Excitebike 64.I'm not sure if you know this as you might have been writing with North America in mind, but this is actually the fourth game in the ExciteBike series. There was one released only in the Japan for the Satellaview add-on for the Super NES.
By the way...
If there are any purists in the game, I just want to let you all know (slightly) in advance that I'm going to poop all over the Star Wars canon, in case you couldn't tell as much from the intro stories or my avatar. I just don't know enough to do anything else.
So. Fair warning for ya.
Great. Thanks, Shyguy, now I won't sleep tonight because I'll think spiders are in my bed. *SHIVERS*
See there, I had no idea that Jon was a fellow inductee into the Milon Club.
Yeah, I played the hell out of that game during the summer of '89, I believe.
OK, I was just wondering. Are you only going to tap characters from the classic trilogy or are you going to pull people from the Extended Universe?
I am unfamiliar with the extended universe. D=
Ziro the Hutt must be in this.
Why?!? Anything but Ziro. I'll take Zorba the Hutt, Jabba's revenge driven father, over Ziro.

I have a complaint and a suggestion. I've been holding my tongue (fingers?) for the past month hoping it would get better, but it's not. The commercial mid-show kind of sucks. It seems phony/forced and really breaks up the flow of the show. I understand its purpose, but I think it would be much more effective if instead of having the RFN crew spit out one liners over the Wii Shop Channel music you just had a 2 or 3 minute conversation about about recent articles and maybe discussed them with each other briefly. It would make the segment much more enjoyable.
I'm happy the review of Dirt 2 says it's a great addition to the DS library, but a 5 second mention doesn't make me want to read the review. I haven't read any of the Medaverse developer diary purely because I don't really know what they're about. Is this entirely lazy of me? Most definitely. But the commercials haven't sold me on them either. But if you took a couple minutes to have a natural conversation about them it could persuade me to check them out.
I can't be the only one who feels this way, can I?
your post may make a new comer slightly uncomfortable as you jokingly draw a line in the sand.
Ins.
*WARNING NEW POSTER*
DO NOT POST IN THIS THREAD.
STOP READING THIS THREAD NOW.
Uncomfortable and creepy post from forum regulars to follow.
Does no one notice how every time a new poster shows up and post in this thread, the "Hey little kid, you want some candy? There's plenty in the back of my van" welcoming squad shows up and that poster is never heard from again.
STOP IT.
I know you all (through the forum) and you creep me out with your weird & overly welcoming post. It's creepy.
Zach: We understand that you hate the DS Zelda games, and its OK. However, there's no need to constantly troll the game, especially since many gamers LIKE the DS games.
From Zach: Sorry guys! I modified my post (above).
I'm in as one dude with the subzero like mask for a facethat's a jedi and has a real deep voice.
I agree that S&P2's sales are abysmal... what the heck is wrong with gamers that they won't buy this, yet they buy crap like Wii Play by the truck load?
Wait, Pale got married? Congratulations!

BnM I think you fail to understand that the PS3's sales are increasing, so it may not take that long for it to catch up.
No I understand it just fine. I think it's you that doesn't realize the Wii has a 5million console lead and to only make it up 10-15k consoles at a time is gonna take a very long time. If the PS3 were to actually catch up anytime soon, it would require Nintendo to stop selling the Wii now while the PS3 keeps selling whatever it's selling now.
The concern is that the lead will increase from 10k - 15k to something more substantial. There's an argument that once FF XIII releases a lot of hold outs will purchase PS3s. Then again, the same can be said for DQX, so it's a moot point at this time.
Given Square-Enix's usual development time for a Dragon Quest game, I wouldn't expect DQ X till at the earliest the end of the Wii's lifecycle. I see it more becoming a killer-ap launch title (in Japan, anyway) for the Wii's successor. FF XIII we at least know is coming out in Japan in a month and in North America sometime early next year, so if the PS3 gets a bounce the closest I see from the Wii matching that is the next Legend of Zelda.
The Japanese market is so radically different now though, if Nintendo releases some great casual killer app it could sustain the system far longer then FF13 would PS3.
True enough. I'm sure Wii Sports Winter Getaway and Wii Fit ++ (or something of that nature) will do just that sometime in the next few years.
