TalkBack / RE: Miyamoto Confirms Revolution Control for Zelda

Mario mentions exactly my point, changing bow aiming should happen along with a whole change of the enemies you shoot. Besides, what a waste, bow with the remote could be done also using the depth detection, and you could actually pull the controller like you'd pull a real bow, affecting the distance and speed of the arrow.

Im not going to explain it again :/ its such a long rant, but long story short, imagine putting in a Link to the Past analog stick functionality, the analog stick would be completly wasted, if they just make a normal Metroid Prime game, the potential of the controller would be wasted, and the result would be a gimm!ck, just like analog stick on a 2D zelda game.

"Oh, unless you think Nintendo is ACTUALLY going to release an upgraded Metroid Prime 2 for the Rev as a new game."

yup, yup, thats what Im fearing. They think that the idea alone is ok since they are doing it with Twilight Princess.

I mean, the idea of applying remote functionality to old gameplay ideas instead of new ones, what Ian always says, replacing button presses for gestures, because thats basically all they can do for Twilight Princess unless they revampe the whole game and forget about its GC counterpart, which will also piss me off to no end.

omg! of course, the GB and GBC were so radically different that the case is comparable with this one

In a perfect world, this game would see a revolution installment ( I was reminded of this game by the first dream game posted), of course, it wont happen T_T

This is cheap, plain and simple, For instance I was thrilled about Metroid Prime 3, but it seems Nintendo is ok with just putting remote functionality on a game like Metroid Prime 2. This cast a shadow of doubt of the kind of software they are going to put as a first party on the Rev. Its like they really see the remote as just a gimm!ck, not a new way to play games.

at least Ill get this game, sadly knowing their promises of their exclusive focus on making the ultimate traditional Zelda game were bullsh1t. Ill of course wait and see before dismissing the Revolution, but the usual hype I had for Nintendo's excellent first party titles is absolutely gone.

NWR Forums Discord / RE: Yamauchi tells it like it is

Yamauchi > all. No, Nintendo and the video game industry would not be even remotely the same without Yamauchi, is easy to say that all thas been done couldve happen without him, but Smash Brother, you are just deluding yourself, resurrecting the industry after the crash was almost equivalent to try to resurrect minidiscs or the betamax format right now, we own a lot to the guy.

And rpgs, Ill never get why people think that chosing an attack from a menu to substract a number who represents health is remotely fun.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Rumour come True? Zelda: TP Forward Compatible?
« on: March 15, 2006, 02:38:24 PM »
Bah... Whats bugging me now is that Im seriously concerned about what Nintendo really thinks about  of the potential of the controller, if they think its just ok to cram this functionality in last gen games then I have my doubts on the kind of original software they are going to put for the Rev, this is 180 degree turn in my views of Nintendo as developer, and a big slap to their loyal fans who bought a GC in the first place.

Now my hype for the revolution has dropped completly, Ill just wait and see.

Im probably the only one who think that the obvious sword fighting is the worst of the ideas for the controller, and Im almost sure Zelda Revolution wont have it, sword swinging will be still linked to a button, and the controller's 3D option will be used very, very differently.

And Thief for the Rev, with pickpocketing and lockpicking would be just awesome, and a good example of subtlety.

TalkBack / RE:PGC Announces Its 7th Year Birthday Contest
« on: March 14, 2006, 03:07:30 AM »
The only contest I entered was the christmas postcard one because it was just photoshop, but that was a bit unfair, because those graphic desginers with tons of experience and the right software had a considerable advantage. I have liked the following contests much more, even though I havent participated in any for lack of talent, time or in this case, a camera and an idea all I come up with has very little to do with PGC even if it has some Nintendo characters, I dont even know who this Louie guy is .

I would actually hope to see even more "Alien" stealing, as it's fantastic source material.

I think that by galactic federation you mean space pirates.

I dont think it makes sense to compare making drugs with people who want to have better future and are willing to risk their lifes in order to get that... but I suppose I should just stop going on with my rant before it gets ugly

Its kind of a gray area, yeah its giving them tips, but they are tips to not get killed in the process, not to do anything illegal (besides the frontier-crossing part of course ) It says that if you find some officers, dont resist the arrest, dont show false documents, dont give a false name or nationality etc and also that you have the right to go to the mexican consulate. As I said, Im sure is to prevent deaths and bad treatment of mexicans.

I like it because is realistic, the mexican government didnt just print "DONT CROSS THE FRONTIER ILLEGALLY, ITS BAD" with a big picture of the uncle sam and that creepy stare and just call it a day, because that wouldnt have done a damn thing at all. If this tips saved some lifes I think it was worth it. I suppose that the problem escalated so much that they thought that any controversy would be a lot better than having mexicans and their families dead in the desert, dragged down by rivers in the region, or being taken by these "coyotes" (people with large vehicles that promise the imigrants to get them to the other size, for a prize of course) who god knows what they do to them.

EDIT: LMAO at the traslations those bastards

What you read is WRONG. Is just a friendly warning about the various dangers of crossing the frontier and staying in the US illegally, the first thing that points out is that its far better to try to obtain legally a passport and visa, but since we all know thats not going to happen to most people, and thats also not going to stop them, they give recomendations so that they dont die in the way (thats the part about a woman filling a bottle with water, they advice people that if they are really willing to get through all of this its better to drink salty water if they go through the desert, it can apparently makes you more thirsty, but the risk of dehidration is lower).  They NEVER advice people to get false documents or how to get a job... jesus...

Its almost discouraging, but also reminds mexicans they have their rights and cant be treated badly if border patrols find them. I see it as a response to the likely high rate of deaths and imprisonment that happen to people who want to cross the frontier.

The advice for us colombians though is basically "dont go there, cavity search is almost guaranteed at the airport"

more seriously I remember my mother being really pissed off at the way she was treated at the embassy when she was getting her visa, she needed to go to the states for some english courses for her job (she worked with General Electric at that time), the moment you enter there you are basically treated as a criminal, I can only imagine the treatment you get once you got there Luckily she was with the GE group all the time, but going alone must be a really bad experience, Its disturbing seen my fellow country men so eager to go there and willing to bear the very possible mistreatment and discrimination they are going to recieve just to get out of my poor country T_T

I have one:

"Theres been many rumors about Twilight Princess having functionality for the controller of the Revolution, what do you think about that idea? do you think that it will make the game any better in the case it happens?"

EDIT: i rephrase it

Those bastards at UGO made me click their banner, urgh, as lame as it is, I cant accept Link or Samus being in any lame "vs" poll without winning...

And as far as Zelda sports, fishing minigame was better than all maddens combined, in fact if theres any of this silly rev functionality that would be the only one Id be happy with.

EDIT: Link is already elminated WTF!? get better sponsors PGC! the people at ugo suck beyond words....
