I like the idea but wouldnt that increased the price of the otherwise cheap accesory?

I just want confirmation that the analog stick will be standard with the console, first Iwata says so in the TGS revealing of the controller, and then Harrison says they are not sure yet in the latest GI interview, make up your mind, Nintendo!!

My cousin some days ago told me very excited about this new console that Nintendo was going to release, and how she wanted to buy just because of the concept alone "Its practically virtual reality" I just smiled when she said that!

She is not that big of a gamer but was in the past with the NES, and she loves the sims.

I really think the only possible negative feedback for the remote is going to come from people inside the gaming comunity, whether is fanboyism ir simply a jaded audience that cant acept change, for everyone else the concept is simply amazing.

Fair enough.  Here's some more from the last generation:

Pikmin
Metroid Prime
Ikaruga
Devil May Cry
Grand Theft Auto 3
Warioware

Ikaruga isnt that innovative, certainly not at the level of Pikmin or MP... and DMC? wtf?

You can be negative all you want, but that list that you just gave, every single of those games would be simple awesome for the remote, its not just to make innovative games, is making the games better.

The katamari guy is so stupid, he should try to make his game with the NES pad to see if he can have the same results... after all the controller doesnt matter that much for him.

No no, Im saying that people should judge graphics with video footage (which happens to not exist for the moment), not screenshots. Even RE4 screenshots look bad compared to the game.

I think that video footage is the real deal, up to this day I havent seen a screenshot not touched up that makes the game any justice.

As much as I dont like multiplayer I have to agree with this, the question is how to make a multiplayer "metroid" experience? I like the boss co-op idea, the only bad thing would be that Samus' character would be lowered somehow, because until now she had never needed help from anyone.

How about if a group of players control a gang of space pirates and have to hold a fort or something? or how about controlling a metroid? It would rock with the new controller to manipulate a flying thing.

To be honest, Ill rather get more clever puzzles, more weapons and beams, or more mini bosses that are usually awesome over a multiplayer feature any day. At least we are not forced to use it I hope .

thats good to hear, now I can only hope that they actually give it a real budget prize for us, because DS games cost almost 50 dollars here

I think that is nearly impossible that the game is ready. They had like what? 1 year and few months of development? and this isnt like echoes where the control scheme was stablished and they just expanded the game based on that, this time they have to implement completly new mechanics from the ground up. The advantage this time is that they dont need to start building an engine from the scratch, but still, echoes alone took more than this time frame.

I really would prefer for them to take their time, because I felt echoes a little rushed. The game is very polished and I love it, but the main theme, you know, the echoes part and the echo visor were practically never used, except for some sensors that were nothing more than glorified keys, and the final battle, I had this impression that Nintendo wanted to use the game as a counter-meassure for halo 2 (which really didnt do well at all) and pushed Retro to have the game ready on a time near halo 2's launch.

hahaha, actually I saw an interview with the director and he clarifies that that scene was indeed an allusion to Harry's sexual "awakening".

harry Potter, such a naughty material for all ages!

Does it have an option for left handed users? I just tried to simulate holding the DS sideways and my left hand not only covers the whole non-touchable screen, it also smudges it really easy, its pretty annoying.

1848
I know it sound weird, but I think that making a physical conection of the remote and the analog stick gives the thing a sense of unity, I really dont like the idea of having two separated pieces, it would seem like two controllers that you have to manage at the same time. Besides, Im sure it reduces the cost and makes easier to use other types of extensions besides the shell and the analog stick.

1849
It has that functionality, the very first teaser video shows the guy at the end turning off the console with that button.
