Vudu doesn't read my posts because he thinks I don't use the wheel. How can I tell him that I do use the wheel if he doesn't read my posts? Quite the predicament...

That's a bigger catastrophe than the Kid Icarus recommendation.

Recommended for everyone who hates themselves.

Miyamoto took a dump, and out came Wrecking Crew.

EDIT: Am I becoming like a GameFAQs troll...?

« on: May 06, 2009, 05:32:55 PM »
I nominated Wrecking Crew because it's one of the few NES games on VC that aren't the big name titles everyone knows and loves.  Plus I checked a few sites and it got fairly good reviews.  I don't expect it to win the poll, but it seems like an interesting game I'm sure not to many people have played.
Reviews from 1985, or from more recently? Looks can be deceiving: Enter The Matrix looked interesting and we all know how that game turned out (hint: garbage). There is a reason why many people haven't played it; because it is not a good game.

Too lazy to read all of this, but doing sit-ups burns almost zero calories. The *only* thing that you can do to burn calories is cardiovascular exercise. Pop-Tarts are terrible for you, though when I was a burn-out teenager, I would eat them all the time (cinnamon brown sugar or something like that) and wash it down with Mountain Dew.
While that may be true, you missed the best part of what she(?) said.

All the sugar is gonna go straight to her butt and she is gonna do a stomach exercise(sit-ups) to get rid of it.
Obviously not a regular exerciser, or she does some really different and involved sit-ups
Like I said earlier in the thread I don't really exercise. At the time of writing the topic post that was just the first exercise which entered my head, so I went with it. It was really more about it burning off the extra calories, not necessarily trimming my butt. If I ever did sit-ups I'd do them on an incline, because that takes more effort.

You, Maxi and Mop_it_up both revealed enough for me to realise you and Mop were probably both roled townies.
Looks more like others revealed more about me than I did about myself. Next game, I really am going to swear vendetta on Stratos.

Even though we're supposed to PM the MVP vote, I'm going to go along with everyone else and vote in this thread. I  vote Vudu as MVP.

Also I do want to add something else, both Stratos and Mop_it_up were showing great improvement not to mention they were part of the group that was involved with the game.
Improvement? Ha ha, I got a teammate voted out and I was killed on the second night. I'd say I fared better in the first game. Too bad I never got the chance to strut my stuff.

I knew Pale was Mafia. I just knew it. Too bad I was out before I realized it.

ThePerm and Insanolord I had no clue about. After Yoshidious, I had no idea who left was Mafia. They did a good job at the end there, there was really no real way to tell who of those remaining were Mafia.

This was a very interesting game, even watching it from the sidelines.

Also, kudos to GoldenPhoenix. Great setup, great story, great punctuality... Great job GoldenPhoenix! Can I vote you as MVP?

At this point I'm leaning towards Vudu as MVP. He tried really hard and had a lot of involvement in the game. I'd also say that ThePerm did a good job of hiding himself, and made some good decisions. Tough choice really. Maxi and Stratos fared pretty well also.

I know that Spak-Spang had inadvertently helped the townies by taking out the bomber and himself, but that wasn't intentional so that's not really MVP material.

But I want "Mop's Brand Tastey Cookie Treats"...  :'(
You didn't trademark that so I'm going to call them that when I market them. I'm even going to use your misspelling of "tasty" to be cute. ♥

16709
Are there any cookies left?
Dasmos claimed they were stale and threw them away. I think he was lying however...
I was. I really just ate them all.
I knew it! Nobody would throw away my cookies, not even if they were stale.

No offense Stratos but your cookies probably wouldn't be very good. I could get you some store-bought cookies in the meantime.

16710
If you want some cookies you'll have to wait until next game. Just get me voted out or something, then get yourself out, and we'll have a cookie soirée in the dead thread.

Aw, no Kirby's Adventure. Looks like that game will continue to go under-appreciated, and what's worse is that a crap game like Wrecking Crew beat it out.

Anyways, I voted for Zelda II. It's probably the most unique Zelda game, and even back before Zelda was an established series people still complained about the changes. It seems to be one of those "love it or hate it" affairs.

Also, the title is "Zelda II: The Adventure of Link". Please amend this before I pull out my beautiful hair.

I'm not that interested in the other stuff.
Wrecking Crew: This game is garbage, I can't believe somebody nominated it.
StarTropics: The terrible controls ruin the game for me.
Mega Man 3: Played it too much, not really in the mood for that again.
River City Ransom: Only one I don't own. Might buy it if it's cheap.

Shouldn't this also eliminate Mega Man 3?
So, yeah, probably.  Except that like Zelda II, it's not the obvious choice - that would go to Mega Man 2.
Considering it is still argued today which is better, 2 or 3, I'd say that's debatable. The least popular would probably be Mega Man 6.

Poll results will not be visible until voting ends on the morning of Thursday, May 14th.
For some reason I can see the poll results.

I'm never even awake at that time. I guess I'll have to "cheat" by setting my clock back...

I've heard doing that will bring down turnip prices, but I'm not sure if that's true or not.
How would the game be able to tell if I changed the Wii clock? As long as I didn't set it back farther than the last time I played, I should be fine.

So did any one get a Bus model yet?
Yep. I haven't set it up yet though because it was raining and I wanted to catch that fish that appears only when it is raining. It was hilarious, that was the very first fish I caught. After that I was so excited I forgot everything else I was going to do.

I like the battle system, even in 3D; how is it much different then what's in your average Final Fantasy, anyway?
It's more simple, but it isn't much different. Final Fantasy also got even more boring when it moved to 3D.

16714
Bummer.

Are there any cookies left?
Dasmos claimed they were stale and threw them away. I think he was lying however...

I had Spy Hunter. It was an OK game. The transformations was great. Other than that it wasn't too good.

PN03 was a great game.Overlooked by lots of people.

So far two people think this game is good, anyone else? Cuz i'll go to gamestop now and i'm sure i can find it for like a dollar.
It would be $5 if they had it. Cheaper than eBay for sure.

I hope not too, but I don't think regular Cheerios will go the way of the non-frosted fruit Pop-Tart. They've introduced over a dozen different Cheerios varieties over the years and the original is still the best-selling, so it isn't going anywhere. The sugary cereals don't seem to replace the old standbys: Frosted Mini Wheats didn't replace shredded wheat, flavour-blasted outmeal didn't push off plain oatmeal, and even Malt-o-Meal is still around. I don't know why regular Pop-Tarts are being phased out in favour of the dessert ones, but it's a shame because it gives sensible adults one less quick breakfast option.

I said "if". Though at the way things are going I wouldn't be surprised to see such a Cheerio variety appear in the near future.

That's basically what they are currently being sold as. I don't really care about that in and of itself, as there are also lots of sugar-overload dessert-type cereals out there as well. My problem is that they are discontinuing the regular non-frosted fruit flavours. You know, the ones which made them popular in the first place. It'd be like if a Choco-Blasted Marshmallow-Infused Sugar-Coated Jitter-Starter Cheerios replaced the regular Cheerios.

Toaster Strudels are better
I like the crust better but the filling is too sweet. Plus they need to be toasted; when I'm running late, I just grab a Pop-Tart without toasting it.

Oh and if your metabolism is slower than average, make sure to drink lots of water everyday.
I do, about 64 ounces everyday. I keep a 32-ounce bottle of water in the fridge which I just grab whenever I get thirsty.

Man they don't have the Apple Pop Tarts anymore? Those and the unfrosted Strawberry ones were the only ones I liked as a kid.
I haven't seen them in years. All I can ever find are the strawberry ones, and even they will usually be sold out if I go shopping on the weekend.

I don't care if anyone thinks they are nasty, I love Pop-Tarts.
I like the plain fruit ones, but the dessert-type ones are nowhere near as good as the desserts they try to imitate. If I'm going to consume empty calories, it has to be something that would be worth it.

I've never liked these things. I think its just one of those situations where, because i never had it as a kid the adult me just can't stand it.
I think many people are like this, they tend to prefer foods they grew up with. That's why it's important to get kids to eat vegetables, because if they don't learn healthy eating habits when they are young, they won't have them as an adult either.

I caught the end of a commercial for Pop-Tarts the other day where a mom was serving her kids ice cream with half a Pop-Tart sticking out of it, so I think Kellogg agrees that they're a dessert.
They are still in the breakfast aisle, so I'm not so sure about that.

If you had read my posts, you'd know I do use the Wii Wheel.

...This is an endless loop, isn't it?

Ever seen users interact in a forum a litle too much? Back and forth comments that have nothing to do with the topic at hand, and their conversations sound like gibberish cuz you're an outsider.. when i see that sorta thing running rampant, while posters who are actually staying on topic get ignored/trolled, its just frustrating.
You must really hate me... :'(

What would be the point? Even if a third dimension were added, it'd still be the same game with a different presentation.
That's a very close-minded view of Pokemon.  Part of the thrill of Pokemon is discovering the Pokemon world.
I suppose that's true. I was thinking more about the battle system which, as the Pokémon Stadium games have shown, is just as mind-numbing in 3D as it is in 2D. In fact, since they drag on ever longer, they are probably even more boring in 3D.

Those remarks about Zelda: OoT are so wrong that I'm not even going to comment on them...

16723
Tough break DAaaMan64. It's probably no comfort but I never believed you were Mafia. I had some cookies for you but Dasmos threw them in the trash.

I'm also surprised to see Stratos here. I guess he knew too much...

This has been nothing short of an interesting game.

I appreciate the timeline as well, as then I can check the results of the day's voting and actions before going to bed.

I've always been too paranoid to try replacing the batteries.
The way I see it, if you can't save your game then that makes it pretty much unplayable. You don't really have much to lose if the game stops working entirely if you messed up.

Pro-tip, something in the game boy pocket makes it drain the cartridge batteries if you leave the cartridge in while its off.  So be careful out there!
Where did you hear about that?

I was playing my old copy of Crystalis, and to my dismay...it doesn't save anymore. It was fine a few weeks ago though.
Just to make sure you haven't forgotten, you need to hold in the Reset button when you turn the power off in order to make sure your save data will remain. This applies to even if you get a blank screen when trying to get the game to work.

Crystalis was re-released on the Game Boy Color, it might be less hassle to track down a copy of that.

Well I just bought Wario Land 1-4 so I may have to change the batteries for some of them.
Probably not. My 23-year-old copy of Zelda still hold saves (I still can't believe that game is older than I am...), and I'm always surprised to hear when a game's battery goes dead. Pokémon Gold/Silver/Crystal are an exception: they all contain a clock, so the battery goes dead after approximately six years.

Technically, Game Boy/Color games contain a CR2025 battery, but you can still replace them with a CR2032. It might even last a little longer, too.

I don't think Game Boy Advance games contain a battery, but they have a different type of screw and can't be opened with a 3.8mm GameBit so I don't know.

Something else which uses a CR2032 battery are computers, to power the clock when the computer is powered off. I had to replace mine a couple of years back. Some TV remotes also use the nickel-sized battery. I would be surprised if the GameCube and Wii didn't use it to power their clocks.
