After I ended up enjoying the SNES Classic more than I thought, I had considered getting this when it restocked. But now seeing NES games as part of the Switch online service, I'll probably just stick with that.

Hopefully. I’m not sure what dropping the Virtual Console name accomplishes to that end. Maybe it helps organize third parties games that never appeared on Nintendo platforms before.

I figured it would mean that the games didn't have a set pricing structure by system, and instead had varying prices for games from the same system. Though I guess they did start doing a little bit of varying with the Game Boy VC. I don't know how the royalties / legal side of things work, but perhaps it would be easier and more profitable for third parties if they didn't have to use the VC name. No idea on that one though. I also figured it would mean the games could have more added features instead of just being straight-up emulations. And if there were any negative stigma with the VC name (not sure if there is, just pondering) it would help do away with that.

This was all what I was hoping for a year ago at least. No idea what will happen.

Damn that's quite a list! Which ones are you excited to try out?

I was serious when I said I was looking forward to playing the Burger King games! I've now played all three of them, they're surprisingly decent games. In fact I dare say Sneak King is the best stealth game ever created.

After that, I've started up Banjo-Kazooie Nuts & Bolts, a game which any old Nintendo enthusiast would likely be curious about. It seems to be more about figuring out the right sort of vehicle to complete various challenges rather than racing, which is a good thing. I think it could be a good game in itself, but it does feel like a strange choice to have used Banjo-Kazooie for this idea.

When I'm done with that game, I'll probably check out Kameo next, I'm mildly curious about that as well. I'll also check out DooM 3 since I never had much chance to try it before. Beyond that, there's nothing in particular which jumps out at me. There's a reason I never had an Xbox 360 before, hee hee.

I think the issue with trying to change existing character movesets is that there are people like me who already like Mario and Luigi the way they are (though I didn't like the changes to Luigi in Brawl and after). I guess if they changed Mario, it would give more reason to keep Dr. Mario who would have Mario's old moveset. It probably makes less sense to have more than one Mario on the roster than it does with Link, since those Links are actually different people. But I feel like if they wanted a new moveset for Mario and Luigi, they'd need to find a way to keep the old movesets. I guess they could have both Dr. Mario and Dr. Luigi have the old ones?

I feel like this might be part of the reason they didn't change Ganondorf very much in Brawl and 4, aside from making new animations that better fit the character. They may have felt there were people who already liked the moves in Melee.

I found out that the system was repaired once before, and the label on the rear of the console reads "2009-6-12 :Service Date." With any luck, the usual problems have been fixed and it will last for a decent time longer.

They transferred my unused DSiWare points to the Wii Shop when it closed, but I had to call and ask.

That's interesting, I didn't know they would do that for anyone.

I have a feeling one reason they did that is because they both use points. They probably won't convert Wii Points to eShop currency, though I guess you never know.

They recently announced a Sega Genesis collection with 50 games for PS4, XBONE, and PC, but not for Switch. How does that make sense? Switch would be perfect for this! This has jumped to the top of my list of games I want to see ported to Switch.
