Nintendo Gaming / List of Known Revolution games.
« on: April 21, 2006, 10:10:44 AM »
I thought it would be good to make a list of all known Revolution games now that information is coming out.  Not Rumors, but actual known games.

Smash Brothers Revolution
Mario Revolution
Metroid Prime 3
Animal Crossing Revolution
Tony Hawk Downhill
Sponge Bob Square Pants
Dragonball Z
Nights
Hudson Flight Game
(3 EA Titles)
Red Steel

What else is there?  This is a pretty strong list already.

Kairon:

Ha.  I like that.  Have it be time sensitive...and something Random like how to fight Luigi in Mario's Adventure mode.

Except it should be even more trippy then that.  You literally fall into Sonic's world instead of Mario's and you play through the level then have to fight Sonic.

Afterwards, you are like WHAT THE!!!  Did I just unlock him?  And the answer is No.

And you wait for the eventual time release to come up again to play the level.

(Ha, that is evil.)

You know.  Who cares about stage fright.  You will be playing Nintendo probably with Reggie, Shiggy and crew.

You will be able to go to the entire show and see every booth and everthing.

I won't win...but if I do.  I am going to have a hard decision to make.  Who to take.  My wife, or my best friend who loves gaming.  I think I would take my best friend.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam confirmed for Rev

I really like the sound of this direction.  I remember the original Tony Hawk having those downhill levels where you were constantly moving to the end of the goal and I loved the experience.

If you could get Tony Hawk Downhill Racing to feel like that, and have a good trick system I am game.

I think the Trick System can be modified and simplified some and not hurt the Hawk experience as well.

Ian Sane:  That is actually a great idea.  I could see that as bonus levels inbetween the adventure...and sense the Revolution can play every system it is completely plausible to achieve.

KDR:  I originally thought that.  But I decided I like the randomness of not knowing when you will be shot.

You can still protect yourself by avoiding being in front of the Ducks.  (which yeah I know if you are in front of them how do you know...) but I think they would move fast enough to know.

Then if you get hit, you save a Ducks life...and that could be an award at the end of the bout.  Get shot three times and you are a Duck Saver or something.

Or Animal Activist might be a better name.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Rumour: Nunchuck to have Dual 3D motion sensing
« on: April 21, 2006, 08:07:37 AM »
I think this would potentially make it very confusing to use the analog stick at the same time as moving with in 3D space.

That isn't easy...it would be a complete mind trip on the brain...and I dunno if it would benefit.

I can see using the analog in one hand and the wand in the other.  Or two wands.

But just imagine moving one hand in 3D space, while trying to move with the analog stick, and push buttons for actions all in one hand.  THAT IS OVERKILL, and would defeat the purpose of being easy to control.

PartyBear:  Oh, I want the platforming levels still.  Definately.  I just don't want the bosses to be playable characters, but larger, bigger battles.

Ok.  Sorry to double post.  But this deserves its own entry.

This is the PERFECT Mario Boss Battle for end of an adventure level.

Arena is surrounded by lava on both sides, and is made up of Pipes from varying heights.

There are also Pipes above you.

The battle starts out fighting just one of the Koopa kids.  Once you beat them.  2 show up.  And once you beat one of them another shows up making it three.

At the same time.  One is popping out of the top pipes shooting at you, and another is popping out of the bottom pipes shooting at you.

At the end of the battle you are struggling against 4 Koopa kids in a regular battle and 2 attacking you from pipes.

PartyBear:  Giant Donkey Kong has been done.  I want bosses that are exclusive to the Adventure mode.

Donkey Kong:  King K. Rool would be awesome.

Mario Brothers could be a bout with all the Koopa Kids

Metroid:  A giant Kraid is a must.

Kirby:  Perhaps King Dedede  (unless he is a playable character)

Pokemon:  (I think a battle with Team Rocket would be fun.)

Speaking of Pokemon.  I think Nintendo should do something different this game with Pokemon characters.

Keep Pikachu and Jigglypuff in the game.  But I would love a Trainer character whose special moves are all related to calling different Pokemon to help him out.  I would figure he would be a overall very weak normal attacking character, but would have some cool Pokemon related combos...and perhaps can self heal with a Pokemon's help.

I dunno.  I really want to make the adventure mode bigger and something really special for single player.

Hocotate:

I love your Duck Hunt Idea.  It would make a simple Two Platformed level (Two trees on each side, branches you can jump on.)

Ducks would fly around, and occassionally a white flicker will happen onscreen and the ducks would die.

After the Dog grabs the duck or ducks he throws powerups onto the playfield.

You sir are brilliant.

That must be a level.

Hey Thanks for the Props Ice.

I have tried to think of a balanced and cool means of having Sonic in the game.  I although I think he would easily be one of the coolest additions to the game, I just don't see alot of variety in his special moves to warrant him a playable character.

Now Viewtiful Joe would be awesome.

I would love a move that causes everyone on a small radius around him that gets hit to slow down.  And I think a timed MACH Speed burst would be great for combos.  But what would really make him special and different would be to require him to go into ZOOM for Smash attacks.  This would be accomplished by taking up one special move...but would then allow him to have more variety of regular and Smash Attacks, so that he could truly be VIEWTIFUL to play.

Though, if Nintendo went around asking for 3rd party licenses, I think Capcom should allow Mega Man of all characters to be added.

General Chat / RE:New Stavesacre Album in Stores TODAY
« on: April 20, 2006, 02:53:19 PM »
I can't believe they didn't like their self titled album either.

I have seen Stavesacre in concert a total of like 5 times.

(3 tooth and nail weekends)

1 Single concert for them.

and I am sure one other I just can't remember.

I don't know if SpeakEasy or Absolutes is my favorite album.

Anyway.  My friend just finished listening to the new album for a second time and said I have to pick it up.  So perhaps I will look for it on sale over the weekend.

"Revolution is just a word...
Loses Meaning each time its heard
Won't Mean A thing until it Hurts."

Is Nintendo listening?

If Nintendo had 8 worlds what would the themes be?

Mario
Metroid
Zelda

are definates....

Kirby
Pikmin
Pokemon

could all be in it.

I dunno about 4 levels to each world.  Worlds should be structured like the game.

Metroid should place you in a world where you must find your way to the boss, beat it and then retreat in the required time limit.  Fail and you start all over.

Zelda should be like a Legend of Zelda 2 dungeon.  Search for keys, solve a few puzzles, and get the dugeon key and special item to use against the boss.

Pokemon could literally be turned into a turn based battle where you select to use items, smash attacks, regular attacks, bock, and throw.  It could be designed like paper, rock, scissors for simplicity.

Mario definately needs to be a 4 level world...and designed just like Super Mario Brothers.  Above ground, Below Ground, moving platform, dungeon level with boss.

I think the variety in adventure mode would make it quite original and very enjoyable to play through several times.

I would suggest trading it in for store credit and wait for the DS Lite to come out.  If you are going to get a DS wait until that beautiful thing is available.  I would also try as many games out that you can while you wait.

Mario Kart DS you can't go wrong with.
Metroid Hunters is great if you like multiplayer wifi death match and you have access to it easily.
Mario and Luigi Partners in Time is a very funny and enjoyable RPG

Really (except for Sports) you can find a great game on the DS that fits any gaming taste...even the odd ones.

Strategy
RPG
Racing
FPS
Platformer
Adventure

It is all available for you.

A list of games I haven't finished and own:

Bomerman Generations
Metroid Prime
Geist
Ikarugi (Well this one is completely acceptable)
Mario Golf Mushroom Tour  (Does this count?)
SSX3 (I haven't beaten all of Peak 3 with even one character)

Mario Kart DS (I haven't completed the missions, or Mirror mode)

Can't think of the others right now.

I guess.

Really, it is just a matter of opinon on game length.  I dunno why I let it get outta hand with my opinion.

I guess I just wanted to explain myself.  Still, I do believe that Nintendo was on to something when they talked about most gamers are not even finishing games anymore.

If you have skins that are different, then you don't get the cool and subtle changes between clones.  Doctor Mario and Mario are very cool and different.  So is Ganondorf and Captain Falcon.

Though, I do think Ganondorf needs his sword in combat.

I want new characters that actually add new elements to the game.

Pit could do this if designed well.

Luigi based on Luigi's Mansion definately could.

Olimar with a fun pikmin army would be great.

I would also enjoy a Luigi's Mansion themed level.

Also more villians need to be in the game.  I don't think they neccessarily all need to be playable.  I want adventure mode to have huge crazy boss battles, and finally I would get rid of those boring hands and create a more interesting final boss.

Adventure Mode should have like 10 giant bosses to battle.  Something like a Metroid Boss, Boswer, I Zelda Boss...ect.  ect.

Wandering and maybe Kairon:

Because there are several games I want to play.

Ok.  lets run through.  I want to play New Mario, Legend of Zelda, Red Steel, Super Smash Brothers Revolution, Zelda DS, Metroid Prime Revolution.

Those are just the games I think are coming out this year...and I may potentially have many more games I want to play.

Right now I am already limited to how many games I can buy.  (Probably 4-5)  Of those games, if one is so long that it takes me 1/4 of a year to beat with my schedule then I will probably NEVER FINISH IT.  That is a problem.  Or it means I will only buy 3 games so I can beat all of them.

Right now I think I have 3-4 games in my collection I enjoyed and really loved the game, but I have never beaten it because I got distracted with other games.  Some of them include really amazing games you would think everyone would finish.

7124
Nitsu:  The difficulty wasn't manufactored.  If you were good you didn't get hit.  The difficulty is still avoiding all the crazy baddies in the first place.

The game had brilliant and large level designs, which were creative, challenging, and full of depth.

The mechanic to get Mario back I thought was imaginative, and added some challenge to the system yes, but mostly it added a depth to the concept of the game.  And it was nice that hey you didn't immediately die hitting an enemy, you had a chance to recover.

I think that alone allowed Nintendo to really push the difficulty level up.

If this is a sequel for the Revolution...Sega could just put the original on a Revolution disk.

Simple.  I don't want it for the download service, and we shouldn't expect it.  The deal never mentioned Saturn games or beyond.
