Tokyo - Sony Corp announced their first loss in more than ten years, and precised that they would eliminate 10,000 positions after loosing leadership in music players and TVs due to competitors like Apple Computers Inc. and Sharp Corp. and the downgrade of their stock.
The second worldwide maker of electronics said that it would cut its labor (people) by 6.6% by March 2008 and close down eleven plants, said Howard Stringer, CEO, in a press conference in Tokyo, where he predicted a loss of $90 million, which changes the sales forecast set last july. (Bloomberg)

This is really big, but at the same time, it isn't. If it's by 2008, would this affect their games division? How many of those 10,000 would be from SCE? Can anyone track the original article from Bloomberg?
With rumors of PS3 launching in 2007 if the Xbox 360 doesn't sell well, is it possible they are not just watching the market, but also their pockets and how much of a loss they can take with PS3?

What? No!
Infinite replay value > First run through the game, 20 hours. Second run through the game, 6 hours.
Fighters you can just play forever, they are dynamic (sp?), point and click adventure games begin AND end, period. No more to find/do. In a fighter, even if you have 100% of everything, if you have friends (or it's online), it's like the game is a fresh and new experience.

So, PGC gave it a 9, IGN gave it a 6 and so far, it has a 74% on Game Rankings.
Is this a buy or a rent?
I read both reviews and I think that IGN's review is kinda negative. It comes off as if the game is really a miss in some areas, while the PGC review is more positive towards the game, and at the same time pointing its flaws. With so many games in the horizon, is this game a must buy?

I didn't like Smash Bros. that much. In fact, I bought the game and sold if for store credit two times. I just couldn't get into it. All of my friends loved it, and I always got my butt kicked.
Still, the aspect of playing alone to get trophys and stuff, doesn't work for me.
What I would really like is Nintendo to get Capcom to Publish more 2D fighters on Nintendo (Home) Systems. Through the N64, I never had a 2D fighter, so I had to pop out my Snes to play Street Fighter 2. On GameCube theres only ONE 2D fighter (that I know of), CvsS2EO, which is good, but not on par with the Marvel vs Capcom games. Why couldn't the N64 have all those 2D fighters? Why did we get just ONE for GameCube?

My most played GameCube game is Capcom vs SNK 2 EO. Me and my friends would play all sorts of multiplayer games, but we always ended up playing CvsS EO, why? We love 2D fighters.

Sony crying? More like advertising the heck out of PSP. I've started to see the same launch adds running almost on every channel, exclusives on the PSP's capabilities on local newspapers and even on local radio. It's crazy.

I agree. I think it just got cancelled and they just haven't told us yet, or maybe it's still in developement and it will come out later than the PSP version, to sparkle Japanesse sales of the PSP.
