I think the lack of an overarching story sounds intriguing. Better than farm boy with an unknown past turns out to be the chosen one and has to save the world thing we've seen a million times.
Then again, I always preferred the monster of the week episodes of X-files over the Mythos episodes.

Interestingly, Warframe uses a proprietary game engine called Evolution. Add another engine to the Switch list.
