4 swords-type games in general are perfect for the DS. I want to see more of them, and the original itself.

Yeah, Fours Swords Adventure is the perfect candidate for the DS. Much better than expecting everyone to have a GBA and cable. I know it's been announced, but as of yet there isn't a concrete date.

Don't speculate on this too much, it will probably just result in a big disapointment.

There's a strange looking "O" in the "REVOLUTION."

Anyway, I LOVE the catalog thing, because, well, NINTENDO'S DOING IT! Nintendo is using its history as an advantage, but not a focal point, I hope.  This may be a big stretch, but what about the games you download being able to be played online? That would rock.

Great looking system, neutral colors, proffesional looking and, dare I say, sleek.

I searched and I came up with this.

Of course we are speculating on DVD playback and the LCD screen, but with the news that has been confirmed, they are both more likely than before (especially DVD playback).

I like that screen idea. I really hope they implement that one. I'm glad they made it so it can easily hook up to a computer monitor. Not only does it mean you have more screens to play on, but most computer monitors are capable of HD video, so a school-going non-working kid like me can take advantage of the increased quality without having to replace my TV.

Edit: Gamecube discs were not dual layered.

TalkBack / RE:Nintendo Officially Announces DS Online Service

Does Gamespy actually ever team up with the developers to get the best experience? The difference here is that Nintendo will be supervising and act as "quality control." I'm sure they won't let their entrance to the online market (aside from PSO) be a crappy one.

Ummmm...they're working fine for me. IGN has posted more or less the same article as PGC, though.

Well, this is the U.S. confirmation I think we all expected. The only difference is that there seems to be no Nintendo-specific hotspots. As long as the setup for each hotspot is minimal, I think it's a smart move. Japan is much smaller, and more technology-saturated. It would be much easier to get special hotspots around Japan than it would be here.

If we're talking about the DS here, the wireless vs. wired debate is futile. There is no way that you are going to plug in a DS to an ethernet cable.

If we're talking about the Revoltion, it is still useless. We don't know a thing about the console and here you are complaining about Nintendo forcing you to abandon your wired router. It's crazy!

Nintendo Gaming / RE: No Live Webcast on Nintendo.com?

Well, depending on what's going on at school and what's planned to be shown, I might stay home one day. I've only missed two days this year and I have good grades.

School sucks. I'll miss the live coverage. Oh well, I'm sure lots of it is boring, right?

Eh, I've got a router in my house, and I don't care if it's Nintendo approved or not

Exactly. It's just like how there are certain ISPs that are guarunteed to work with Xbox Live, though others work, too.

I'm really excited about this announcement. Nintendo couldn't have done online play any better way. Though it's dissapointing that 3rd party developers can still charge us money, I don't think many will. Either way, I think it's for the best. Some developers wouldn't make the game online at all if they couldn't profit from it.

I recieved my DS on launch day, and while I wish there were more games for it, I'm satisfied with my purchase. I'd rather buy it early and get the good new games as they come out than wait for one really big must-have and then catch up later. I think that new, better games will start coming out a lot more soon. We'll have Wario Ware in just a couple weeks! (And the new video of Mario Kart from that convention held in Paris is very good looking)

Did you draw by hand? That's pretty cool if you did, everything of mine was made with the pen tool in Photoshop. Unless they're placed over a mouse and keyboard, my hands are pretty useless artisticly.

Very nice, T. Southerland. Too bad it exceeds the dimension restrictions (400 x 309, in either orientation). Still a nice wallpaper, though.

The only things that aren't drawn by me are the characters (though some editing was done to remove the Paper Mario logos as well as Peach's hand posistions) and the mushroom/star resting on "Happy Holidays"

Entries must be the original work of the entrant and may use materials copyrighted by Planet GameCube, as well as materials copyrighted by other companies (e.g. game publishers) only if the entry includes the disclaimer "All game materials are the property of their respective copyright holders." Incomplete entries will be discarded.

So does that mean we should include the disclaimer ON our card?

TalkBack / RE:Huge Nintendo DS Japan Update
« on: October 07, 2004, 04:27:54 AM »
So do you think you do it by moving where Mario is on the map? I'm really confused here. There old system was fine for me (directional pad, press a button to run), but I guess I'll have to give this a try.

Also, if you move with the stylus, and for most people that's with the right hand, do you use the stylus to jump?

So you actually move around with the stylus? DO you do it by pressing the "buttons" on the bottom screen shown in the new screenshots?

I enhanced the brightness/contrast on the image, for those of you having difficulty seeing the port. LINK

As for the stylus attached, I'd much rather have it have a little hole to put it in that "clicks" it in.

This functionality will help consoles to finally become a mainstream entertainment medium, and put the stereotypical image of the 'computer gaming geek' to rest.

No matter how popular gaming may become, I will always be a gaming geek.

They said that game systems will become homw entertainment systems. They are wrong. At least when it comes to Nintendo. I hope that Nintendo never even considers putting DVD compadibility into a system. Let alone a home theater...
