O_O OMG!!!! you are an insider, you have inside information, all hail Knoxxville!!!

j/k

But assuming that the recent IGN report is actually true, then you have made a very good guess. The same guess that alot of other people have made, but all the rest of us refuse to believe. I still refuse to believe it, but I guess we'll find out for sure in a few months.

I'm crossing my fingers hoping for atleast double the stats that IGN has revealed so far.

I took it to the electronics desk, showed it to the clerk and asked him if they were honoring the ad. I pointed out that it was in-store only. He brought over a manager, who looked at the printouts. The manager was really friendly and said sure, so me and a buddy of mine both got a DS for $99

Now, your mileage may vary, I have heard that not all Target stores are honoring it.

BTW, I took it to Walmart first since they do price matching but they said it would have to be the actual catalog, not just an online printout. I have heard Circuit City is price matching it though.

I bought my mom a DS for christmas about 3 days ago from circuit city($129.99=$140.71 after tax)
then I came back to this thread this morning b4 work and Mystic reminded me that I posted that DS for $99.00 @ target ad about a week ago, so...

I went back to circuit city today, with reciept and print out of screen capture(which I provided in this thread). They said they got a memo about this mis print and that they weren't supposed to match it.

but long story short....

I knew the guy working there, so now I got my DS discounted ($96.99=$104.99 after tax)

Did you miss my post on VMD's or what? upto 50 gb on red laser tech using existing DVD drives only needing a software upgrade & its fully backwards compatible with standard DVD.  Not to mention that it cost just as much to manufacture as DVD 9 does today.

Am I the only one that sees this tech or something similar to it as the most-likely scenario?

Nintendo hasn't said anything about the storage capacity. My guess is a plain 4.7GB or 9GB capacity since that's the least complex way to maintain compatibility with Cube games and DVDs.

It's also not possible for "more DVD standards to be supported in the future" since there are physical differences between the standards. You can't remove a DVD dongle and replace it with a theoretical blu-ray one. The entire drive would have to be replaced because the equipment is different.

you can't replace it with Blu-ray one, but you could replace it with a VMD one

(VMD) Versatile Multilayer Disc

uses current red-laser tech and only needs a sofware upgrade.

But I'm glad to see that it probably wouldn't be that expensive to do and that Nintendo is acknowledging that the remote won't work for everything.  And I do think they did a good job with the DS regarding accessories so hopefully that will translate to the Rev.  The only difference is this really requires something being included with every controller, not just every system.

I say that if it is cheap enough to include with the purchase of a game(@ no xtra charge) then why isn't cheap enough to have one come with the purchase of every controller (and one packed in w/ the system)?

Grow old so that you're no longer a greasy emo high school with bad posture and even worse poetry skills.  Other benefits include having a consistent vocal range and a considerably better taste in haircuts.

Side effects include an ever increasing waist size, back hair and a receding hairline.  If you think having zits is bad wait until the first time you notice a mole that used to be concealed by hair is now visible.

WOW, no wonder you're so bitter...

but, as an attractive young black man with a full head of hair and never having had an acre problem, much less a break out, really has no business in this thread now do I?
