We're getting our second Batman and you're going to enjoy it.

And like many other celebrities with kids.... Their kids probably asked them to be in a Marvel movie as a brag to their "social circle".
I'm sure Taika has a good minimally recurring role for him. Like a Hela type role. Powerful, good sized speaking part (main antagonist?), potential for future cameo, but no heavy commitments.

Crawl - Wow, now that was intense!!!

First time in a long time where you watch a creature feature where the main characters didn't do a bunch of dumb **** to end up in the situation they were in. Not gonna say they did everything right, or that I wouldn't have made a lot of the same decisions if I were them in that same situation, but damn, was that **** intense.

Now I have no idea how high a tolerance of pain the dad had to be walking around at all, but this daughter is real trooper. I guess once that adrenaline kicks in, theres no time to bleed, ain't no time for pain, and this aint the time to die.

I had heard it was a good one, and I was not let down.
Let's hope they do not make a sequel though. There does not need to be a part 2. lol

Honestly, that's how Marvel "cracked" the superhero genre, is by incorporating other genres into the mix to keep things from feeling "too samesy" from movie to movie.

We've had the "monster Movie", the Norse Mythology, the WW2 epic, the Spy thriller, team up(s), 90's throwback, Gladiator/Prison Escape, Heist, Space Opera, High School Drama/Field Trip, Time Travel and then the Grand Epic Mashup Finale.

Upcoming we have our Secret Agent/Special Ops, Kung Fu/Martial Arts, Mind Bending/Horror, Vampire/Supernatural, Love Story/Character Swap, Sitcom/Mindfuck, Buddy Buddy Action, etc etc.

They always trying to keep it fresher than same characters, same situations, different paint.

Well, with Hulk, Universal only had first refusal of distribution rights on any Hulk titled/starring role movie, which they would never do with how much money an MCU movie is all but guaranteed to make. But Marvel/Disney isn't passing up on all that profit, so they instead avoid a "Hulk" movie.
Universal is better off selling it off for something instead of sitting on it indefinitely for nothing when Marvel has already shown they don't need it, and can just make a Hulk show on D+ instead.

So if they did work something out, I wonder what Disney gave Comcast to release those rights.

As for Namor.... I assume it was also a distribution thing as well, as Feige had previously said that they were the only ones that could make the movie, but there were complication with making it happen that they'd have to work out first.

As for a potential Namor movie being a copy of Aquaman, I find it funny that James Wan supposedly worked with James Cameron on the underwater tech since it's the same stuff he was developing for Avatar 2-4. And now the Avatar movies will be Disney Productions.

edit: and there is no proof that the "Superhero" genre is winding down.
Joker... comic based, no super in it afaik, just crossed a $Billy, and Marvel has been on a "break" since Far from home.  There is TONS of hype building for the upcoming D+ series and the MCU movies, but it's been a little on the quiet side while Marvel reloads and DC kinda figures out what's next.... (WW84, Birds of Prey & SS2) and how that fits into whatever it is they are doing on the united movie front.

Dracula: 3 part mini series on BBC/Netflix

I originally checked this out as someone had said that it loosely follows the Bram Stoker Dracula book that I had read several times in my youth. Not that I remember all the details of that book, but it was one of the few books that I owned that I read more than once or even twice.
Well... I must really not remember most of the book, because I think only the 1st part, and maybe part of the second part were loosely from the book. the 3rd part was more of a "bringing it modern" telling of the story. It wasn't overly gory, and no nudity... after having watched the entire series, I would even let my daughter watch if she wanted. It wasn't exactly scary, and she really wanted to watch it with me, but I only let her watch the end (probably the nastiest part), as it wasn't that bad.
One of the best parts was how Dracula was actually quite funny in his own way. Centuries of this ****, and still hadn't lost his sense of humor or comedic timing.

each episode is of movie length (1.5hrs), but there are only 3 parts, so I was able to binge it over these last 2 days. I like the majority of it, but I'm not too fond of part 3, and more specifically how it ends. I feel like they could've made a longer series out of it had they handled it differently, but I guess that may not have been their goal. And that's a shame, because I would have tuned in for a longer series depending on how they handled part 3 differently.

Jumanji 2

Honestly, it was entertaining, just not as funny as I thought it would be going in. The Rock wasn't quite capturing the Danny Devito I wanted, and Kevin Hart didn't really capture Danny Glover at all imo. There was so much potential in the concept, but I just think it wasn't executed nearly as well as I had pictured it in my head going in. I imagine a "ghostly overlay" may have helped bring it back to who they were attempting to portray, but that might not've worked out well either.

Alita: Battle Angel

Damn, I actually got into this one, and now I see why everyone was clamoring for a sequel to this movie.... mostly because they end it as if there was a continuation to the story, as it was left rather unresolved. The main bad guy was still there, the main mission was still uncompleted, and she ends the movie directly calling him out through gesture of "I'm coming for you" in the battle arena. Ultimate cliff hanger, and now they are obligated to tell the other half of this story. I promise to watch it in a more timely manner this time... possibly even in the theater.

What about Ghost Rider and Fantastic 4?

What about them?

Marvel got F4 back in the Fox Acquisition, and they've had Ghost Rider for a while now, as far as I know.

Feige clipped Marvel TV's plans to use Ghost Rider in a Hulu series when he took over all Marvel story related duties (Movies, TV, Animation, Comics<?>)

Blade & Moon Knight are coming, and some would like to think that's gonna lead to a Marvel Knights situation that also probably includes Ghost Rider.

Lots of deliciousness coming down the MCU Pipeline very soon.

1235
MCU Cosmic is passing around a "rumor" that Feige and Marvel Studios may have gotten full rights for Hulk and Namor back from Universal, and that Feige has also been asking Ruffalo to pitch some Hulk movie ideas at him as they are looking to possibly work in a Hulk solo film.

This would mean that only Spider-man is still at large for Marvel, assuming the "rumor" is true.

Chase Center was nice. and they did have some local places supply food, but the quality was expectedly worse than the original shop, due to the "mass production" needed to feed the crowd demand. I had Bakesale Betty's Crispy Chicken sandwhich, and it was good.... slightly overcooked, but still very good.

Afterwards we did the Warriors Hooptopia which was pretty fun for what it was. My daughter really enjoyed it. Oh, and we made it on TV during the aftershow right behind Chris Mullen. I even got a pic of us on their TV. LOL

it was a good time, even if it wasn't a good game.
We had no D-Lo, no Looney, and when we got up in the 3rd to use the bathroom.... Draymond mysteriously got booted from the game. I never saw what happened, but we were suddenly down 12 when we came back to our seats. Dubs never recovered from that setback.

I'm about to be off to go watch the Warriors vs the Pistons.
check out Chase Stadium in SF

games not till 5:30, so I'll probably leave in 20 minutes, as I'm trying to get to the stadium about an hour before game time, and still not sure where I'll find parking. might still BART it as well....

I really don't care for this game, as I haven't seen or heard a single second of anything about the Pistons until last night about them trying to trade Drummond to the Hawks, Celts, and 2-3 other teams that seemed interested.

I'm actually more interested in the food stands they'll have up for local restaurant vendors. I heard the food was really really good, and surprisingly not expensive.

Yeah, some pre-existing contacts gotta be honored.... or renegotiated.

It is surprising, because they left us under the impression that they had worked most of this out, but they got most of that stuff for the launch and into the new year, so I guess that's something. It's a relatively minor amount of content temporarily leaving the platform, but still something to be surprised about.

I'd participate, but I'm too lazy to resave my avatar to a new image account, as the current one I believe was on tinypic before that shutdown.

I'd have to think of a good meme to switch to before i even make the effort. LOL

edit: maybe I'd avatarize the spongebob one. LOL

I actually just decided to try it out.

test words.... tomorrow, yesterday, and "and"

3 words swiftkey would never recognize on the first 20 attempts.... I usually result to just manually typing those words or choosing them from one of the "possibilities". G Board got them every single time.

I run it for a few days and see if we click or not.
So far so good though.

It appears WandaVision is ahead of schedule and may be coming in 2020 now instead of 2021

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lQP4bk1uGXM

it is also rumored that all the MCU D+ content is ahead of schedule and everything could get moved up by a few months.

1243
Looks like we now know where Blade is gonna slot into the MCU

Moon Knight introduces Dracula, with Dracula comes Blade, Blade goes from D+ show to Theatrical Release. Things about to get crazy in the MCU between crossovers in theaters and D+/Hulu

SWYPE

anyone remember this program!? drag your finger across the keyboard and it predicitvely types for you. learns your most common words and will correct them for you!?

of course you do.
they eventually teamed up with Dragon speech recognition software, and then I had to get a new phone with and reinstall apps, and Swype was gone.... I was forced to use Swiftkey.

well, it's NYE and I can stand Swiftkey and it's non-ability to learn my words, and constant need to auto-correct my words to something that makes absolutely no sense, or not even close to what I was typing, even though the word I clearly swyped is the first choice on the line (it would select the 2nd or 3rd possible word, instead of the obvious 1st choice word... makes no damn sense) and I am certainly tired of it deciding to autocorrect my text after the fact, even if i selected the correct word, or even typed in the word letter by letter, just as I'm hitting the send button so that I now have to send a 2nd text to correct the word(s) that I watched change as the messages was to be sent.

I'm very annoyed with this program. It happens so randomly with the random word switches... actually it will often just put a single letter when I try to swype a simple word like "was" all I will get is the "w" so I end up with a sentence like "I w at the store" even though I clearly swyped the entire word. and just as I hit send, I will watch "store" change to "stairs".
it's the most annoying thing ever. I'm done with this ****, but I'm so used to "swyping" I need a better alternative... actually I just need the original program back.

does anyone know where to find it!?
please help.

I just finished Santa Clarita Diet, and while I'm on the subject of raising the dead....

Guess Who's Back!!!!

contractual obligation to see a theater screen release?
Disney feels they may actually have something here with a few edit room cuts?
secret reshoots happened that the actors were NDA'd from talking about, and now everything is fine?

who is morbidly curious enough to watch this in the theater? or do we feel a Hulu/D+ release 1 week after theater release is in the cards (assuming it doesn't mysteriously make money in the theater out of nowhere.)?

I was very interested in this when I thought it was a straight horror movie.
Unfortunately, that's not supposedly the movie that was shot (due to Fox Exec meddling), so I wonder if they either fixed it to be what they presented it to be, or if they plan to just release it as is and said "**** it".

1246
Not sure if I mentioned it before, but Kamala is being casted and should also start filming soon.

and I also forgot the mention the relevance of Moon Knight filing at Pinewood UK is that they will be close enough to Egypt to maybe film on Location

Majority of 2020 is gonna be light on MCU action, burt come 2021 till Infinity..... we gon be eatin' good.

edit: oh, and this is one that takes me by surprise....
supposedly a New Trailer for ...~*New Mutants*~... drops Jan 06, 2020
Movie hits theaters April 3rd...

Well shame on me... I guess Lebron's groin was aggravated, and is now injured as of yesterday...

1248
How about some MCU updates!?

Apparently What If is confirmed for a 2nd season.
- Last I remember, it was getting a "What If" for each of the first 23 movies. So I'm not sure if they are splitting that between 2 seasons, or what (...or when) the 2nd season would be exactly.

Moon Knight is filming in Pinewood Studios UK, and word has it that Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) may have a "titular" role in the show (I'm taking that he may be Moon Knight)

Falcon and the Winter Soldier is gonna have some BIG moments

Loki is in Pre-Production, so that should start filming soon.

New look at Black Widow coming January 13th - I guess Marvel aired a commercial during College football a week or so ago announcing it.

Doctor Strange 2 will not be a straight horror movie - will have horror elements and horror scenes.
Also Feige says there will be a surprising debut in the movie.

They took to long to do the obvious thing and fold Marvel TV under Marvel Studios, as I guess they were waiting for the rollout of D+to make the transition.

But had they just pulled the trigger silently 1yr prior, D+ could've been launch windowing with a few MCU related properties to carry us to fall of 2020.

Can we get some One Shots at the very least!?
The nostalgia trip is nice, but I need more new content that interest me asap!!

Solid ending to Mandolorian, now everyone cancel Disney+ for the next year.

But I pre-paid for 3 years...... only to find out Verizon would've paid for my first year anyway.
in the long run.... I suppose it would've cost the nearly the same anyway. but now I feel so confused.

I need new MCU content on D+ NOW.
