McDonald's does have healthy kids meals now and a healthy adult meal (which includes bottled water and a pedometer). I am not defending McDonalds, and I think both Burger King and Wendy's have much better tasting food, but they are not as bad as they used to be. The Whopper from McDonald's and the Triple Classic from Wendy's are MUCH better than the Big Mac from McDonald's (and I still don't get why McDonald's puts so much lettuce on the Big Mac, the little box is basically filled with lettuce overflowing from it).

TalkBack / Re: This Week in Nintendo Downloads
« on: June 15, 2009, 04:27:38 PM »
It's only been 4 1/2 hours (meaning not many people have downloaded it yet), I would wait a little longer to see what more people think. It looks like a really fun game from videos.

Startos is correct. Last year Nintendo and McDonald's announced a deal where select McDonald's in the Tokyo area would offer free Wi-Fi for the DS. Last month they announced that this deal was expanding to include every McDonald's in Japan.

After a little Google search, it looks like the other guy is Eiko Harada. He is the president and vice-chairman of McDonald's Japan.

What the hell is Iwata holding? Obviously not a real sandwich, at least one McDonald's serves in the US (it's about 3X or 4X bigger than their biggest sandwich).

No DSiWare games this week? At least they make up for it with 3 WiiWare games. We also finally get another Virtual Console Arcade game. Eduardo the Samurai Toaster looks pretty cool.

Same here, Wendy and those stupid rings were the most annoying part of Super Mario Bros. 3 for me. I hated it in the NES version, I hated it in the Super Mario All-Stars version, and I hated it in the GBA version.

I don't recall any of the SMW versions other than the one that would climb up on the ceiling and jump down (all while the walls slowly move inward) and the one that would pop up in the pipes while fireballs flew around.

The demo of Super Stardust HD is pretty fun, but I have to disagree with LittleBigPlanet. It's not terrible, but I did not think it was that good (and definitely not Game of the Year like some people said it was).

Speaking of records, I was pissed when they changed Brawl records to only records human actions. Melee counted KO's and Falls from computer opponents, but Brawl only count actions done by human players.

This thread has gotten really off topic, maybe it should get back to Futurama.

Um, the DSi has no virtual console type thing...

It will, it will, just give it time.

Even if it does though it will never include DS games on the service.

Chozo Ghost, the DS is region free and the game is in English (well, British English). It's a little difficult for the average person, but anybody who wants to play the game can.

I've been intrigued for awhile on this game. I just saw a the debut trailer of it on GameTrailers and it looks pretty fun and worth $8. I hope it does pretty well.

Miyamoto is right, too often a publisher will release a bad game just to get it out there (especially with movie tie-in games that have to be out in time for the movies release). Miyamoto has said that a delayed game is eventually good but a bad game will always be bad (or something like that).

3 Big Budget High Profile HD bombs in a row.

I assume you mean "Terminator Salvation" and "Wanted: Weapons of Destruction"? Do we know how those did?

GRIN will probably get relegate back to doing PC ports of console games (there previous two retail games were the PC ports of the GRAW games).

So far for tomorrow we have "Eduardo the Samurai Toaster" for WiiWare confirmed. Also confirmed for sometime this month is the TurboGrafx-CD game "SimEarth" for the Virtual Console. That means either tomorrow or the week after. As for DSiWare, I think one of the 3 Art Style games PAL regions have that we don't (Decode, Nemrem, Kubos) could also be out tomorrow.

Team Ninja's obsession with asses and big breasts (not that it's a bad thing) was because of Tomonobu Itagaki. Without him I don't see Team Ninja being focused on them with Samus.

I didn't like Mario vs. Donkey Kong: March of the Minis, so it's really a shame if this is basically more of the same.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: Official Wii Sales Thread

The problem even as a archive is that it's not reliable. We don't always get the final sales numbers for a game, so they still make those up. They only make corrections when sales information is leaked.

9945
With Wii Sports Resort and Red Steel 2 both being bundled with the game automatically, and 2 other games having a bundle option (Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 here in America, both Tiger Woods and Grand Slam Tennis in Europe) plus it being available separately, I think plenty of people would have it before the next Zelda releases (probably Holiday 2010). If Nintendo was really worried they could just make a bundle available.

9946
I think we are past the days when a game would get most of its sales in the first month. I think Nintendo realizes now that not everyone wants a game as soon as it comes out and may want to get it later. There is also word of mouth with people hearing about a game from other people playing it, and new owners of a system. Somebody just getting a Wii now might want to get Mario Kart Wii, I think this is especially evident with handheld games like New Super Mario Bros. (which managed to be in the top 10 games for 2008 even though it came out back in May 2005).

This was mentioned in the CAGcast podcast, does anybody else think it is stupid to navigate the Dashboard using Natal? Based on the E3 press conference, it seems like it would be faster just to use the controller. It seems kind of gimmicky and the novelty would wear off after awhile.

The Conduit looks good and I might get it when I have the money, but the lifelong Ghostbusters fan in me had to vote for what is considered by Dan Akroyd to be Ghostbusters 3.

The only possible way I could ever support legalizing it (which I would fight against if they ever tried to do it) is if they did the same thing they do with tobacco and put extremely high taxes on it. The negatives to this drug far outweight the minor positives (when it comes to consumption).

Wii sales are slowing, and demand could be increased by adding value to the package again.
How would you do that?
Price Cut!! - not likely
New Bundle!! - more likely

Instead of a price drop down to $199 they could just include a WiiSports Resort and keep the $250 price point.
Now all new users have M+ and all developers can develop for it without fear of supporting a peripheral without enough market penetration.
It will become a sort of Wii standard.

The nunchuck isn't required in a lot of games.

Also, of that list of N64 games only 4 required it for gameplay reasons. The rest it was purely aesthetic and you can't even tell or confirm that it did anything to improve some of those games.

Quote from: Wikipedia
Only a few games, such as Rare's Donkey Kong 64, the single player mode of Rare's Perfect Dark, the multiplayer mode of Blizzard's Starcraft 64 and Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask required it for play.

Thanks for supporting my point with facts.

No, your point was that only 4 N64 games used the Expansion Pack. I showed you were wrong. As of right now only 2 games will require WMP (Wii Sports Resort and Red Steel 2). I don't see Nintendo bundling it with the Wii unless a decent amount of games start requiring it.

Video games sales in general are decreasing, not just the Wii. The Wii is also stil easily outselling the competition with the current model. The only thing I can see Nintendo doing this year is bringing that black Wii over to us.
