It's certainly possible. PC Gamer has been around since 1993 and have never given a game a perfect score, Game Revolution since 1996 and also no perfect scores. GameSpot has only given out 4 perfect scores.

Are you sure you aren't thinking Ninja Spirit got 10 from 1 reviewer? A game does not count as having a perfect score if only some of its reviewers give it a 10 (i.e if 2 reviewers give a game a 10 and another gives it a 9, the game does not have a perfect score).

my profile won't accept it for some reason

I think this is a site wide problem, I haven't seen any profiles with Wii FC/XBLA/PSN names and it won't let me add mine either.

I would have loved Super Star Solider in it, but since it's not:

GO CHO ANIKI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ninja Spirit did not get a perfect 10 from EGM. Only 14 games have gotten that honor:

Metal Gear Solid
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Soulcalibur
Gran Turismo 2
The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2
Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec
Halo: Combat Evolved
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
Metroid Prime
Halo 2
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
BioShock

TalkBack / Re: REVIEWS: Rock Band Track Pack Classic Rock

Fail for none of the following:

Styx
Dire Straits
Pink Floyd

others

This is just a collection of songs that have been released as DLC, and Dire Straits and Pink Floyd don't have any DLC and Styx just got some a few weeks ago, after this game was made.

Your comment confuses me.  There is or there isn't Dire Straits/Pink Floyd stuff available for Rock Band?

Seemed clear to me. He said that these "Track Packs" are just collections of DLC already released for the games. Since Dire Straits and Pink Floyd have not had any DLC for Rock Band/Rock Band 2, that means they wouldn't be on these track packs.

1GB cartridges (if they could have been made that big) would have been WAY too expensive. 64MB cartridges were about $20, 1GB  ones probably would have cost well over $100 for consumers.

A minor point, 64MB is slightly more than 1/10 of a CD (which holds 600MB max).

Agreed on it sucking that the Fire Suit was limited in Super Mario Galaxy. I think I know why they did it though, you could pretty much kill every enemy with it. I think we can agree though that none of us would be too upset if they kept that crappy Spring Suit out, I think that it the worst powersuit in the Mario series. It's also worthless and it's very difficult to control Mario when he has it. I also liked the Bee Suit, which gets a lot of bashing for some reason.

The GameTrailers review was also very positive (even saying that the Wii version, despite not having graphics as good as the HD systems versions, is actually the best version of the game). I am not a fan of golf, real life or video games, but as a Wii owner I am very happy that Wii MotionPlus has been implemented so well.

Wait, Hal... FINAL entry in the Ratchet and Clank series?

The series is ending?

Ratchet & Clank Future series, the same way that Metroid Prime 3: Corruption was the end of the Metroid Prime series. Of coarse I haven't seen any mention that this will be the last Ratchet & Clank Future game.

I don't know what shelf space looks like in the UK, I can only go by sales numbers and the Xbox 360 (and its games) usually do outsell the PS3 over there.

I am pretty interested in Batman: Arkham Asylum. It's pretty annoying though that Eidos Interactive is making The Joker playable only in the PlayStation 3 version of the game, I want to play the game with the vastly superior Xbox 360 controller.

The Xbox 360 pretty much is crushing the PS3 in the UK (not so much in the rest of Europe though).

TalkBack / Re: Help Feature Confirmed for New Super Mario Bros. Wii
« on: June 20, 2009, 10:40:07 AM »
As long as it's not mandatory why does anyone care how other people play the game when it doesn't affect them at all?

Because it's a GAME. You should not watch a GAME unless you are spectating a multiplayer match or something. If you watch a GAME it then ceases to be a GAME and becomes a MOVIE.

But it's nobody's buisness if someone else wants to use it or not. I think anybody bitching about a OPTIONAL feature that won't affect them should STFU. If anything this type of feature will get more people to buy a game since they know they can get help on a section they would normally get stuck on and then quit playing.

Don't forget that Final Fantasy XIII is on Xbox 360 too (except for Japan, where the game will remain PS3-exclusive).

Game publishers are publicly and loudly blasting Sony, and just today Activision Blizzard has said they are seriously considering ending their support for the PS3 and PSP if the install base continues to be so low. If Sony loses the biggest third party in the world, you can be sure that others will follow in dropping support. I would say that the likelihood of the PlayStation 3 overtaking the Xbox 360 is extremely low (the Xbox 360 continues to increase its lead every month). Outside of a couple of titles, the PS3 has very few exclusives worth buying coming out. It's hard to convince the average person to buy a PS3 if most of the titles they want are on a much cheaper system. I can't think of any PS3-exclusive games coming out that I want, not to mention that I think the Xbox 360 controller is much better (and I know many people agree with me) and is what will get me to get the Xbox 360 version of any multiplatform games. I don't see Sony being relevant at all this gen and think they will finish in distant third.

For anybody not wanting the ads, just get a adblocker. Firefox has a built in one. The only time I ever see banner ads now is when I check out the site at school.

If more major publishers like Electronic Arts and THQ threaten to pull support, Sony would have no choice but to cut the price. Nintendo has proven that they can sell systems purely on first party efforts (most people seemed to buy a GameCube for first party games), I don' think Sony could survive purely on their first party games (although they would do a better job than Microsoft since MS doesn't actually release that many first party games each year).

What surprised me is how much they paid in licensing fees. $500 million in 2008 to Sony? You have to wonder how much Sony is screwing up to be losing money why stuff like this happens, they got $500 million from Activision just for saying "Yes you can release games on our systems". If Activision is not selling enough games on the PS3 to justify the costs, I don't blame them for considering ending their support. I know that several other publishers are not happy with the lack of a PS3 pricecut and the low install base limiting their sales potential, Activision may not be the only publisher ending their support for the PS3.

General Gaming / Major publisher to stop supporting PS3?
« on: June 19, 2009, 12:10:23 PM »
Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick has said that if the PS3 continues to sell as poorly as it is right now, they might stop supporting the PS3 (and the PSP too).

This is not an analyst, the is the head of the largest third party publisher (they overtook EA last year) stating that they are seriously thinking about stopping support of Sony systems. The PS3 and PSP are already gonna finish last this gen, but could the loss of Activison Blizzard kill any chance of a comeback and further cement its last place status? We have seen in the past how losing third party support can kill a system (like when the N64 lost Square Soft and Namco, although Namco eventually started supporting it).

Here is the article: http://www.industrygamers.com/news/activision-ceo-we-might-have-to-stop-supporting-sony/#comments

Homebrew does indeed have a extracter and installer. I have used it many times for Animal Crossing: City Folk (there is a program that lets you change the layout of your town, add/remove any item/flower/tree, alter you money amount, etc. It's also the only practical way to restore the grass in your town.)

Let me recommend a good coop game for the PS3: Monster Madness: Grave Danger. It features improved controls over the 360 version and you can level up your weapons and characters.

I thought the Xbox 360 controls were fine TBH, and the Achievements give it another edge over the PS3 version. The only problem is no one plays it online anymore (and there are a couple of Achievements that require multiplayer).

I know some Virtual Console games have this problem, not just retail Wii games.
