They come free with the system (notice the Wii's with them are still $250), so it's not like you are paying extra for them. It is still odd though.

I would go with a squirt gun, and probably give it to my 2 year old nephew.

For those curious, Ogre Battle and Gradius ReBirth have already been released in North America. Pulsman has been released in Japan but not North America. This is the first release of Bit Boy and Brain Challenge. Mario Calculator and Mario Clock are just Apps, not games.

Marvelous is a niche developer, all of their games have low sales (same with publishers like SNK Playmore). We also all know that Suda's games be be nice from an artistic point of view, but none of them have been a success in terms of sales numbers (even on the PS2).

NSMBW comes out this fall, Super Mario Galaxy 2 late next year. NSMBW is probably gonna be their big title this fall, so I see them doing a lot of hype for it.

Damn it. Cho Aniki always comes close to winning.

What amazes me is that the Japanese are willing to pay so much for their games. It's not uncommon for their console games to cost over $60-70 and handheld games to cost almost $50. Wii Music was about $60 when it released

The only M rated game I have is Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition. To be fair though, I don't have a job and thus can't buy many video games anyways.

Michael attracted most of the attention to his kids himself. Covering your kids head in veils and stuff like that is odd and just caused more attention. Also, it seems odd that the kids have apparently never gotten haircuts (Prince Michael II has hair that goes like halfway down his back and looks like a girl, same with the hair for Prince Michael).

I hate you, I wish my account was glitched like that (although i'm sure they've fixed it by now or soon will, and you won't get anything you tried to redeem).

I wonder what (hopefully good but probobly cheap crappy) gift they will send the platinums....

They've been great to Japan with Club Nintendo giveaways. On year the big prize was a awesome Super Mario Galaxy deluxe soundtrack. Another year it was a new version of Balloon Fight starring Tingle.

A different colored Wii Remote would be pretty lame to me, though not the worst thing I could think of. Maybe the Super Mario Galaxy soundtrack Japan got last year, or 2000 free Nintendo Points.

I don't see how Sony could stop any company from releasing their PS1 games on ANY system. For one, we have already seen Castlevania: Symphony of the Night released on Xbox Live Arcade. Second, compilation packs (like Mega Man X Collection) have been released for non-Sony systems that contained PS1 games. Unless it is a game Sony legally has some control over currently, there is nothing Sony could do from stopping them being released on Virtual Console, Xbox Live Arcade, or other similar services. If Square Enix wanted to release Final Fantasy VIII on the Wii (I was gonna say Final Fantasy VII, but I don't know if Sony still has any control over it since they published the original version, although they don't own the IP), Sony couldn't do squat. The only issue is that Nintendo would need to come up with a different name for the system, maybe a "Other" category?

It wasn't bad on GameCube, but it was long enough to notice the difference between the two. I always got the Xbox version of multiplatform games for this reason (try Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. Every time you go from one island to the other you have to deal with a loading time of about 5 seconds with the PS2 version, the Xbox version was less than 1 second).

I think with the last tie it was decided by the staff which game would be discussed. I imagine the same would happen here, the staff would break the tie.

Microsoft had no choice but to use software emulation. By switching chip makers they couldn't use hardware emulation. I just wish they hadn't abandoned updating the BC list, I want to be able to play TimeSplitters 2 again. I don't want to have to get the GameCube version (which had longer loading times than the Xbox version).

Ah, I see...

Is 41% good for a game with such high expectations as this? It didn't even sell half of what it theoretically could have...

As BlacknMild said, it sold 41% of it's first shipment on its FIRST DAY. Not week, day (and a weekday on top of that). That is pretty damn good.

However, I don't see it selling anywhere near 360K on its first week as that would be close to 100%. If 155K is 41%, then that means they shipped 380K copies and I don't see the game being a virtual sellout (although I could see it getting around 300K).
Famitsu: Wii Sports Resort sells over 350k. The 3rd highest debut week for Wii.

1. Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Nintendo) - 816,198
2. Mario Kart Wii (Nintendo) - 608,147
3. Wii Sports Resort (Nintendo) - 353,827

It over 350k. ~90something% sell through. Virtual sellout? Close enough.

I did the numbers up above. Nintendo shipped about 380K copies, so selling 350K of those is pretty great (I would guess that most of the remaining 30K are in rural areas where not a lot of people buy games).

Don't forgot licensing. The Blu-ray Disc version of "Total Recall" is actually inferior to the DVD version since it lacks the audio commentary by the director and Arnold (since the distributor didn't want to pay Arnold another $100,000 like they had to in order to get him on the DVD commentary).

There are some odd decisions too. Fox has released seasons 1 and 3 of Prison Break on BD, but not season 2. Season 12 of South Park is $85 on BD (although walmart.com has it on sale for $46.86).

I guess Sony is not doing a good job of educating people on "Blu-ray Disc" (which is they say is the correct way to spell it, including the "Disc" part).

I like all of the extra features on Blu-ray Discs, but the real reason (not just lack of HDTV's in homes) I think most people are not adopting Blu-ray Disc yet is because they are over-priced. There is no valid reason for a new movie to be priced at $25 (yet alone $30 or even $40 like I have seen some movies on BD). The average consumer sees the DVD version at about $15 and the BD version at $30, which do you think they will buy? At least Disney has come up with a good idea by releasing all of their titles in a DVD/BD/Digital copy combo package.

Hell, by the end of 2007 the video game division of Sony had already lost all the profits they had made with the PS2. Sony as whole (meaning not just SCE, but also adding in the TV/camera/movie/etc. divisions) lost over $1 billion last quarter.

I doubt Brawl would win, I know I wouldn't vote for it again. The lag ruins all fun of playing it online.
