Fast Five was a really good movie to watch in theatres, so I will probably see this one too.

The new title is better than what the movie had been known as until recently (Fast Six).

Speaking of Gearbox Software, Aliens: Colonial Marines is getting SLAMMED by reviews. The Xbox 360 version has a 50 average on Metacritic (1 positive review from EGM, 17 mixed reviews, 9 negative), PlayStation 3 has a 46 average (0 positive reviews, 4 mixed, 6 negative), PC has a 44 average (1 positive, 8 mixed, 11 negative).

You mean my system? It's the same one I always listen to. I checked again and it restarts at about 5:58. I just tried listening to it on my iPod Touch and it happens there too.

I have a Dell Inspiron N7010, Windows 7.

How many of those live users are like me and don't pay for Gold? I'm a member, but I don't use any of the entertainment features because I don't want to pay to use netflix or amazon or anything. I just feel like that 46 million number may not be telling the story Microsoft wants it to.

Not sure the current number, but in December 2010 Microsoft said 50% of Xbox Live members had Gold subscriptions. At the time there were 25 million Live members, meaning about 12.5 million people were Gold subscribers.

Real answer: Gunpei Yokoi. Super Metriod is a masterpiece.

Gunpei Yokoi had nothing to do with Super Metriod.  Yokoi was busy working on the Virtual Boy at the time, so Makoto Kanoh was the producer overlooking that games development, which Sakamoto directed.  I know people love Yokoi and he does deserve a lot of that praise, but Super Metriod isn't one of them.

Yokoi was still General Manager on the game. How much involvement that meant is debatable, but he did still work on the game.

expensive online play.

Since when is $5 a month "expensive"? Even less if you find Xbox Live cards at a discount.

The prices for Rayman 3D and Tom Clancy are HILARIOUS.

If you pay $29.99 for those games you're an idiot. They're $10 retail.

Amazon has Rayman for $24, GameStop has it for $20, Best Buy only has used copies online (at $18), Toys R Us has it for $30, FYE (which has always been a rip-off for games) still has it for $40. Where do you see it for $10?

happyastoria is right in a way, Persona 4 Golden is just a enhanced port of a 5 year old PS2 game. It would be like 3DS getting a port of something like De Blob and bragging that is a great "exclusive" game.

brood, even if you like Persona 4, it was a enhanced PORT of a FOUR YEAR OLD GAME. And that is one of the few big name games the PS Vita has. Kind of pathetic when one of the biggest games the system has was a 4 year old port of a PS2 game.

Kotaku has a good reputation for being reliable.

Also, DaE is the person who sold a Durango devkit on eBay and is the one responsible for posting the Orbis and Durango devkit specs that many people think are real.

shingi, do you work for Microsoft? You are always shilling for them. Either you work for them or you are a MS fanboy (which is fine, but it's excessive).

New rumors say that not only will Kinect be much improved in the Xbox 3, but also that it will be shipped with the system and be REQUIRED for the system to even function.

I heard in passing that Birds and Beans is in a WarioWare game, what's the story behind this?

http://www.giantbomb.com/bird-beans/61-24925/

Essentially it's an expanded port of the Pyoro and Pyoro 2 mini-games from WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$.

Have no interest in Birds & Beans after the reviews it got when DSiWare launched and I already own Paper Mario on VC. I might pick up Kirby, and Metal Torrent is alright but I am not a big fan of shoot em ups.

According to the online manual (http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/downloads/wiiu_operations_manual_en.pdf), Nintendo says you should call them rather than return your system to the retailer. Every Nintendo system I have owned says the same thing in the physical manual. So that right there indicates that he should have not returned it since Nintendo told him ahead of time not to (he chose to not read the manual, so it's his fault). Specifically, page 53 of the manual says

"If your Wii U system still does not operate correctly after trying the troubleshooting steps, DO
NOT return the console to the store. You may lose saved game data, Nintendo eShop downloads, and any balance left in your Nintendo eShop account. For assistance and additional
troubleshooting and repair options visit support.nintendo.com, or call 1-800-255-3700."

Yeah, every person I have ever seen or talked to would call the company up first. Like if I started to have a problem with my laptop, I would first call Dell, not take it back to Best Buy. You call the manufacturer, they might be able to help you solve the problem or tell you what you should do.

I don't have a Wii U yet (financial reasons), but I would be shocked if the manuals don't mention that games are tied to the system.

You still have to download those games, which is what I said. They don't just appear on your system without downloading them like you are saying should happen.

And I have used the Wii Shop many times before, it's not as bad as you are saying (and it's not easy to accidentally cancel your download).

azeke, you said $50 is not enough. So you did say they should give him more money. And how do you propose they just give him all his games at once? They can't magically make all the games appear on his hard drive. They gave him the best solution possible, giving him credit for all his games so he can re-download them. The same thing would happen on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 (having to re-download games). The only way for the games to magically appear on his system without needing to download them (like you want) would be to send the system to Nintendo and try to have them do it. But it would still be faster to download them manually.

Which has nothing to do with universal accounts, which you were bitching about in your last post. I do sympathize with him, but I am amazed you are more angry than he is. And you bitch that Nintendo should have game him more FREE credit for his mistake. They were not obligated to give him anything, but they were nice enough to give him $50 extra in free credit.

Speaking of PM, these are the new Club Nintendo reward games (all good until March 10):

Paper Mario (Wii Virtual Console): 200 coins
Kirby Super Star (Wii Virtual Console): 150 coins
Birds & Beans (DSiWare on 3DS): 100 coins
Metal Torrent (DSiWare on 3DS): 150 coins

He's a moron for not calling Nintendo. A normal person calls the manufacturer of a device when it breaks down. That is the first thing you do.

Jon is the moron, at least he is smarter than you though in that he is happy with the solution Nintendo did. They credited his account with the money AND they gave him a extra $50 free. Even with a universal account, his game saves would have been lost anyways.

The commons sense thing (and the thing that any normal person would have done) was call Nintendo first, it's the idiots own fault.

And azeke, Nintendo was being more than generous by giving him a free $50 credit. They didn't need to do that, and he is basically getting rewarded for being a moron.

Yes. I think the GameCube sequel is better, but the N64 game is still really good.
