Surely there has to be more than a couple people out there who can still have fun without having to defend their choice of hardware and software?

well eggman, maybe not now, but I promise that gaming will soon come to what it was once, the content and value of gameplay, not graphics, maybe nintendos new triumphant return?

Well what else could they have been working on?

I personally find that naming your kid after some kind of character is generally pretty cheesy and somewhat corny.
I mean, imagine your kid named Buzz Lightyear, Evil Knievel, Goofy or Lara Croft, thats just totally gaye.
Its ok though if you name your dog something like that, actually thats what the thread should be called, would you name your pet after a Nintendo character.

You know its really one of the hardest things to convince someone of buying a GCN, atleast the mainstream gamer which is almost everyone. And most of my friends arent hardcore gamers, which is good, because the ones I know are all super dorks.

Btw, posting the entire interview here is a big no-no.  You should have just linked us.  What you are doing is bandwidth theft.

But thank you very much for showing us this.  The interview was fantastic.

its wrong allright, but still no bandwitdth theft

anyways, great Interview, very insightful, and really helps understand nintendos philosophy and gain new confidence in their business ethic. But still no info about Too Human, its really killing me

If you name your kid after a Nintendo character, especially one like Kirby or Pikachu, it will get beat up every day.

Right, musta mixed up a couple dates.
Shiat, one more month of painful waiting.

While I am sure that the GCN is capable of what most of you say and also somewhat on par with Xbox, I still
find this debate rather sad. Its a sad reflection of what gaming has become.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:FF:CC... Best GC RPG?
« on: July 27, 2003, 05:07:09 AM »
it really seems that FF:CC is a big dissapointment judging by impressions and japanese reviews so far
i dont think ill buy it

On the other Hand im very excited about Tales of Phantasia, love the looks and the fact that is realtime action. It also must be huge because it uses 2Discs.

I want the GCN to have the best games(already does but could use more), and some more 3rd party exclusives(of high calibre)

so basically the same as before with different game mechanics

213
Yeah, your right. Sorry.

Anyways, October isnt that far away, and it seems that this is going to be one of the cubes biggest games of 2003, certainly my most wanted game after the release of F-Zero and Soul Calibur.

Nintendo Gaming / New article on Nintendo´s future! Must-read!!!
« on: July 05, 2003, 04:30:25 AM »
Come on you people, dont bash the hell out of that article. It contained many true points, and seeing it in that perspective the situation is quite alarming for Nintendo.

BUT, whats important is that pretty much all of the aspects criticized are presumably being tackled by Nintendo right now, which you see in their more aggressive aims for GCN2.

So both of you those that agree or dont with the author, just dont take it so seriously.

Its gotta be good because Nintendo decided to aquire them. Just like they did with Silicon Knights who were doing good with Eternal Darkness.

I wouldnt count on a MGS3 port for a long while, but thats life. Not all great games go on one plattform.

It just occured to me that this game has been in development longer than Duke Nukem forever.

No thankyou. Id rather see more games like Pikmin, Animal Crossing, Super Monkey Ball and Viewtiful Joe.

still doesnt mean they cant cater more to the mainstream
why not those games you listed, and a couple others, shooters, action games, the stuff the mainstream wants

those are big numbers, but I too can see it coming

TOO HUMAN ROCKS

I hope MGS:TT ends up looking much better than MGS2, and even MGS3, it is after all on a more poweful plattform.

Nintendo Gaming / Too Human?
« on: July 01, 2003, 12:45:05 AM »
I agree with gamefreak, maybe its more than just business decisions to push the games back to GCN2.
For instance, screens

remember Denis saying the graphics of Too Human looked as good as the FMV? Do you think such graphics are actually possible on the GCN? I dont think any system so far, not even the PC could have such graphics, those graphics certainly exceed those of Half Life 2 IMO.
So what Im trying to say is that some games may not be able to be fully forfilled in the visual department on GCN, hence the delay to GCN2.
Im sure well also be seeing realistic Zeldas on GCN 2, because there wont be any graphical boundaries anymore.
