Nintendo Gaming / RE:Whoa! Ouch...A little harsh there Chris...
« on: March 08, 2007, 12:50:37 PM »
Well I have no problem with how powerful or weak the Wii is, the only important part about a videogame console is the games on it since games sell hardware. Anyways the whole AI debacle sure the processor is important to keep up with calculations and what not but whats the point  of a good processor if the team throws a ho hum AI logic that could tarnish the end product.

As for Dead Rising the zombie AI is dumb during the day cycle and more vicious once they "wake up at night" but don't get me wrong its a fun game but the save system in Dead Rising is one of the most frustrating ever made.

I wonder if that EA ass hat is eating his words about nintendo not being artistic and having such a crippled machine. And this game looks just amazing a GOTY material.

Well it would really depend if the publisher wants a worldwide server or a regional server(s) for a game. If the game has a world wide server it would connect to that world wide server, if the server is regional then lets put it this way a US-NTSC game will connect to the US server, a JPN-NTSC would connect to the JPN server and the PAL with the PAL servers and so on. It would really depend on the set up the programmers implement.

Well even if no body except japan likes pachinko this is interesting because the 3rd party restrictions are pure BS.

3655
Sega Sammy's Jissen Pachinko/Pachislot Hisshouhou! Sammy's Collection Hokuto no Ken Wii is the first announced 3rd party title to support it well in Japan so I suppose we can call BS on that 3rd party restriction on Miis and Wifi connection.

And heres the evidence:
[ <---- Ahh the Shiny blue Wifi logo isn't bound to the console emblem boundary anymore
<--- Awesome Mii usage right there

Spectrobes is a DS exclusive and I don't go to EB/GS unless they have a good deal which is rare. But I usually go to a indy gamestore called toys and gameland. I bought Crackdown from them 5 days prior to the release date since they get games from a seperate distributor and they don't need to abide by corporate rules.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Nunchuk faulty?
« on: March 06, 2007, 03:56:13 PM »
Well if anyone is interested Thats how a Nunchuk looks like when its opened up. Notice how the analog stick we see on the outside is just a half sphere with a neck and a flat surface on the top for our thumb, notice on the small circuit board a square assembly with a white stick, thats the "real" analog stick that actually does something. And since analog sticks that we see outside are half spheres you can actually pull them up a little but I don't recommend that you do, thats why you can press down on analog sticks whether or not they are "buttons".

By pushing to you mean pushing down like the L3 and R3 on the PS line controllers or the analog click on the Xbox/360 controllers. Or by pushing the analog stick to the end of the boundary octagon (nintendo line) or the circle for PS/Xbox line.  If its the latter then no problem since take any analog controller and notice carefully how the controller "clicks" or the analog neck hits the circular/octagonal boundary. If by pushing down as if you would press a button then its just normal analog stick wear and tear.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Wii Third Party Domination
« on: March 01, 2007, 05:19:56 AM »
Well Ian what you view as significant and what others think are significant are two whole levels. I think Nintendo is purposely pulling back to let 3rd parties shine and let the Wii to be geared to everybody which was something Nintendo wanted to do with the Gamecube but ultimately failed. If Nintendo went the hard ass route again I don't think we would get games such as Godfather, Scarface, Driver:Parallel Lanes,Mortal Kombat on the Wii those are popular franchises to teens and 20 somethings and while they may be "old" games they get a second chance with a brand new audience.

Also its always inevitable if some of those games end up being crappy hell even Nintendo publishes some games that are considered to be mediocre or poor so I think people are being hard asses about that. And in my opinion the dought spots on Wii are little to none since the third parties and the virtual console content are keeping everybody busy. And the gaps between Nintendo games aren't that severe.

Heatseeker also looks pretty fun.

General Gaming / RE:Windows Vista: Why?
« on: February 22, 2007, 03:55:05 AM »
I agree with Spak because Apple will never have 3 things that Microsoft has always had since Win95 and that will stand true because of 2 reasons, 1. Windows is the de facto commercial OS since any computer manufacture can use it if they wanted to and Apple OSes are limited well to Apple. 2. The Windows has more support than Apple and Linux since Apple OSes are just for who own Apple computers and Linux while is free it doesnt have a lot of developer and mainstream consumer support. 3. Machines that support windows are arguably much cheaper since Apple has no competition to machines that has their platform built in.

Also I lost respect in Apple with their platform smear campaign which got old fast.  And all they can be cocky about is in the digital music space since they dominate that.

Paragraphs and punctuation should be your two best friends. Anyways you do have to understand not all customer service is perfect you would learn this if/whenever you work at a retail chain. Also since your said that you guys did have a long drive people might of picked some up during your drive there. Also dont ever rely on just one store especially for something like a DSlite or a Wii always have backups.

Maybe the PS2 couldn't handle the LoD (lots of ducks) technology .

Phil Harrison announced today his killer app for the PS3 download service...... SUPER RUB-O-DUB featuring a technology exclusive to the PS3 that the Wii and 360 will never have!! That technology is LoD or Lots of Ducks. the player will use the SIXAXIS controller to tilt a rubber duck around a pool of water, collecting smaller ducks to lead to the level exit.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Official Wii Sales Thread
« on: February 09, 2007, 05:50:05 PM »
Well I bought Marvel as on the games at launch and its a solid fun title. I don't care if this lacks online (if I cared I would of gotten it for my 360 instead. My only problem with the game is that sometimes the game doesn't register your motion correctly and you end up doing a different move. And like everyone people will bitch at the idiot player slowing them down due to the center single camera also another thing that isn't fun is when people fight over control of the camera by tilting the nunchuk.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Manhunt 2 from Rockstar? Whoa...
« on: February 06, 2007, 01:28:13 PM »
Well Ian is happy that the image on the console will have a more mature one. And if things go like they are now the Wii is a well balanced system for any demographic where people won't bitch that there is a lack of something since they are satisfied by the games available on the console. And that my friends is a good thing. And it looks like the kiddy image on the Wii right now is small to nil where the system would be called kiddy is by the immature/misinformed or blind Sony and/or Microsoft fanboys.

Plus Sony and Microsoft probobly wont even allow 2d fighters on their systems since both companies are obsessed with showing off their realistic HD graphics.

Street Fighter Hyper Fighting 2 on Xbox Live Arcade wants to have a word with you :P. If 2D fighters come out on those systems it will probably be on xbox live arcade or the playstation store.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Gamefly lists Guilty Gear XX Access Core for Wii
« on: February 04, 2007, 04:11:00 AM »
Yeah I agree with you KDR anyways I wonder if they are going with the fighting genre on the Wii, giving you an option of 3 different controlers (remote + chuck), Gamecube, Classic controller. And maybe with the remote and chuck combo they can help out those people who are bad with guilty gear's incredibly long combo list.
