General Chat / What was your first exposure to gaming?

Well actually my first exposure to gaming was with the Sega Mega Drive and Sonic 2. It was the only game i had for like 2 years but i didnt need any other games, i loved sonic 2 so much, then i got Sonic 1, 3 and Sonic and Knuckles. I was a sonic fanboy until i got my hands on a Gameboy The first time i got REALLY addicted to a game was only about 4 years ago with Pokemon Yellow, i played my friends gameboy all the time until finally at christmas i got my own Gameboy and Pokemon Blue. Then i saw a commercial for Pokemon Stadium on tv, and i was drooling at the mouth, i just sat there amazed for like an hour. The next day i got a N64 with Pokemon Stadium and thanks to Pokemon making me become a Nintendo fan, i have been able to enjoy the likes of Ocarina of Time, Goldeneye and Super Mario 64. If it wasn't for Pokemon i wouldnt be a gamer, and i probably would only have a PSX2 and Grand theft auto.

Hmmm.... maybe they're waiting until E3 to announce it.. well heres my speculation about Metal Gear Solid GC...

I recall Kojima mentioning he wanted to eventually do an MGS prequel that would probably take place around WWII. Maybe thats the GC game that's in development? Metal Gear Solid Zero?

It's been rumored for a very long time that Metal Gear Solid 1 was being remade for the Nintendo GameCube. Well, with one of the rumours being that the game will be titled "Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes", and Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance being ported to the Xbox and PC but not GC, i think the Gamecube Metal Gear Solid game will be a remake of both Metal Gear Solid AND Metal Gear Solid 2. Metal Gear Solid 1 and 2 in the same package, Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes.

Miyamoto may only be involved because he's implementing the GBA-GC link features.

OH MY GOD! The exact same thing happened to me when i was playing Timesplitters 2 on my Cube. I was playing the Chicago level, i was outside in the rain, heading towards those stairs and the game just froze on me, but i could still hear the music.

Anyway, Ive finished Metroid Prime twice, i live in Australia, i have a PAL GC, i have PAL Metroid Prime, and it's never frozen once. In fact, its the most flawless game ive ever played! Now im off to beat it for a third time with my brand spankin new Wavebird! Metroid Prime is the best game evah!

Infernal Monkey you lucky bastard, have fun playing on the big tv. You should invite some people around and have like a game party or something... like with SSBM, timesplitters 2, and erm... other games *shrugs shoulders* But dont play Eternal Darkness whatever you do, you'll be so scared you wont be able to move for two weeks, what with all the stereo sound and big tv and all. Once i hooked up ED to the big screen with surround sound and that was the first time i experienced the bathroom scene, i was like *SPOILERS* hey look, theres a bath tub, i wondered if there was anything in it, i approached it and pressed b..... then like.... I GOT THE SH!T SCARED OUTTA ME! I swear i nearly had a heart attack, i couldnt sleep for a week. But it wasnt just that part that was scary, overall the game is just creepy, the sounds, the monsters, like after i finished it, everywhere i went i kept looking behind me all the time, you guys know what im talking about?

I cant believe Metroid Prime crashed on you. I just finished it for the second time and i havent had any hiccups... And yeah, it feels good seeing all those Metroid Prime commercials, i see like 5 every day It sold 4000 copies in its first week btw, which is ok, but Pokemon sold 17000 But i think Metroid will have good staying power, and obviously Pokemon too. Anyway, i got a SP today!!!!!!! WEEEEEE, its like the.... second best thing evah! Metroid Prime of course being the best The light is awesome, i love it!

Oh, and one last thing, My platinum SP > Piac's blueberry makeup kit.

It was awesome. You beat that Bowser dude, then you get the Mario painting. Prof E Gadd restores the Mario painting and Mario comes out of the machine, a tear comes out of Luigi's eye and then he starts laughing at Mario because hes all dizzy. The end credits roll, featuring the BEST VIDEOGAME MUSIC I HAVE EVER HEARD! And THEN you see the picture of the house and some other stuff that i forget right now. I love it!

Bloodworth, is there something about Silicon Knights you're not telling us I agree with you that Nintendo's image problem cant change overnight, but it is possible, maybe a low chance, but anything is possible. Goldeneye is a good example. I think if Nintendo can get at least one game as popular as Goldeneye or GTA3, it would show a significant difference in sales. Nintendo sometimes just comes out of nowhere with some of thier games, like Pokemon and Goldeneye. C'mon, who thought they were gonna be as successful as they were before they were released, certainly not me. I cant wait to see how Silicon Knight's next project turns out, Eternal Darkness was brilliant.
