Nintendo Gaming / GTA cubed
« on: May 20, 2003, 04:41:57 PM »
Personally, I would not buy either game.  GTA annoys me by its very existance.

But the MusyX tools include MP3 support I am pretty sure.  I can't imagine the audio taking up THAT much space.

Nintendo Gaming / the most disheartening crap i have read.....ever
« on: May 20, 2003, 04:39:29 PM »
I just got an answer from Capcom about an email I sent them when I read this.

Original email:
Quote

I just read on The Magic Box that Capcom is going to favor Xbox and PS2 consoles in the future, above GameCube.  Might I inquire why that is?  GameCube sales were the only ones that met expectations, and we didn't get nearly as many games as the PS2 in the last year.  It just doesn't make good business sense to me to cut support to the gamers who appreciate your work the most.  Is this a misquote?

Many of my fellow GameCube owners feel sort of shafted by this news, as we have bought your games, and love them to death, and now we get repaid for our patronage by not recieving as many games on our system of choice.

Any enlightenment as to the reasoning behind this, or simply a note saying that the news was in error would be appreciated.

Hello,

Thank you for contacting Capcom.  In regards to your inquiry, if you
take a look at the titles we've announced at E3, you can see how this is
not true.  We have many great titles that are currently in production
for this console as well as the other consoles.  We will be sure to let
you and all our avid fans know of any new developments as they arise.
You should continue to monitor our website at www.capcom.com for the
latest information regarding Capcom news.

Best Wishes,

Ooooh....  I like the new Quick Reply box...  Is this a Mozilla specific feature?  I was just here on IE, and the quick reply box wasn't like this.  Anyways, I am testing this again, but with the Firebird browser instead.

(This time I am using the quick reply box, because the new one is so cool.  )

Yeah, I guess like every year, IGN has proved beyond all shadow of doubt that they hire freaking retards.  Well done.

I have searched far and wide for it, and it seems that IGN is the only site that has it at the moment.  I still haven't QUITE given up on Capcom posting it on their website though.

It wasn't shown at E3.  It seemed to have been pulled from the lineup at the last minute from what I gather.  Maybe they weren't able to produce a demo before the deadline.

I said ONE of the voices.    Remember that Xel'lotath had a multiple personality disorder.

Mei Ling is a Chinese girl who talks with a pretty thick accent, and is the person who you call in order to save your game.  From time to time she will offer some really useful information.  You never see her real model in the game, as she appears in sprite form on your codec, but in the VR missions, you get to go on a special "photography" mission with her.  It's total fan service, but I love it.

Her voice actor is also on of the voices of Xel'lotath.

But yes, she's hot.    And you see her a lot.

Personally I would like to see an internet connection for the GBA.  It would make trading Pokemon SO much easier.    Can you imagine trading Pokemon over IRC?    Hell, even a telephone connection would be good.

Yeah, I know that you don't want to see it again, but since other people were complaining that they couldn't see it because of a shoddy-made Quicktime plugin, I figured I would throw a direct link in that they could right click and save as.

Ok, fair enough.  I am the single person on this forum who can't use the auto-parse URL feature.

Great post, I think that should be the ideal mind of the gamer everywhere.  No one should care about sales sides the developers and publishers.

But that's just it, bigger userbase means more 3rd party support. I don't know about you, but I hated it when I knew that only the PS2 gets a Transformer G1 game. It's just not fair

Is there anything wrong with OUR 3rd party support?  We get an exclusive Final Fantasy, an exclusive Metal Gear, 3 exclusive Resident Evils, Killer7, pretty much every Sonic game ever made, an exclusive Phantasy Star Online, an exclusive Tales game, an exclusive Harvest Moon, and to top it all off, we get all kinds of 1st party support that other consoles simply don't get.

There's nothing wrong with our 3rd party support.  Yes it does suck that we don't get PTO4, Shinobi, Silent Hill 3, Metal Gear Solid 3, Dragon Quest VIII, or my beloved Xenosaga *sniff*, but look around you.  We get more than compensated for it.

Oh man... this just keeps getting funnier and funnier.  He actually got a New York Times article about his embarassment.  LMFAO!!!!  I would REALLY hate to be this guy, but damn is he ever funny.  He will forever be an example of why you shouldn't let things like this get out.

Anakin, the second movie was bad, but it wasn't THAT bad.    If it got too much for you, you could always turn it off.

I'm happy with my Geforece 4 Ti 4400 and won't really care about new cards until I can't run everything smoothly at 1024x768. Of course now I run everything at 1280x1024 minimum...

Anyway, TNT2 owned Voodoo Yes Voodoos were the best, only until TNT's and to a bigger extent TNT2's came around. And by the time the GeForce 256 hit Voodoo's were all but crap.

Yes, the TNT2 cards would beat the crap out of the Voodoo2 cards.  I guess that's what happens when the TNT2 comes out a year after the Voodoo2.    It was the TNT that went head to head with the Voodoo2, and got its butt handed to it speedwise.  The only real problem with the Voodoo 2 was that it wouldn't do 2D graphics.  Of course that's its real selling point these days, as we don't want the hassle of switching cables every time we want to use it.

The Voodoo3 was the TNT2's direct competitor, and they were about evenly matched for the most part.  The Voodoo3's glide support was what really made it the superior card though.  For appropriately programmed games, it would be millions of times better than the TNT2.

The Voodoo5 of course is still a primo card.  There is no question that it was a far superior card to the GeForce 256.  Ebay sells Voodoo5 6000s from time to time.  They usually sell for more than $2000 USD.

But as for the TNT2 beating out the Voodoo2... I find something interesting.  We all know that a GeForce3 is faster than a TNT2 right?  I am getting BETTER performance out of my Voodoo2 in some cases than out of my GeForce3.

General Gaming / PC Console?

I have never hated the Xbox more than I do right now.

2523
So what scenes are you guys looking forward to seeing in the remake?

I would have said the scene in the hallway... but that's been covered in the trailer.

I must say that one of my favorite scenes in the game is the scene where Sniper Wolf dies though.  That scene was simply PERFECT.  I really hope that Silicon Knights does that scene justice...  I must have watched that part of the game a good 50X on my PC.

Of course I am looking forward to the new Mei Ling model too though.

2524
Well, I agree with you Biohazard.  I generally avoid these types of threads because I think they are stupid and pointless.  Who really cares how many people own GameCubes?  The point is that we do own one, and most hardcore gamers own one.  We get good games, and it really doesn't matter how popular the console is in the mainstream.  Nintendo still loves us, and we still have a great console that is making a profit for Nintendo.
