Damn that was cool...  The footage was all sort of blended making it hard to tell what game was which, but they all looked cool.    The new MGS cutscene looks like it ROCKS though.

Nintendo did that first with the GB Camera.  You were supposed to be able to put your face on the characters in Perfect Dark, but it was causing the game to crash, so it was cut at the last minute.

Ogre Battle and Tactics Ogre were ported to PSX though, so I doubt that Nintendo owns the rights to the franchise.  It's more likely that Nintendo just published the games.

rpglover, are you my other personality?  I have often wondered about that.    I could just be sitting here talking to myself, but whatever.

I haven't been able to play either Ogre Battle 64 or Tactics Ogre Advance yet.  I sampled both, but I have never had the chance to buy them yet.  I am going to have to get rooked buying them on ebay at some point I am sure.

No problem.    I'm glad that you don't have to use either IE or Netscape, as both of them are seriously lacking.

if you asked What is FPS?, then I would give you both definitions.

If you said that you usually ran 60 FPS's usually, I would ignore the horrible grammar, and assume that you were running at 60 FPS, as running 60 FPS games at once just doesn't make sense.

As for I-Ninja, I think it looks great

Namco is making up for shunning us in the N64 days.    Namco recently made up with Nintendo at long last after a long and bitter feud, and it seems that they are VERY good friends now.  Namco is even one of the developers of the Triforce (GameCube arcade hardware).

Well, Quest has historically supported Nintendo systems quite heavily.  Every Ogre Battle game they have made has been on a Nintendo system, so I am hoping that trend will continue with future Ogre Battle games.

I must mention though that after Tactics Ogre Advance, they were bought by Square, and they are now making Final Fantasy XII, so it will probably be a while before they can make another Ogre Battle game.

Until Denis says 2004, I am going to assume it's still on for Christmas.

Hemmorrhoid, the story of MGS1 is excellent.  If you like James Bond movies, then expect to see a story on par with the older James Bond movies.  (or maybe Goldeneye, my personal favorite, and IMO the only good new one).

The characters are ALL very well done and excellent.  MGS2 is high on my most hated games list, and MGS is quite high on my list of favorite games.

lol... 3 months to learn Hiragana... your teacher does seem quite cool.

My teacher gave us Monday and Tuesday to learn 21 characters, Wednesday and Thursday to learn the next 21, and Thursday and Friday to learn the last of them.  We had the weekend to review, and a test on Monday.  After that, there was no more english characters in the classroom except for english words.

At what time did I ever say I didn't like FF7?  I said that it was the game at which Final Fantasy ceased to be.  I said that it didn't have the level of quality as previous Final Fantasies.  I NEVER said I didn't like it.

Gup, Ms. Pikmin is right.  People here have listed several games which I like very much, but I have never even challenged anyone for not liking the games that I like.  You will find that most hardcore gamers who have been playing games since the NES era will hate the newer Final Fantasies.  If you can't tolerate that opinion, then you should really learn to relax.  I objected to your arguments because your logic said that because we don't like newer Final Fantasies, then we must be blind, biased fanboys.

To answer your question though, I just find newer Final Fantasies to be very uninspired and mediocre.  That's why I don't like them.  I consider IX to be one of the worst RPGs I have ever played.  You named Parasite Eve as one of your most hated games, and I listed it as one of the best.  I did not flip out at you when you said that you hated it.

Now can we please drop the argument?

Hiragana = Simplified form of Kanji.  With Hiragana, you can spell any Japanese word, and the character set only has 47 characters, making it very easy to use and learn.  It lacks the preciseness and meaning of kanji however, meaning that you must learn kanji in addition to hiragana, but hiragana will your crutch on the way there.

Katakana is a way of spelling foreign words that are integrated into Japanese language.  For example, a computer is called a konpyuutaa in Japan.  Katakana is easier for the Japanese to spell and read, thus it's used in place of the roman alphabet.  It will result in HUGELY different pronunciations though.

Gup, In case you hadn't figured it out, we love Final Fantasy Tactics, which was a PSX game.  I list Xenogears as being my favorite RPG.  Take your snide little comments elsewhere.  Have you ever thought that people might just not like the newer Final Fantasies because they suck?

I am right shocked that Mario won.  I doubt he can take Sephiroth, but we shall see.  I hope the pansy goes down though.  Sephiroth is just a little too femmy for my tastes.  I could really care less about Alucard, but I voted for him just to vote AGAINST Sephiroth.

Well, if I am talking about how many FPS I get in an FPS, then I am assuming that you know what I am talking about.

And... thanks.  I really don't know what else to say.

Well actually Castle Wolfenstein was the first FPS, so blame it not doom

Actually, there was at last one FPS before that. The one that first comes to mind was an EGA wonder which escapes me at the moment. i can't even remember the developer, but they were big back in the DOS gaming days. Could be Apogee... must Google it.

I believe that would be Blake Stone.  I have a copy of that game somewhere I believe.  I realize that Doom was not the first, but Doom was the flagship FPS game.  It also created the idolization of graphics that I so hate.  It didn't really change much from Wolfenstein 3D, save a different environment and better graphics.  It was with this game that iD started selling their engines to make lots and lots of clones just like Doom.  A smart business move, but eventually killed the PC gaming world in my eyes.  It just irritates me that there are never more than 2 genres existing on PC at once.

RPGLover, you sound a hell of a lot like me.    I too am hoping for a revival of Final Fantasy with XII.  Since Quest is making it, I hope they can relive the magic of FFT

Heh.  I am glad that you enjoy the games.  PC RPGs aren't really my thing, but it sounds like you are having fun.  Your computer might actually be able to run some newer games now too.

I really don't know if MS is dropping Mac support.  I don't have, use, or want a Mac, so they could cease to exist entirely for all I care.

Try this however.  You might like it a little more.  It's not being updated for Macs anymore, but it SHOULD be better than that horrid IE thing.
