TalkBack / RE: New Spyro Game in Stores
« on: October 22, 2006, 05:14:33 PM »
Just so you know, the game is developed behind the folks behind Ty the Tasmanian Tiger, and as one who owns both, they're not terrible, and the newest Spyro game seems to focus on combat more than platforming, which...is probably a bad thing.

Theres even a reference to I believe Metal Gear Solid 3, when you run along the first gem thing that you can smash up. I wont spoil what exactly happens, and I'm probably wrong, but eh.

Also to note, theres not going to be any real collecting in the game, its straight-up point A to B platforming and smashing. The gems are only there for health, flame breath and leveling up moves.

They should work on bringing the first one to other places before they go nuts about making a second one.

I mean, I want to play it, still!

Super Mario RPG
and Mischief makers!

Please?

I've noticed the MvsDK 2 demo looks an awful lot like the E3 version. It features a map mode, a more elaborate scoring system, and heart pick-ups that dont seem to do much of anything but double coins.

TalkBack / RE: REVIEWS: Pac-Man World Rally
« on: October 03, 2006, 07:19:42 PM »
The actual Pac-Man game is unique on its own, tagging Pac-Man in this racing game is just a downright insult, and an obvious cash-in for Namco. Think about it (Although I'm sure this point has been made already) they should've concentrated on trying to differentiate the game from Mario Kart in order to garner any kind of success, or even a unique game more people would've cared about. Pac-Man is about eating dots. Hes not supposed to butt-stomp, spin dash, punch, kick, uppercut or get attacked by Dig Dug characters. But these western developers apparently think this is the future for Pac-Man; to copy other, more successful mascots in order to break the ice of what games come out of Namco these days.

No Time Splitters Future Perfect? I mean, yeah its more of the same, but the controls are so much better. I'm not even sure why, I guess the aiming was a little funky in #2.

The Mortal Kombat one is most likely going to be the arcade version, via Digital Eclipse's arcade emulator for the Midway Arcade Treasures line.

I fear the fact that these games are priced "Lower than regular Wii software"

Either it means $19.99 budgeted purchases, or regular Wii games are $59.99

TalkBack / RE: E3 Scales Down
« on: July 31, 2006, 07:28:50 PM »
Looking at all the stuff they do for those E3 booths, you'd think they should've just used all those setups for a fun park or something. I mean, prize giveaways? Statues? Booth babes? I'd say its a good thing they're shrinking it down. You'd think they're attracting the wrong kind of people...

To me, Timesplitters 3 (Future Perfect) had better controls than the second one.

Anyway, seemed obvious with Haze, but the Time Splitter series might do well under the Wii or something...

If the system indeed launches in October, it'd probably hit my city, Houston, well after the fact...

Unless they show demos of some games that wont be releasing of the time, Smash Bros. Brawl is a possibility...

So is anyone able to answer some of the questions thats stuck on NSMB now?

Is there 2 player cooperative at all? Simeltaneous? Alternating?
Play as Luigi, a code? A switch?
Race mode, is it gone? Collect the stars the only 2 player mode?

Time Splitters Future Perfect

Featuring some key members from Goldeneye, robust multiplayer options, cooperative gameplay, and humorous dialogue.

Screw any other FPS title suggested in this thread (Cept for Metal Arms and RE4) this is an awesome title.

I gotta say, I have some hopes for Super Monkey Ball Adventure, the Jungle level looks kinda blah-zae, but the Moonhaven level? That looks something thats out of Nights, and fits the wacky Monkey Ball world design pretty well. Plus Travelers Tales has had a decent track record lately, what with Crash Twinsanity and Lego Star Wars.

One note of interest is that the game is made by the people behind Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee

That alone should give this title some light...
