If they ever make a sequel to this, I hope they ramp up the bosses.

Especially Ghastly King:

For such a stylistic game, its disappointing the last bosses arent as hard as they should be...

Yet PS2 owners get PSX classic games, at least in Japan, while we get this crap again?

I was right, Namco hates our money.

Another Code is coming to the US? I mean, it sounds interesting.

I gotta try out Pac-Pix someday soon, but I really wish people wouldnt knock on Ridge Racer DS. I enjoyed it, I just wish I could find people who didnt suck at playing games in general.

Okay, its close by, just a few miles, but you get what I mean.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Is the GameCube Dead?
« on: April 17, 2005, 01:21:20 AM »
I picked up an XBox in March, unaware of the Gamecube drought in April.  But just so you know. Outside of Doom 3, Dead to Rights and maybe Unreal Championship 2, there really isnt anything worth noting, not to mention other than Doom 3, I doubt the others will sell very well.

Its just not a very good time for new games to come out, I guess.

Although my neck of the woods didnt see any of these at Game Crazy, I was wondering if we really did get it. Whats the box like? Is it on eBay? and other sorts of questions...

DBZ Budokai 3 is definatley planned for the GCN, I looked through a Game Crazy release list before, and I made sure to tell the difference.

Though I cant remember the exact date posted on it, its either much later this year, or next year.

Point is, its definatley coming.

Guess Capcom finally realized that porting to others systems does not mean better sales.

Its even more ironic the DS is getting the new game, whereas the PSP just gets a console port.

Handhelds wont be very unique if all it gets are PS2 ports.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Rayman DS makes me want to cry

But theres a second delay when you use the D-Pad for like...no reason.

also, I want to know why the X and Y buttons wont turn the camera. You have to hold the X Button and tilt the 'stick' left and right (Or the D-Pad) to turn it. The Y button is to go in 1st person mode.

Thats what REALLY pisses me off.

Nintendo Gaming / Rayman DS makes me want to cry
« on: March 27, 2005, 04:53:01 AM »
Ugh, man, I cannot believe this game would make me get tired of going through Rayman 2. Probably since its been on every system imaginable.

See, the thing is, its not the port thats terrible. Its decent. Framerate is tolerable, the touch screen controls feel a little better than Mario 64's, and its a port of the N64 version, so while it doesnt have the extra flaura and fauna of the Dreamcast version, its still got a decent version based off of.

But as a DS title, its a complete disappointment, early press releases hinted at a multiplayer mode which is nowhere to be found. The levels are dark, which should teach developers of a thing called brightness control. Not to mention, theres no reason to get it unless you have never picked up Rayman 2, which is foolish if you STILL havent played it. But then again, some of the sequences of Rayman 2 are rather tiresome, and the DS version just makes them even more boring for some reason.

Not to mention theres no real point to the bottom screen, as my thumb is always covering up the neccesary information I need to read. Its so useless that you can turn on/off the brightness for either screen sepratley.

No touch screen mini games
No maps
The bottom screen is a waste, a disappointing start for Rayman.
Rayman Advance feels like a much better port.

GCN Exclusive: Pac-Man VS. =P

Seriously, this might be a fun rental. PMW2 was good fun, cept for a few nacks like how hard it was to aim for the pellets when going on a one way level etc. etc.

Still a fun romp though.

I still think its not a bad idea, I mean, the whole Conker fiasco is a prime example, its just dfferent to compare the two since Sonic has been around longer, and is pictured as a kid's video game hero.

I think its good for Shadow to turn into such a rebel, if they just fixed up the model, gave him a more agressive expression, and shrunk Shadow's gun, it wouldnt look as ridiculous as many have depicted.

Thats PS2 hardware for you, but oh well.

TalkBack / RE: Development of Rayman DS Complete
« on: March 01, 2005, 05:50:22 PM »
I'm not too sure if its directly based on Rayman 2, the GBC version that is, but I've got a strong feeling.

Why dont they just bring Razorbeard back to the consoles? They tried it with Rayman 3 GBA by mincing him with the Hoodlums and it just didnt work...

Oh yeah, dont forget the Rayman GBA game that comes out alongside Rayman DS, which is based on the Spyro GBA engine (Or so I heard)
