Nintendo Gaming / RE: Details on Mega Man X Collection
« on: June 10, 2005, 06:21:32 AM »
I'd definatley reccomend Anniversary Collection to anyone. Yes, the sound is borked, controls dont have the usual A/B setup, and the main menu is lame looking. But its still got quite a nice effort. You're getting the 8 main games and 7 still has the secret 2 player mini game, along with the secret tune for Shade Man. Mega Man 1-6 have the helper hints from the PSX Collection (Which is why it has the improper looping music) The control setup I feel, though it could've helped if it had the standard A/B setup, it doesnt mean the game is impossible to play. Just have the tip of your thumb over the B button, that way you can go over all of the buttons on the GCN controller. Its not uncomfty, and helps you have access to all the 'cheater' buttons like rapid firing and sliding.

I noticed Capcom released MMAC with a slight change in the cover, is the actual game itself changed any?

Could you PGC staff members put in the good word? It'd be nice if it were unlockable or something...

They're using the PC version of Sonic R, which had changable weather and 4 player modes. Sonic Championship is apparently re-coded to work on the Gamecube.

If you notice on Sega's E3 website, they have a video for Gems Collection that show the title screens (Mostly footage of CD, no footage of R and title stuff from Championship and so forth) that theres Copyrights for 2005.

182
Yes, they should've skipped the Game Gear games, since we already got EVERY SINGLE ONE in Sonic Adventure DX.

183
Apparently the entire list is

Sonic CD
Sonic Championship
Sonic R
Six other Game Gear Games

I knew it was too good to be true...*Sniff*

Well, dont forget the fact that Sega has taken GCN exclusives away with shoddy PS2/XBox ports and the like, then turn around and give an exclusive Sonic complimation.

Challenge mode is hard, but not impossible. Yes you'll have to have mad drawing skills, you just gotta remember that if one color doesnt work, go with the other one.

Thats pretty much the difficulty I've had, the entire playfield doesnt have to be one color either.

Most of my time was spent on challenge mode, I've spent maybe an hour in Puzzle mode, with 3 hours on challenge. God, I love this gameI've spent way too many hours on it, more than I should, more than I have on any video game lately.

My Challange High Score

Rank - D-
Score - 170850
Total Lines - 231

Move in the opposite direction you want to jump, let go of that bongo, now hit the other bongo and hold it, then press and hold the other one.

Say if you wanted to jump left, and you stood still. Hit right twice, let go quickly, press and hold left, then press and hold right while he skids.

Pretty much, basically. What happens is the number doubles if you clap next to banannas. That way you can grab a group of banannas around you, and double the points. And performing certain actions like backflipping, wall jumping or manipulating some other items causes a combo, that way you can keep adding to your overall score, so long as you dont get hit once.

Oh, and I've (Barely) broke some records myself.

Melon Kingdom - 1483
Ghastly King - 1268

I'd watch out, Mario, I'm not so far off from you (Though I doubt anyone else is, either...)

Edit: If you beat Ghastly King, you'll see clips of some of the bigger combos pulled off. Especially about over 3000 on the first level of the Chilli Pepper Kingdom.
