Nintendo Gaming / RE: Help with sound please...
« on: January 14, 2005, 11:03:58 AM »
I've got a set of logitech Z-680's for my system and it sound's like yours is the same, it doesn't have the plugs.  You'll have to go to tandy (or whatever electronics store you have) and pick up an adapter.  It has the red and white female plugs into a male headphone jack plug (the plug is a 3.5 mm, the same a your discman plug).  Plug this into the green jack in the system and set to direct imput.  Then just press the effect button to scroll through the effects untill you get to PL2 Movie.

Now you might have a different system to mine but just follow those directions or the equivelant of and you should have PL2.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: N64 adapter for GC!?

Is there any real point to making a snes/nes adapter? nintendo is putting all the games on GBA.  Only a 64 adapter would make any sense.

Another question.  Does anyone have any suggestions for fighting team Captian Falcon on classic on very hard.  (team as in 10 captian falcons, not 2v2).  It is practically impossible to defeat them without a fluke.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: How do you catch nosepass and Feebass??
« on: August 10, 2004, 09:53:50 PM »
I actually meant finding it in the granite cave.  Is it on a certain level of the cave? do you have to do anything like break rocks or anything to make it appear more often??

With regards to feebass,  I heard that the dewford town saying has a bearing on the location of tiles that increase the chances of feebass appearing. Is this true??

I'm sorry if this has been asked before but would someone please give me some pointers on how to catch a nosepass and a feebass.  I realise that it is probably just luck of the draw as to what appears, but is there any little technique or something that can be done to make them slightly more common to appear?  Cheers.

Star wars episode III: Revenge of the Sith.  Nothing too flashy is it.  Still, sounds very intruiging.  What do you laides and gentleman think??  (Just my luck everyone knew this a week ago.)

Anyway, May 19 next year is the big day.  How many of you will be at the front door in a costume with bells on??

General Chat / RE: Metriod Movie
« on: July 27, 2004, 11:01:06 PM »
Well whatever Jerry is, they should get him on the metroid movie.  I think he would do a very acceptable job on it. Mind you he probably wouldn't be the cheapest of people to use.

Even if someone hadn't even heard of metroid, don't you think that seeing previews of a movie like that would arouse some curiosity at least.
That would probably give the general populous a good reason to see it.

Why doesn't Jerry Bruckheimer do it and add it to his rather long list of movies.  I think his movies are quite good.  That's just me though.

Make sure those big energy ball things he fires don't hit you.  Shoot them down for missile/energy recharge.  Very nice.  Also try to avoid the freeze beam he fires along the ground.  If you do get hit, get the hell out as soon as possible.  The tractor beam is also a pain although not to hard to get out of.  Just shoot him in the eyes.  I personally use super missiles when he turns orange (power beam).  They do a decent amount of damage and are homing.

If you're fighting the second half, get all the big energy refills scattered around the joint.  Don't collect more then you need though or you will just waste them.  Ignore the normal metroids for as long as possible.  Concentrate all your fire power on the prime.

Hope I helped.

Another Aussie present.  Never been to Hyper.  It also sounds like if it would be better for me if I didn't.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Let's Talk Controller
« on: June 02, 2004, 02:23:31 PM »
The only problem I can think of with that design is the risk of it breaking clean in half.  I know this could easily be avoided by simply taking care of the controller.  But what I've seen some people do with conrtollers is shocking.  EVen those that do take good care of them could accidently drop it and snap.  Especially if they would be as thin as you say. The price would also go up heaps.  I already pay $50 (aus) each for them.  Other then that it seems good.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Worms 3D :(
« on: May 26, 2004, 02:09:46 PM »
I bought it a couple of months ago. While not the most graphically stunning game ever produced it still is a ball of fun if everyone actually takes a few punts and uses ballistic weapons. (ie. bazooka, grenade, cluster bomb, etc).  That is my only complaint.  The whole new dimension makes it that much harder to aim and people therefore use homing weapons instead of having a go with unguided.

The fact that the secret weapons have to be unlocked also ticks me off a bit, but what can you do.  Other then that it can be a very entertaining game. ( in my opinion anyway)

Nintendo Gaming / Linking GBA's for trading pokemon
« on: May 16, 2004, 04:11:37 PM »
I've got a problem.  I'm trying to link 2 GBA SP's with gold and silver to trade and battle.  But the things won't link.  The one with the player 1 end of the cable says something like searching for other player, while the other end saves the game, looks and still doesn't find anything.  I don't think it's the cable because i have tried 2 different ones.  Is their a special method you have to follow.  I don't have the instruction booklets because i got them second hand.  Any help would be appreciated.  Cheers.

I'm from Queensland, Australia.  Townsville to be precise.  There's nothing terribly special here.  There is the strand I suppose but that is far from an international wonder.  I hear that it won the Australia's Cleanest Beach award.  Or something like that anyway.

You don't have to pay a lot to get a lot of gadgets.  My DVD cots less then $90 (aus) and it supports DTS, kodak photo etc. It's only one of the cheap brands but it does the job for me.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: If you were making a new Rogue Squadron...
« on: March 27, 2004, 03:08:13 PM »
I personally like the series.  I would also like to see the X-wing and A-wing mark-2 in the games as well.  I've seen the new X-wing and it looks sweet.  They should make a new one eventually shouldn't they??

Nintendo Gaming / If you were making a new Rogue Squadron...
« on: March 24, 2004, 01:39:11 PM »
What would you add or remove from the current  series?  I think it has been pretty evident that the ground missions would be the first to go.  If I were going to put suggestions forth, I would like to put  whole new set of abilities in.  If any of you have read any of the X-Wing series, you would notice that the pilots have the ability to use rudder pedals (cause the craft to rotate left or right).  Now I'm not suggesting that Nintendo make a set of rudder pedals for 1 game.  But somehow incorperate it into the next game.

The use of repulsor lifts would also be a good addition.  You could literally move straight up while still facing forwards. You can also bounce off cliffs if you are flying parrallel to them.

I know that there are supposedly shields in the previous 3 games but they aren't really there.  That gauge is more hull integrity than shield strength.  You should be able to shunt power from engines/lasers to shields and the like.  You should also be able to choose where to put your shield strength, ie, all power to rear shields while leaving your nose exposed.  If you've played freespace 1/2 you know what I mean.

Now I know that there is probably no chance that this could be done on the current controller.  But still I'm just dreaming here.  What would you do to change it??

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Mario Kart strategy & help thread

It happenned to me just recently.  I was sliding around a corner and I happened to run over a little bump. The shell went under me while I was in the air and exploded somewhere to my right. I was well clear of the blast radius.
