Sonic needs to be put out of his misery.  His design is grotesque.  Seems like we have Ace Ventura with a mo instead of Robotnik as the villain.  I will admit I've missed this kind of performance from Mr Carrey but I am still decided whether I could take the rest of the movie.

Also, why did they decide to go straight to world ending stakes?  Did we really need to have a world ending scenario in a Sonic movie of all things?

Having absolutely no nostalgia for the original games would help me not take this as an insult.  Might be a home viewing one day.

Not sure if this has been covered in any of those charts up there, but Endgame has now surpassed Avatar's total Box Office take in China.

3) I am curious about the Time Travel stuff.  So the splintered into a new Timeline and everything that happened, happened.  But does that mean the infinity stones exist in the new time line still?  Or are they gone forever, since they returned them to the original moments in time, and those moments must lead to the old time line?

Steve went back and put all the stones right back at the time they were taken so in the past all those alternate events in the past no longer occurred.

The one complaint I have about the "Avengers Assemble" call was the delivery.  I had been looking forward to that moment for many years and when it finally came it was just......limp.  He started off well with a good strong "Avengers...", then he came out with such a quiet, grumbly "assemble" that it ruined the whole moment.  It should have been a strong, authoritative captain's call to attention.

We now have a dignified, gentleman hulk. He transcends the need to smash things.

Just got back from my second viewing.

I missed this the first time, but Carol had her sash as well as her Captain Marvel haircut after the five year jump.  I'm so happy.  I was disappointed she didn't end up with it in her movie, but this is the next best thing.

That was awesome.  A truly worthy way of wrapping up the saga.  So many fan moments.  Several moments of applause throughout our showing.   I will agree the final battle wasn't as smooth as IW, but given they had heaps more characters to try and fit in I'll let it slide.  And the fan service was was absolutely amazing which more than made up for it.

I booked opening day off too.  No way in hell I'm working when Endgame opens.

To The End.

Hard to believe that this whole saga is wrapped up in a week.  What a time to be alive.

Movies & TV / Re: Star Wars IX The Rise of Skywalker

Teaser looks great to me.  I adored Force Awakens and I trust JJ to salvage something good from the dumpster fire that was Last Jedi.  Apparently they've also said that Star Wars movies are going on a break for a while after 9's release.  I think this is a great idea.  The wounds from the Last Jedi are still very much raw for many viewers and consequently there is a lot of distrust with the franchise now.  Solo showed that.

As for the Palpatine laugh. I reckon they might be drawing some inspiration from the EU story when Palpatine was cloned.   If they want to restore some in from the fanbase then incorporating some ideas from the old EU would be a good start.  This also adds some credibility to that rumour a while ago that they were casting Mara Jade for 9.  If Grand Admiral Thrawn turns up then I reckon all the sins of TLJ will be balanced.

165
Probably not, but dammit I hope so.  I'd love to see it dump on James Cameron.  I'm certainly no expert when it comes to this kind of stuff, but from what I understand Avatar did as well as it did because of a perfect storm of good luck and circumstance when it was released.

Having said that, if any movie can take the crown off Avatar then it'll be Endgame. And unlike Avatar, Marvel deserves it.  So much work has gone into this franchise, unlike Avatar which just leeched off a shiny new novelty tech for its appeal.

166
Hell no.  Not going anywhere near that.  Stop releasing stuff Feige.  There's no need.  The hype for this movie cannot be higher.  Your releasing of clips is not doing anything beneficial.

167
I honestly don't think anyone would care about the questions as to where he was and what he was doing.  They'd just be happy to see him turn up.

168
That's true, but it'd still be a great fan moment and a fun way of introducing the X-Men.

169
Though honestly, I kinda wish the series will be shelved for a year or 2...and then be introduced again later.

I think that's a very safe bet.  I'm expecting that all you'll see with X-Men is a single character (probably Wolverine) turning up in an existing movie.  That'll branch off into X-Men focused stuff.

Having said that, I would dearly love if Hugh Jackman brandished the claws one more time in Endgame.  He has always said he wanted to join the MCU, and this would be the perfect time to send him off and pass the mantle to a new actor.  It'd also be the perfect time to finally have him don the yellow and blue.  He's snuck into an X-Men movie before, I am confident he could do it again.    Imagine the roar of the audience if Hugh suddenly walked into frame and released the claws for the final confrontation.  "Need a hand bub?"

That Joker trailer looks completely uninteresting to me. I personally don't understand why this movie needs to exist. From a personal standpoint I think the Joker is completely over rated as a villain and certainly not worthy of his own movie. I'm just sick of him turning up as the main antagonist in most Batman stories but that's just me.

The main more objective reason I don't think this movie needs to exist is because the whole point of the Joker is the intrigue surrounding his existence and past. Yet it seems they're going to throw all that away.

I expect all the cinema chains have their server admins camping right beside their servers waiting for them all to melt down.

172
Tickets booked for 7.30pm on Wed 24th.

They don't seem to have any midnight showings scheduled, but if they do I'll be going for that too.

edit: Ok, I'm weak. I watched the trailer.... I don't think I held out even 10 minutes. LOL.
not really spoilery, I guess, but I didn't need to see it.

Nah it's fine.  But that handshake.......  Hype is off the charts.  We're finally going to get the "Avengers, Assemble!" call.  Hopefully followed by a shot like the first avengers classic circle shot complete with the music.  #nerdchills

I'm not normally a merch guy, but I feel it's obligatory to get an Endgame shirt for the first midnight showing.  Quite a special occasion.
