TalkBack / Re: Pine (Switch) Review
« on: November 26, 2019, 03:38:59 PM »
I backed Pine on Kickstarter back in April 2017, so I have been looking forward to it for a long time. I downloaded it yesterday and played it for about two hours. At the time, the day 1 patch had not been released.
I liked what I played, but I can very much see what the review means about things popping in while loading.
I only had one significant bug, which was camera control stopped working after I accidentally talked to an NPC while I had the map open.I like the game, so I really hope things get better with updates.

Also, one weird thing about the graphics, why arent there any shadows? I guess it was something cut while they tried to make it run on Switch, but I would like it added back in.

Im interested to see more about this game. I remember hearing about the 3DS game a few years ago. Its surprising news to hear about this new game.

Its nice to hear Syrenne so positive on New Super Luckys Tale. I played it on Xbox and thought it was good. I was already planning on getting the Switch version, but hearing how good the improvements are, Im looking forward to playing it even more.

I found out about Sweet Home a few years ago, it sounded very interesting. I watched an edited full play through of the game and thought it was great for such an old game.
I played a little bit of the fan translated port, but didnt get very far.

I recommend that John should just buy the Switch Lite. I feel the exact same way about the original Switch in that it is too big to comfortably use while travelling. I would also take my 3DS instead of the Switch.
I bought the Lite at launch hoping it would solve this, and it did. As mentioned on the show, it isnt much smaller, but it is small enough to feel much more comfortable. I like using it portably now.

I backed this on Kickstarter over two years ago. Im very happy I will finally be able to play it.
Originally, it was only going to be on PC, so being on Switch is just perfect.

It was interesting to hear Jonny talk about the Playdate. Im still very interested in getting a Playdate, even though it probably isnt quite worth the money.

TalkBack / Re: Nintendo Switch Lite hands-on
« on: September 07, 2019, 08:47:26 PM »
Im looking forward to getting the Lite. I find the normal Switch a bit too big to be used comfortably while travelling.
From what I can tell, they scaled it down to be the same size as a 3DS XL, except wider.
I wish they had replaced the sticks with circle pads. It would have made it thinner, plus remove the drift issue.

I just hope the save syncing works well enough for the games that support it.

I'm going to skip playing Crimson Shroud, it's really not the kind of RPG I like.
You should have picked the other Guild game, Liberation Maiden.

It will be interesting to have more 3DS retroactives in the future. I suggest Ever Oasis, it is an RPG that I liked very much.

James getting upset about Miitomo was the funniest thing I have heard on the show in a long time.

I miss Miitomo.

I bought it, but havent played it much yet. Its definitely a change from the previous two. Im playing on the easiest difficulty, so the bullet sponge aspect of the enemies isnt so bad.

This is great news, but I need to know a release date. If its more than a few weeks late, I will buy the Xbox version.

I really like NNR, so Im glad its not going away completely. Just keep posting it on the Patreon food, because thats where I listen to it.
