That laugh track sfx was a MASTERFUL piece of trolling. Although in Danny's defense Hyrule Warriors is a pretty good game.

How far would you go to save your son? You don't have a son.

There's no need to write down Mario Maker codes since you can access Miiverse from the browser on your phone and then put them straight into the game.

Don't know if it was already mentioned but Mario 3D World co-op is good for kids. I played it with a nephew and we played all the way through to the credits, presumably the first he'd ever beat.

You know what? Melia is underappreciated, she has the most character development and is the only character who has her back story fully explored. She also has the most fun move set.

Music Suggestion: Dragon Quest 4 DS Casino Theme

I found a deal on Persona 1, 2 and 3 portable on PSN so I'm going with them for the time being. I like Persona 1's battle system although it seems a lot more messy and less refined than SMT 4, the story on the other hand is utterly incomprehensible. It feels like I'm missing some exposition some where.

Spent the rest of my stars on the consoles and hanafuda themes, now there's a 1/4 chance that when ever I open my 3ds it'll greet me with the Now Playing music.

Blog post from the games composer Yoshiaki Fujisawa. The short of it all is that the composer was contacted in late 2013 about the project, like Sawano with Xenoblade it was his first work on a video game. While difficult at first he received help from the sound team at Atlus and eventually go into a groove producing many "groovy" tracks. Also Easter egg alert: one of the characters in the game was made in the image of the composer.

In terms of Shin Megami Tensei I blasted through 4 and fell in love with it, next I think I'll move onto the PS2 titles like SMT 3 or maybe Persona 4 since they are dirt dirt cheap on amazon.

In terms of Fire Emblem I have played through 7, 8 and Awakening. Awakening I liked a lot and is probably one of my favourite games period, 7 was enjoyable yet a little dated, but still easy to appreciate. 8 was more of the same with an overall disappointing story, although I will go back to it at some point for a second play through. Shadow Dragon is out on the eshop in Europe but I have no intention of playing that train wreck. Hopefully sometime soon Radiant Dawn is selected on the eshop dartboard.

I too am not a fan of 3's original art style but All-Stars pretty much fixes it for me. Didn't really find the levels especially short really, but I can see what you mean.

Makes sense to me, if they received strong feedback from play testers why would they ignore it? At that point may as well not test the game at all. Wasn't the complaint with the 25th anniversary that it was literally an emulation with nothing they had learnt in 25 years added to the package.

$$$ I imagine the relaunch of the game gave them an opportunity to rebalance the game to be more exploitive. Kinda like how the Wii was priced too low but once the price was set they couldn't retroactively go back and make it higher. Suffice to say I find these kind of games where there is a direct negative correlation between difficulty and how much you paid for it, that use refined psychological techniques to pressure you into spending more, to be the cancer of the industry. I don't see how it is morally ethical to take upwards of 80 quid per month for a casualised cookie cutter puzzle game. I suppose rumble world is a step in the right direction where as far as I know there are no gambling features and that there is a reasonable upper limit that you can hit and not have to pay anymore beyond that, but the future of Nintendo is still bleak as hell.

You can have one player on the TV and one on the game pad which is something Mario Kart 8 didn't even have. German engineering for you.

Resident Evil Revelations 2 Vita edition bombed unsurprisingly.

About 40 hours into Dragon Quest 8 on the ps2 and I can confidently say the game is a masterpiece. I can see why 7 wouldn't come to the West since it is a large scale remake, but for 8 all they would have to localise is the small amount of extra story content since the localisation they have already is amazing. Eh' Guv'.

While not necessarily a game, the Yokai Watch anime will be airing in the US on Disney XD on 5th October at 5pm ET/PT. To celebrate here's a nonsensical Japanese song localised into English. Got to hand it to them, never would have thought of rhyming Idaho with Gero Po (whatever the **** a Gera Po is).

Upon first viewing I initially thought the dance involved flipping the double bird however after closer inspection that is not the case.

SMB1 has only aged SLIGHTLY better than contemporaries like The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Kid Icarus, Ice Climber, etc. it is still by all technical means playable, but it does not feel good to play. It has never felt particularly good.
Please try to go back and play any one of those games you just listed, without the rose tinted goggles. You will find that Super Mario is light years ahead in terms of controls. ESPECIALLY ICE CLIMBERS.

Nintendo Gaming / Ace Attorney: Spirit of Justice
« on: September 21, 2015, 05:08:34 PM »
Hey it's our deity of justice: Apollo Justice.
Never played 4 but I hear it's the black sheep of the franchise, I went irregularly from Duel Destinies to Layton Vs Phoenix Wright to Edgeworth's Investigations to the first Ace Attorney to working my way through Justice For All. Gonna get round to it eventually.

Although from what I've played of Apollo's parts in Duel Destinies he's a total badass and I'm glad to see him back, I really liked Athena although I feel her story has already been told. New interesting characters should be a priority but if one extra character should return I would like it to be Gumshoe, he has a personality that makes it impossible to be mad at him and we need to see him in glorious 3D. The Ace Attorney series has some of the slickest 3D models around such that transitioning from the polygonal games back to the sprite based games didn't feel strange at all.

Huh, you're totally right the NSMB enemies are at 30fps, I knew they were off but I couldn't quite put my finger on it. Can't unsee it now.

Team No Yoishi's Left Behind, the cruelty has gone on long enough.

As for ending music suggestions, there can only be the Disaster Day of Crisis Main Theme. The music is actually pretty decent and sets the tone well for what the game is trying to be. Who knows one day it could come to virtual console, pre-order bonus for Xenoblade X.

Why? The only people I can see using this service are suckers that try buying the games for their pcs only to find out they don't work. If I wanted to trust someone with my credit card information it would be with Nintendo, not some random 3rd party vendor. Or you could even just buy the eshop cards with cash.

I supose a Xenoblade demo could work, something like Just Cause where your save file self destructs after like 30 minutes and if you want to go on you have to pay. The issue there is that it would be a very big download. Another way you could do it is release a free character creator before the game comes out like Saint's Row.

I would like to see Nintendo put all their marketing bandwidth behind  Xenoblade X for the holiday, give it the chance it deserves.

I think delaying Star Fox is the right decision although I question if they can really make any significant changes in such a short space of time, I think this is more to do with bugs then it is the design of the game.

I don't think that resembles the NX controller, It seems like it 's just a generic controller they slapped together that uses very simple geometry to get the point across. Patent illustrations are never exactly works of art and the Wii U gamepad is just very easy to draw compared to something like a pro controller.

I see this as a cool feature they could easily include in the next device without adding much to the cost, not every game would use it but it's an extra feature you can put on the box. It would integrate well with the next web browser, you could use it to zoom in and out with a camera, switch weapons quickly in a shooter and maybe even use it for Atari 2600 games for the virtual console.

Did no one play the Project Treasure beta?

Sairus get yourself an external HDD, but make sure you get one of these as well http://www.amazon.com/EZOPower-Micro-B-Cable-Computer-Laptop/dp/B00DDNXLFW
Basic Boyz for lyfe, you are going to need a hard drive if you want to download anything anyway so why not just get the basic?

Here's some footage of Segata Sanshiro performing his signature move, in a Nintendo game no less.

The show wouldn't be the same without Ty, although the second half of the last episode without JC was kinda awkward, like episode 76 of RFN awkward. It's the group dynamic that really makes it "pleasurable".

I adore Little Inferno and World of Goo although for this game it's not immediately obvious what the gameplay actually is, perhaps it'll be more fun going in blind.
