I like this idea so long as it isn't abused, it would have of fans putting their money where there mouth is instead of publishers deciding for us what will and won't sell.

Where does that second rumor come from? Is it like a NWR exclusive tip off or is there somewhere it originated from?

Just finished watching the livestream, it started with a little trailer...
It appears moon phases are back for this game, where a full moon will make demons more aggressive and less negotiable. There seems to be a bit where Navarre is following you with a green bar on the left side of the screen, not sure what this is, and at least some of it is set in Mikado since you can see the barracks place at 0:55.

After that they went on to show off some gameplay, they fight Medusa and show off some of the new mechanics like the partner system and how demons can get +1,+2,+3 ect skills. Light attacks aren't one hit kill moves anymore just doing regular damage, and smirk has been changed somewhat although to what extent I am unsure.

Also Siliconera has translated some of the details of the livestream, such as Isabeau will return in final and to stay tuned for news about Flynn.

Hyrule Warriors is published by Koei Tecmo (at least in Japan) and is a Koei Tecmo game. They do their own marketing and it is the reason you see a game like Legends at Tokyo Game Show, but a game like Genei Ibun Roku #FE is not since Nintendo is the publisher and they don't go to TGS, despite the game being developed by ATLUS who does go to TGS. If Hyrule Warriors is first party then by that same logic so is Professor Layton and Inazuma Eleven.

Hyrule Warriors is a 3rd party title that sold a million copies and was developed and published by Koei Tecmo at least in Japan, albeit with a borrowed IP. You could argue either way since 1st/3rd party is applied arbitrarily.

Don't know about you but I count 13 3rd party 3DS million sellers; Bravely Default, SF 4, Lego City, DQ 7, Yokai Watch 1, Yokai Watch 2, Yokai Watch 2-2, Yokai Watch Busters, Puzzle and Dragons, Monster Hunter 3U, Monster Hunter 4, Monster Hunter 4U, and Kingdom Hearts.

If the company is well known I have a feeling it's a Ubisoft game, perhaps Rayman or Prince of Persia. Only 2 questions left though.

The best sonic game. While this 3d remake sounds well done I can't justify buying the game yet again since I own plenty of copies of it across many different platforms including DS. I think the bad level design argument is overblown and doesn't apply as much to Sonic 2 as it does for 1,3 and CD. The only parts I can think of that are totally BS unfair is that spike pit in the Mystic Ruins and the final boss of the game where you don't get any rings. The ideal way to play the game though is with the knuckles expansion cart.

I think the story is that they still haven't gone through their initial product run on the Wii U.

Rouge Leader and Rebel Strike were published by LucasArts, let's not rule them out of the equation yet.

This is a completely different game than the first one, like say if the first game was Ocarina of Time this new game is like Majora's Mask. Shin Megami Tensei 4 is definitely worth playing and I think is on sale pretty much everywhere at the moment.

SMT 4 Spoliers Played through 4 and got the law ending, ideally I would have wanted to get the neutral ending (I'm so sorry Isabeau :'( ) but the way you get the neutral ending is so mindbogglingly stupid I didn't bother. I suspect Final takes place very close to the end of the events of SMT 4 but has a slower place, such that on the timeline both games end at around the same place, which would make sense since time moves slower in Tokyo than it does in Mikado. I remember very close to the end there is a quest you can do for some Mikado citizens where you escort a Navarre gone mad from the Kiccigiorgi Forest through Naraku to Cafe Florida where he can live in peace. I assume he died shortly thereafter and became a spooky scary ghost. From the artwork I recognize Noizumi, she was in a few quests and I quite liked her personality, she was practically the only person in the story I felt comfortable being around that wouldn't betray me at earliest possible opportunity. At the last quest in the quest line you save some fairies from a demon and encourage Noizumi to join the fairies and become the Queen of the fairies, I'm not sure if this will feed into the new game, maybe her ability will have something to do with fairies like healing or somethin', or it could be set before this happens.

Despite the neutrality BS I really liked the moral choices in the game, and that unlike Mass Effect where you are either a good guy or just a heartless bastard, in SMT 4 there was a bit more moral ambiguity with God's dictatorship or the freedom of Lucifer's chaos where anyone can become a God if they are strong enough, I tend to lean towards God if there is no neutral option but I know some people swear by chaos. The passage of ethics was an refreshing replacement for a dungeon boss. I went with allowing the abnormally tall person to compete in the competition, accepting the technology into the village and stay with my loved one for the rest of my life in the hope of their recovery.

I didn't get any of the dlc for the game because it didn't seem like a good value proposition but I would be willing to go back to it if someone could argue otherwise. If Final was just a compilation I may have still got it but what we have now is literally the best case scenario. Thing I'm most looking forward to is the music though, 4's soundtrack is phenomenal, far too many good tracks to list all of them but my favourite is the Underground Ikebukuro theme.

Two new trailers up on Nintendo's YouTube. The second one is a little more spoilery than the first although it's definitely more interesting.

Could a physical version of this game's packaging (if applicable) be placed inside a breadbox with exact dimensions that of a standard DVD case, ie 190mm x 135mm x 14mm?

Well would ya look at that, I was just talking about how good SMT 4 is and they go and announce a sequel.

I think the art style is what hurt Code Name Steam the most, probably would have sold 4x as much if they went with a cell shaded anime art style like Valkeria Chronicles instead of chasing the american comic book audience that doesn't exist and doesn't look good at such a low resolution. I appreciate the ambition though.

Corpse Party is already out on 3ds in Japan, haven't played it myself but I watched someone play it. Super spooky although not much of a visual novel.

Do you even dungeon crawling?
Well yes as a matter of fact I do because I've been playing Persona 1. Perhaps the black sheep of the franchise this 2009 remake of the 1996 PS1 game was a mere £4 on PSN a week ago. I'm nearing the very end of the first half of the game although I'm also nearing the end of my patience with it's final boss, more on that later.

Starting the game up you are greeted with a flashy opening sequence, this is one of the additions to the remake along with animated cutscenes, the other half of the game that was cut for the US release and a completely redone soundtrack.

The story follows a group of Japanese school kids in a non specific Japanese town, without spoiling it the story is absolutely nonsensical at least towards the beginning but it does get better with some genuine emotional moments. The cast all have distinct personalities and have a decent amount of characterisation. I think the biggest issue that makes it hard to connect with them is that they are all so nonchalant about the demonic apocalypse, the fact that demons are roaming the streets barely phases anyone as if this kind of thing happens often. In SMT 4 going to Tokyo for the first time hit me like a tonne of bricks, Tokyo under the firmament oozes atmosphere whereas Mikage just doesn't. Now the story contains two paths, you spend some time meeting all the characters then you are presented with a choice; you can either run away from school to bring down an evil corporation and save the world, or you can golden sun it and just politely turn down the offer, then after following a specific list of illogical instructions you unlock an alternate story that recycles very little from the main story. Like SMT 4 the margin for error to get the good ending is stupidly narrow so if you don't want the game to abruptly end 10 hours before the end with no explanation I suggest following a guide. You can only have 5 party members in the game however one of the character slots is not fixed, you can get a different 5th party member by declining the offer of the first guy who comes along to join your team. I think each party member has unique dialogue so that must of been a massive amount of work for something so obtuse to obtain.

The music is pretty good although unfitting at times. For some reason the games director is also the games composer which is perhaps a testament of how understaffed ATLUS are. My favourite track is the boss theme.

The battle system is typical SMT with a twist. You and the opposing demons are on an isometric grid with different attacks having different types of range. For example shotgun will be able to fire at multiple enemies in a cone, where magic will be able to reach anywhere on the opposing grid however magic will consume sp. There is no press turn in this game which is a system in SMT 4 that would basically allow you an extra go if you exploit a weakness, so less emphasis is put on exploiting these weaknesses, making the game less punishing and a bit easier if you don't know what you are doing, but if you do know what you are doing it is much harder. In SMT 4 the difficulty curve was completely backwards whereas in Persona the game starts easier but gets insanely difficult at the end. At the moment the game has given me an ultimate Persona to beat the game, oh wait, you can't equip that Persona until you are level 62 and you are level 44. I'm sorry what?! I really don't know if I can realistically finish this game at this point, guess I'm gonna have to go heavy on the podcasts and turn off my brain for a few hours to get up to level 62. Oh and on a side note amount the bosses give a hilariously large amount of exp, like if you don't skip it the ding-a-ling-a-ling of experience going up can last 10+ minutes.

Demon negotiation is done by choosing persuasion techniques presented by your party members, such as Dance or Sing. The demon will respond and that will move the needle on one of it's emotions on the matrix, once it reaches zero it will act on that emotion, sometimes acting on multiple emotions at the same time . There's happy, eager, sad and angry, if you want to recruit the demon you want to try to make it eager, sadness will make it flee, happiness will charm it and angry will provoke it.

You talk to the demons to get spell cards that you can fuse into Personas, these personas have completely different play styles since they will have skills that change up how you play (until you realise nuclear is overpowered). And there are loads of different skill types/weaknesses in this game: Sword, Lance, Axe, Fire, Ice, Rush, Tech, Wind, Death, Electric, Expel, Light, Dark, Gravity, Nerve, Occult, Curse, Whip, Thrown, Arrow, Fist, Gun and Blast. They seem to have scaled it back for SMT 4 where they have like 9.

Should you play Persona 1? Yes, with a walkthrough, and a playlist of podcasts for the end game. It's held my interest thus far but I wasn't as deeply infatuated with it as I was SMT 4.
