The Paralympics was fantastic, but shame on NBC for the shitty coverage.

It was on for 11 days. NBC showed only 4 one-hour specials.

The Possession - I normally don't watch horror movies but i quite enjoyed this. It was tense and nicely paced.

I was going to see Dredd, but the 2D showings are limited release while the 3D ones are normal release. Therefore i'm not going to watch it.

Doctor Who - No spoilers, but that budget seems to have gone into space.

Today i'm seeing The Possession. Will get back to you all on that.

Here one of the mobile/cell phone networks does something called Orange Wednesday. You need to text a number to get a code, but two people can go for the price of one (and get 2 for 1 at a Pizza Restaurant too). Because i have that unlimited card i count as the "paying" customer, the other person sees the movie for free.

So what usually happens is i get a massive rush of people usually asking if they can see a film with me because they won't pay.

They did so so at least 1/12 of the people the FBI is tracking could see if they were on the list. I wasn't on the list, but I could still be on one of the other 11 million UDIDs. I love how more people are pissed that hackers have some of them when the FBI had them in the first place. Fucking idiots.

Agreed.

Which brings me to my second question. Why were these on a laptop?

Is the problem really the laptop? People who work with information tend to carry it around that way.

For all intents yes it is the problem. A few years back sensitive government data was left on laptops and USB drives which was left on public transport across london. A few times.

How do you avoid these hacks/leakages happening in this fashion? Don't allow the data to leave the building.

By putting it on a portable device the risk of theft or unauthorised access simply increases. Even with encryption, you're still physically carrying the device that contains the data you want.

I'm not going to get into why they had it as thats not the primary issue for me. If they can't keep the data they do have secure by policy then that tends to worry me more.

Personally, i want to be given the choice. One is not better than the other, although forcing one for no particular reason can cause problems if not done right.

Options is good.

I remember having to shake the remote in Sonic and the Secret Rings so hard for Sonic to respond it gave me headaches. It remains unfinished.

DBG? What does that even refer to?

The backing music during Now Playing stopped for a few seconds.

I believe it was to allow the sultry tones of The Lindemann to take centre stage. I'm fine with that.
Indeed. Jon read that line really low but really weird and that was my attempt to keep that in while not amplifying his voice (which would have missed the point) and not have the music drown him out.

i thought it was a comedic pause because he was mumbling

Yes. The sultry man tones of Jon Lindemann. How could you think he was mumbling?

Looks like a movie I won't be paying money to see. Either way, it looks like a movie that will make you pay for watching it.

I watched bits and pieces of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. **** this movie is stupid, not Battleship stupid, but watching Ben Kingsley once again shame himself on screen is both pleasing and sad. $200000000 clearly dosn't go far in Hollywood. Not too sure where the money went. Forgettable drivel.

Did you notice how the "feel" and some of the set design between Prince of Persia and John Carter was very similar?

I haven't played Mafia in some time but it's good to see the influence of Mario Kart Mafia still going.

Total Recall - I need oohhboy to see this.

I won't spoil the film but i did enjoy:

1 -The film being set in London, yet they board a blatantly NYC Subway train with London Underground stickers on it. There's a reason why its called "the tube". We don't even have stations like that.
2 - The trip in "the fall" is announced to be 17 minutes, yet Hauser sets the bomb to 15. But it doesn't detonate BEFORE the journey is finished.
3 - A couple of scenes where clothes appear and disappear.

Hilarious. So glad i have my unlimited card, otherwise i'd want a refund.

The Bourne Legacy - Le sigh.

So, surprised no one else has mentioned seeing this yet. Finally took the plunge myself. Was excited when I saw the trailer since it seemed like the direction they seemed to show indicated that it had good potential to work as a follow-up. I've had my own ideas as to how I would have continued the franchise but the trailer looked like the film might be alright.

That said, I'd have to say the film was best summed up when, as I got up to leave during the credits, two girls walked by me and one said to the other, "Well, that was underwhelming." And I have to agree. And I even came in with guarded, lowered expectations.

As I walked out of the theatre, in my head, I was going through all the faults the film made and what the writers must have been thinking as making the script. They just seemed so clear when watching this and even more after it ended.

I'll get into them more in a little bit but as I type this a wave of sleepiness as hit me so I'm just going to call it a night.

I saw it last week but forgot to mention it. The film is ultimately a setup to make more.

That's all i can say.

I would say Andrew Stanton, as he directed WALL-E. But he followed up with John Carter. So i take that back.

He meant people from the UK. He hates them.

I hate them too, but I'm an Irishman. It comes with the territory.

Just as we do for France.

I saw season 1. It was alright.... I'm actually surprised it for a second season to be honest, but I mighty tune in if I don't have a full tv load at the time

It surprisingly did very well in the ratings, so S2 was guaranteed at that point.  It started off very weak and formulaic but they started layering stuff in by the middle and paid off really nicely.

It's one of the few shows this season that caught my eye.

I wonder what insanolord meant by YOU PEOPLE.

For the record. I am not a YOU PEOPLE.

I think I'm doing an alright job for an amateur, especially given the limited amount of time and energy I can afford to put into this. I mean, I started out by watching tutorials on youtube showing how to cut and paste in Audacity... A little bit of training from Greg helped me reach the next level, but I'm still an amateur, doing this in my free time. And freeing my time to do this.

Thanks for the feedback, however. I value it, it is important if I want to keep improving.

Greg is the Celine Dion of podcasting. Yes i said it.

Given you learned FROM HIM i have no concerns at all. Greg prefers to take the axe down a little sooner, but thats preference. I'm happy with things.

Sorry I cough sometimes. My old mic had a mute button (that I used judiciously!) but my rock band mic obviously doesn't.

I also have Cystic Fibrosis, so it's a hazard of the job.

And diabetes, as I just found out Monday. So THERE'S THAT TOO.

I know when it's you, but unless you're timing your coughing at EXACTLY THE SAME MOMENT as Neal speaks any word with a sharp outward breath every single time, then no. I will blame him with glee.

My only concern about Ouya is system updates. When it launches it will come with Ice Cream Sandwich. I'm already on Jelly Bean on my Galaxy Nexus.

As we've seen with nearly every Android device thats not Nexus branded it falls behind. In the case of HTC (and some phones they have made like in late 2010/2011), they won't get any updates at all.
