Quality is disappointing, but I'll be buying it on launch nonetheless because the GCN version still costs more and I refuse to get the Wii version

Nintendo Gaming / Re: Is 3DS Nintendo's best handheld?
« on: February 03, 2016, 09:44:16 AM »
The 3DS library has been rather lackluster for me for the past few years. I've owned like maybe close to 10 games on my 3DS and I don't see it crossing 15. For the most part it is a virtual console machine and a Zelda machine.

Still, it can play can DS, GBA, and GBC games (despite no GBA virtual console being present, it can still technically play it), it is by default the best.

Never heard of it. Will wait to see more on it before I consider it.

Edit: Turns out it is Etrian Odyssey esque. I am skeptical, but will wait and see if it turns out better.

It was before gaming became mainstream. Those were the days.

It brought Final Fantasy 12 into existence and that is probably my most played game out of that generation. Close to a thousand hours, if not more, invested in it and I still go back every once in a while a sink in a 100-200 hour playthrough.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: Is Wii U Nintendo's worst home console ever?

I hate the Wii. I love my Wii U. There is my answer.

Raising mages is a pain until they class up because they have awful Def and HP. They are usually dispatched in 2 shots by most enemies. Once they class up, then they are OP.

134
The new weapon triangle has broken mages. They can be one shot by spears now. I'm skeptical of it being more balanced.

Haven't played Advance Wars so idk, but it isn't like Fire Emblem. There is a pretty big difference.

The existence of Boo Camp and Ghostly Gold for the grinding is not very encouraging for me. It means the same grinding Awakening had is likely promoted again.

Yeah, it was pretty rewarding. Did not realize that perfect ejects save insurance. Makes absolutely no sense, but now I see why I never have a problem with it.
Oh.....

Again, I couldn't care less about trivial stuffs like this, but I do remember the outrage there was when people found out about this "feature" exists and the whining about FE games degrading into otaku pervy "Vita games". So I guess people should be happy now, right?
I saw the opposite. It was a ton of people happy about it and violently attacking the old Fire Emblem fans who weren't happy stuff like this was being added.

NWR Forums Discord / Re: Mighty Number 9 Delayed to Feb. 29th, 2917
« on: January 26, 2016, 04:54:36 PM »
Delays aren't always bad! The developer will use this time to polish the game make sure it works properly. I'd rather have a delayed polished game then a rushed game that I would regret buying. Delays happen and everyone should more understanding to the developer side of thin-  And the game is cancelled and Inafune made off with your money.

It took 10 minutes to max a support in Awakening, 12 minutes if it was a S-rank. I seriously doubt this would have been a faster, less tedious alternative.

Nintendo: "Let's cut a lot of stuff and announce a bunch of it before the game is released so that way all the gaming news sites will cover it and give our game coverage. People will buy it anyways."

I try to hold out for Red Ash. Since I'm still bitter over MML3 being cancelled. But I know deep down it's a pipe dream.

Some textures have been updated, mostly the ground textures I've noticed, but other small things have too. Link's model (at least the hat I noticed) looked like it was updated too (I maybe seeing things though).

Normal and Hard were easy modes to break, with or without classic mode. Insanity was sending Chrom and Frederick out and hoping it worked until you unlocked the Outer Realms and then spent hours grinding. Which was boring.

Play the older Fire Emblems on emulators. FE4 is hands down the best Fire Emblem they made. Great length, great story, sticking characters together has important meaning but isn't the predominant feature. And if you like it, then Thracia 776 is a follow up and it did have new things like unit dismount, escort/rescue objectives, etc.

Everyone is waiting for Khush to come back, but in the mean time people will pointlessly argue the Fire Emblem Fates Talkback thread.

So I have to lock that thread in order for the Funhouse to rise again?
Yes and Khush will generate another thread about it

The entire scene itself was horrible written. They are rewording it. Nintendo is using the "gay conversion therapy" as the word of the day here, but the scene needed to be rewritten period.

Give it ammo....yes, but the Magic Armor is only like 598 rupees once you fund Malo Mart's move to Castle Town.
I could have sworn you needed the Giant's wallet for a specific item and I thought it was the Magic Armor. I haven't played since the year the game released so I don't remember  :P:

General Gaming / Re: What are you playing?

Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War: I've been craving Fire Emblem, real Fire Emblem, and Path of Radiance/Radiant Dawn are obscurely expensive. So I figured why not try FE4. I'm having a blast with it. Story is good ol' Fire Emblem at the core and has a nice twist half-way through. Generational children are in this (the first one to do so I think). I love it.

Mother 3
: I can see why people hold the game in high regard. It is REALLY good. One of the better JRPGs I've be played in a long time.

...You know what, I'm fine with this one.
