One of the few upcoming games I am genuinely curious about. I hope this turns into a big seller and gets plenty of sequels.

It doesn't count as a purchase but I was unpacking some boxes looking for my nice clothes for my job interview today and I found an unopened box containing Uncharted Dual Pack for PS3 that I totally forgot I bought.

I wouldn't say I am hyped or excited for this but if done right it could be cool. Games or no games I would be into collecting the figures.

been away for a while, finals week you know how that goes. Semester is over, landed a kick ass job in my field and got re-energized. I failed one of my classes but that is okay I changed my outlook recently. The reason that doesn't bother me is this whole semester was a reallignment of sorts and since I knew I wasn't going into business although I did take it seriously I struggled with it because it was a lot of BS that just made me sick of school.

First I already have massive debt, staying in school to defer that is nice and all but not if it means adding more debt. However I did find some good news, my community college is partners with another four year school that is NOT affiliated with the one that suspended me so I am transferring there in the fall. It is an accelerated program and since I have 3 years at another University I am far enough along that I will be done in 18 months. Also it is fully online so I don't have to move.

Shyguy: I don't like using any services they are too restrictive I like to have more control and not have to worry about miscommunication over copyright issues. My beef with Youtube stems from having permission to use a certain song in one of my videos, somebody complaining I didn't and reporting it and me having to go through the process of proving I had permission. THEN when I had a second reported violation I was suspended for "multiple infractions" even though my first was proved to be a false report. Then they forced me to sign up for Google Plus and I told them to **** off. I tried others I think even Vimeo once before but I didn't care for them either. If I do anything worth sharing I will upload it to my website and post links wherever I intend to share.

I have the website bought already just haven't uploaded it yet, going to need some time to purchase me Dreamweaver as I been using Publisher and it sucks. I could code it by hand using basic HTML but I don't have time for that and am not that much of a web designer anyways. I took a class in college a couple of years ago but thats about it.

It's kind of odd for me as a mass communications major most of my professors are always going on about how important it is to stay informed.

I am hyped for my new job. Despite all my ups and downs this semester I was able to finish on a high note by landing a seasonal job as videographer for a local DJ company. I will also work gigs as a photographer and DJ on the side as I have time/they have need but it is exciting to be moving forward finally and to get back into the business that I love. It is also doubly exciting because not only will this give me much needed real world experience but it will help me fund my own video projects.

I went back at 28 also, am 31 now, and my mom is 51 and she is in her third semester now just got her GED a year ago. It is never too late to go back to school or to transfer to a better school. My sister on the other hand, took 12 years to get a bachelors, don't let that happen to you.

I can only think of a few games that I would like on a phone or tablet that are made by Nintendo, most already have a PC alternative anyways. I would be up for them releasing a **** ton of games on Steam though.

TalkBack / Re: Virtual Console Could Help Wiisuscitate U
« on: May 08, 2014, 09:54:17 PM »
I disagree with the notion Virtual Console won't sell systems, despite my initial reservations about motion controls I still had no problem buying and loving my Wii for the first couple of years based nearly solely on the virtual console. From what I have read the Wii U VC is worse than Wii was and that is a point holding me back. Especially if they get some Game Cube games on there and a good selection too. The problem is with older classics it made sense because they were oddities, the Game Cube games are basically just non-HD versions of the same games they are struggling to sell on Wii U anyways.

I see it like this, if they are going to release say Luigi's mansion for virtual console at the very least they need to upscale it for HD, rather than do that most people would prefer they just make a brand new full HD Luigi's Mansion game. I personally would be okay with both, a full HD remake or upscale of the GC games on Virtual Console, and more full HD sequels for the Wii U, but since Wind Waker HD kind of set the bar consumers are going to want that level not just 480i GC games with some AA tacked on.

It's no different than Nintendo changing Birdo from a transexual to a female end of story, in the US gay marriage is still a hot button issue so it was not something people are ready for in a kids game.

When I read this news I immediately thought of Smash Bros, because all the trophies in Melee were like the same kind of thing and collecting the digital trophies was my favorite part of that game. I don't know if this will sell me on the system but Nintendo found away to get some of my money this year.

1513
I guess I am guilty of this, but my feelings are mostly new, up till a few years ago I was on the Nintendo can do no wrong side, despite constantly defending things I personally thought were stupid, I just got tired of being phoney. The truth is I do love Nintendo, and I have every intention of getting a Wii U, as soon as the price comes down, I have stated repeatedly that my position is the machine is over priced for what you get, that is all no endless negativity. but when pressed for why I feel that way I give my reasons, is that so wrong? Sometimes I wake up and I watch some AVGN and I get super excited for Nintendo and I come here all full of nostalgia and hope, then I read some stupid new thing they are doing that only further alienates their customers and I see the cheerleaders come out to hate on those who don't like the new whatever it be. Personally I am super excited for three games on the Wii U, I have stated that repeatedly, but and I reitterate this for the relevence, the Wii U is not the same as N64 or GC, it might have the great Nintendo games but it is underpowered for the price, it is essentially a PS3 crammed into a Wii box with a tablet tacked on. If the N64 had been nothing but a Super NES with a funky new 3 pronged controller it would have been a damn flop too. I still love Nintendo games but I am just losing interest in the consoles mainly. BUT I know that will change, I got into GC at the end of 2003 when it had more games and a deep price drop so I expect to get into Wii U at a similar point, when there are enough games to justify the price that is all.

Argument: "Nintendo doesn't cater to my wants."

Response: "Go buy something else."

That is the same argument that has been hashed and rehashed since the GameCube days in some form or another.  I'm just not interested in it again.

Thats bull ****, the game cube did cater to my wants, the Wii U is not, I am curious what you like about it, seriously just name me ten games that make it worth owning, because that is why you like it right to play games, or is it you just like Nintendo and HOPE they will maybe eventually release a game or two twice a year? It is not the same GAME CUBE HAD GAMES.

By this same point in time the Game Cube already had a library more than twice that of the Wii U and still was churning out major third party exclusives, by this point in time the Game Cube was still riding the hype train it had a year to go before Xbox stole it's thunder and moved past.

The only complaints I had about Game Cube were not playing DVD's and that was not a deal breaker for me. Wii U has at most five first party games that I might be interested in. Now even if you personally like the other what is it, four that are out that I don't care for, that is what nine games, please tell me you did not spend $350 bucks on a game console for less than 10 games. By this same point in Game Cubes life it was still getting all the major third party support minus the Sony faithful who were still drowning in Playstation money.

I am serious this is an entirely NEW discussion because first this is not the same as game Cube obviously and second um I wasn't here for that and third I LOVED the Game Cube and still do.

Even the people here who still support the Wii U bitch about the game selection, and the lack of features, it's almost like, to me, you just bought it because it was made by Nintendo and you don't care if it doesn't produce the experiences you want, or you have grown to believe you don't miss those experience despite likely still enjoying them on DS/3DS while shrugging them off on Wii U? If that is not true please tell me otherwise because I am dying to know why it is the same as owning a Game Cube when I don't see it that way at all, especially since looking back at my library that I had on Game Cube there are hardly any of those games anywhere to be found on the Wii U.

Right now it has Pikmin 3, Zombie U (as far as I know the only major if not only 3rd party exclusives), it has 2 New Super mario games people here have talked trash about, a Wind Waker HD remake, and a new DKC and a new 3D mario and what two Sonic games again people here **** all over. So enlighten me how spending money on a machine that has so few games is worth that kind of money? The Wii had games, I will give it that, but they were increasingly more casual and less the kinds of games I was into, all that aside at least it had support, it had games, Wii U has none of that, even the first year of Wii was better than all of Wii U till now.

I just don't see how saying you liked the Game Cube is enough to say you like Wii U when I LOVED the Game Cube too, somehow it's not resonating apparently.

but thats the point, the Game Cube was a different scenario I already said I loved the Game Cube how is that relevent here? I could defend the GC all day long, I can't find anything to like about Wii U so it's not the same argument obviously

I guess I misunderstood the argument then, for that I do apologize. I guess we can all agree Nintendo made us this way so maybe we can get a class action suit going then.

that is my issue, online classes are more demanding everyone says they are easier but they aren't I get more from being in class participating in discussions and attending the lectures, partaking in group activities, etc, online its just study till you can't take it anymore and turn in all the homework on time take all tests on time and its just frustrating because what I want to do, what I set out to learn I can't get what I want out of online classes.

That is what I am asking, I don't care if they like it but they act like me not liking it is a crime, I gave my defense. If it matters to them why I can't like it why can't it matter to me why they do? I am genuinely curious I don't follow the news much I just read the forums lately. As pointed out most of the news is negative so if there is a reason to like it I am seriously curious, I mean I did like every past console so maybe there is something about Wii U am not educated on? I remember when Game Cube was slowing down people were quick to offer reasons why it was worth owning, I did the same I defended the Game Cube, which is funny because that machine used to get so much hate not it's being regarded as a success mainly because of the Wii U failing so hard.

Let me phrase it this way, Mop it Up asked for specifics, I gave mine then their posts delved into fine go away and play Playstation, i already said I did that but that should not be the attitude it should be hey here is a guy who USED to love Nintendo , Wii U is struggling, lets get him excited for it instead of making him not only turn to hate Nintendo but also anyone who would like Nintendo.

I am not sorry for my attitude I grew bitter BECAUSE I defended Nintendo when they didn't deserve it and I got tired of being hated for liking Nintendo.

General Chat / dropping out of school perhaps
« on: April 27, 2014, 05:02:08 PM »
A little back ground. For the last three years I was attending a certain four year university, then round November some stuff happened and I was kicked out of school. When I began I was studying broadcasting because I am into media production, when I ended I was doing Advertising and Public Relations with a Marketing Minor. I switched because the school split the broadcasting degree into two, Journalism and Ad/PR, I chose the ad PR because I hated my news writing class. Not sure what to do after getting kicked out of school and my campus apartment which effectively left me homeless, I enrolled in the local community college to keep going but I was stuck, the campus I was at did not offer the media degree only the campus over an hour away, so I enrolled in their online business course instead, Business Administration with a Management emphasis, their other choice was just Accounting. But I don't want to go into corporate suit and tie sit in an office world I wanted to get into video production. Now after a full semester closing down I am at a crossroads.

In order to keep going I have to either forfeit my four year degree and settle for a 2 year business degree, depressing notion. OR I have to try to transfer to another four year school, since none are close by that either means moving again, or taking online courses. I am OK with online courses for some stuff but not video production that needs to be hands on, I did an online film class and an on campus cinematography class, both were fun but I got way more out of the on campus one than the online one. I found a school in state that offers courses online but it is very expensive and due to my suspension from the other school there is a high chance I won't get in.

So I am thinking I might as well just drop out and regroup latter instead of continuing down a path that will not take me to where I want to go. I have three years at the four year school so I have plenty of credits to transfer so if I decide to finish up latter I am sure I can do that, if the credits will transfer. The thing is I just had to get back on my feet and in order to do that required me to take a full time job, I was getting by before living on campus and making do with nothing but now that I have to support myself that isn't an option. Because I am 31 I don't qualify for a lot of the assistance others might but I do get some financial aid and such but again because of the suspension and change in income, now that I have a full time job, things have changed.

I am in the process of starting up my own sort of freelance video production company, well sort of, and I am hoping with money from work I can spend the summer trying to get my business going, got the website started and will be doing the social media thing soon. But right now I am in a real bind where I am working for a parts store, I know literally jack about cars so I am having to learn a lot to keep my job, which requires I get ASE certified within two years anyways which again is a distraction I can't have going to school full time and trying to start a business too.

I will not give up on the business I need to do something and I have everything I need just trying to get the legal and business stuff sorted out so I can get it going, but I also can't lose my job, the hours are pretty good so I can work around my schedule but throw 12 credits of full time, fully online classes on top and I am stressed to the max and I am about to burst. I had a panic attack/nervous breakdown early in the year sold all my possessions loaded my van and headed to LA, made it all the way to Hollywood before realizing it was about the dumbest thing I ever did. I can't afford another break down and the stress building up is what got me kicked out of school in the first place so I need to get that dealt with.

Any advice, opinions, thoughts, kind words, just want to tell me to suck it up? Family is well you know family they all have their own plan for my life which apparently doesn't require consulting me anyways.

1523
It does look like a good game but if it is multiplatform is there anything special about the Wii U version? I am curious.

Or gave up a long time ago...

I gave MY Reasons why I think the Wii U sucks, NONE of the other 'side' can give a single reason why the Wii U is supposedly so great they just repeat they love Nintendo, I love Nintendo too but not enough to just buy their crap when it isn't up to their usual standard. Why is it an argument, because someone says what they don't like about the system, what might change their mind, and all the pro camp does is say wait till this comes out or wait till next year, fine if wait till next year is the best you got then fine until then as of RIGHT NOW the selection sucks sure there are games promised that might change things but why should anyone be expected to buy an over -priced last gen machine with an extremely limited game selection?

I want Mop it Up, Uncle Bob and Adrock to back up their side, you love the wii u> WHY? Explain it to me why it is so great, I already gave my reasons why it's not. Maybe there is something you know about it I don't fine convince me that paying $300 to play FIVE games is intelligent? As of right now that is all I know about, if there are more games inform me, what are they? As of right now all I ever hear is wait till X comes out then when it does wait till Y comes out then it does wait till Z comes out, there isn't much else to get excited for, so unless I am missing something there is not sane reason so own a Wii U right now. If there is please enlighten me.

YES I like Nintendo games, so do most of us, but I don't have to like every game they make, it sounds to me like some of you just buy every game they make no matter what because THEY made it, if that is not true then explain yourself WHY is the Wii U not a piece of ****?

I know not very exciting for most people but I think it is very exciting that they actually solidified decades old myths about an obscure game nobody played. Not that it matters but I actually liked this game as a kid, until I played better games that is which is strange because I actually didn't care for the movie much.
