As long as it looks more like Metroid Prime and less like any of the other Metroid games, I'll be good.

"Wii U will be discontinued next week! Glad I never bought one!" /ian

Makes the $50 price tag all the more frustrating...

Nintendo just released the 28-year-old NES game "Golf" on VC, and it costs $5. Don't look for them to be offering reasonable prices on their software anytime soon.

I know Hollywood says otherwise, but, in real life, figure skating partners are not automatically romantic partners.

Yay! Golf! Virtual Console is really kicking butt lately!

For me, reading Wii U news sometimes makes me want to go take a bath with the toaster.

I actually binge-watched the Tinkerbell movies on Netflix on a day that I felt particularly bored and shiftless, and I've got to admit, they weren't that bad. Strictly kid's stuff, but not that bad. Disney is doing a good job of developing the character's genesis gradually over the course of this series of films. In the third film, they explained why Tinkerbell can't speak to humans using her normal voice, and the next film in development is supposed to feature a young Captain Hook (before Peter Pan cuts off his hand, of course).

Except he'd say it with ten paragraphs.

(cue ian sane rant #1378)

I know, right? "That's it! The Wii U is going to be discontinued next month! Harumph-arumph!"

The very least the douchebags could do would be to release the rest of the DLC for the Wii U version, but it looks like they're too miserable to do even that.

Regardless of whether or not Nintendo is being a prick, most third parties are still pricks. I thought that was fairly common knowledge. Capcom, EA, Ubisoft, Activision, Square-Enix, they're all pricks.

Y'know those Wii U only gamers you sometimes hear about? Well, I'm one of them. If third parties weren't such miserable pricks, I'd be able to play them on my Wii U, but third parties are miserable pricks, so...

I am probably going to get a PS3 sometime soon, but it won't be until after the next price drop, which I'm sure will be coming up soon, what with Christmas and the PS4 launch and whatnot.

I understand that GTA as always been about indulging one's most basic, wanton emotions, but not to a cartoonish degree of absurdity. Yes, by all means, kill every hooker you come across, but I'm seeing ads about a "nuclear blimp"? My question is, has GTA gone from being a felony simulator to being an eclectic fever dream of impossible scenarios where you can play as a super-powered President of the United States trapped in the Matrix? With dildos.

Okay, bear in mind that I've never kept up with the GTA series. The only installment I've played to any real extent is Chinatown Wars for DS (which is hella fun, by the way). So, I'm not exactly up to date on how ludicrous the franchise may have become over the past several years. But now the Internet is full of GTA V jokes and comic strips about the main character hijacking a jetliner and crashing it into Atlantis or some such bullcrap. I haven't played the game, but the hype makes it sound as though the series is just one game away from going full Saint's Row and giving you a dildo-shaped car that fires dildo-shaped rockets that explode into smaller dildo-shaped rockets.

I liked Sleeping Dogs. There weren't any hijacked jetliners or dildo-shaped rockets in that.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: NWR Forums Top 10 Zelda Games
« on: October 06, 2013, 01:09:51 PM »
Phantom Hourglass might have cracked my Top 10 if not for having to run through the entire Temple of the Ocean King at least four times. It's unnecessary, it's not fun, and it's completely unprofessional to force the player to do that. Nintendo really should have known better. The game was good in most other respects, but that one aspect alone is enough to prevent me from playing a second time. So I stuck Spirit Tracks up there instead.

I don't see why this game had to be delayed in order to come out simultaneously with the other ports unless they were looking to please Sony, MS, and the PC crowd, leaving Nintendo at the back end of their thought process.

Same reason Ubisoft delayed "Rayman: Legends" for eight months so that it could have a simultaneous release across all platforms, I guess. Not that I really know what that reason is.

Ian Sane, whenever I catch myself feeling too happy or optimistic, I just read one of your posts, and then I go into my bedroom and cut myself.

Seriously,  get a grip. Its a video game, not life or death.

Uh...yeah, that was kind of my point. I just want to enjoy Nintendo and their games. I don't come to a site like NWR to be told by a bunch of eternal pessimists that the Wii U is the biggest failure since New Coke.
